Shortly. Took me some time to draw up some maps and get things ready for this and another game.

There's no danger of the game being put on hold, and I'll keep trying my best to keep things rolling, but at the moment it may take me anywhere from 1-4 days before I can really do the update, especially if there's a lot of stuff for me to prepare.

Hey guys,

It looks like Smiling Ben and Neesha have just missed each other, so they won't be meeting just yet.

LordVyktor made a great suggestion, though. I can create a 'battle arena' forum and have the two of you roleplay a battle between each other, pretending that Ben had decided to hunt Neesha down for the reward on her head. It wouldn't affect the normal game, it would just be a fun side battle with no consequences, to try out some pvp combat. We'll still keep up the normal game at the same time.

What do you guys think? Thoughts?

Alright, here's my idea.

We'll do an alternate reality battle where you two meet, but only if one of your PCs dies before you get the chance to meet in the game. That way neither of you will have things spoiled if you meet up in the future by knowing who has what in your army.

If you want, though, I'll set up an arena forum, give each of you a random starting army, and create a short battle scenario. We can PvP in there with your current PC, or you can create a new one. It won't have any affect on the real game, but I might throw in some XP awards for your campaign characters. Sound fun?

Also, we've completely wrapped up everything for the week's turn. Once I get orders from everyone I'll send out a newsletter for the next week.

Hopefully! I'm going to be putting up a LFP in the recruitment thread to see if we can get any more players. After that, I'll post some basic rules for creating a pitfighter army and we can rumble!

Hey guys, sorry I'm behind on updates today, guess I had less free time today than I though.

On the other hand, I'd like to welcome smiler666 to the game! We're just about done rolling up his first PC, and I'm pretty sure you guys will have a good time with this character thrown in the mix.

The first rule is that you can always create a new PC if your current one dies. Oldhammer is pretty lethal, and no matter how powerful you are, a random encounter with a rabid dog could do you in.

The second rule is that after you complete at least one adventure/mission with your latest PC, you can create another one. That PC has to complete at least one adventure before you create another PC, and so on. Normally your PCs wouldn't know each other and aren't allowed to join up or adventure together, but if there's a good reason for them to join up then I'll probably allow it.

We've got several new players, so I'm having to scale back this week and probably the next to get everything up and running for the larger group. Now that most of the PCs are complete, could everyone who has a new PC post a short description here in the tablet of heroes?

With 5+ players it will be fairly difficult to keep everyone timed to the exact same schedule in-game, so rather than making one person wait for everyone else to catch up, we'll just let everyone run their own course. When the last player finishes a particular week, I'll send out the newsletter for that week. The only time this will cause a problem is when two characters are in the same place at the same time, in which case we'll just make sure that those two stay in sync.

The new default rule is that any orders that occur inside a town or city are posted & played out publicly in that location's thread. If it seems important to you that something remain secret about what you're doing, then you can still PM me or post in your private thread whatever hidden actions you are doing. For example, you might post in El-Shahabi that you intend to spend the week at the library to look at maps, but then PM me that you're interested specifically in researching lore on the location of a hidden temple you heard about.

how does it work with your own little village you created or farmstead etc? (the public posting)

If you create your own home base in the wilderness, then you can keep that private. If it ever gets big enough that it becomes a full village on its own, with travellers and merchants coming and going, then it'll become a public town just like the others.
