Re: OOC III
I put the following information at the end of most major updates (example below):
Date: 31 Glowinghearth, Year 42
Time: 15:08
Conditions: 54F, damp
Known Spells in Effect: None
Light bearers: Torches: Chet (15:15), Arnulf (15:15),
Known Injuries: Yenny moderately injured; Hyde, Hellebore, Ilfrien, Chet slightly injured
But the injury description pretty generally follows a 10/25/50/75/90% format. I'm not sure how much the players like it, but it helps me keep track of things.

Re: OOC III
Dave,
You could also go with generic hospital type descriptions...that might give you some wiggle room if you want it.
ie, a fighter at half of 20 hp might be fair, but a mag at half of 4 hp might be critical... it's all relative, since we dont know what each person's max hp is, anyway...

I don't have a formal calendar for this game, am generally pretty poor at tracking time, and am terrible at incorporating weather into the game, so implementing something like this might force me to at least occasionally think about those things.
This is kind of how I started, and should probably go back to with hit points being relative and all (like you pointed out).onlyme wrote:Good

Maybe something like:
Full (which would loosely translate into 100%)
Good (75%)
Fair (50%)
Series (25%)
Critical (10%)
Hmmm... well, this isn't anything urgent, and I don't know if/when/how soon I would implement any changes, but I will likely be looking to add more general details like this to hopefully improve general (and obvious) awareness of game conditions.

I can be forgetful, especially when I have a lot going on in RL like I do now. I have forgotten to take into account spells in the past. The weather's easy and fun. I picked a location, use historical weather data so I don't have to worry about randomization, and it does impact the game. In fact, the locale I picked underwent record-setting cold, which has impacted the ability of my players and their enemies to use ranged weapons (cold hands). I like this element of the game, and since it's based on real weather data I don't feel like it's capricious when the weather has negative effects on the PCs.

Sorsha grabs the 2 Vorpal Throwing Daggers of Returning that were buried under the arrows. Silly kobolds for not using those...dmw71 wrote:There were several dozen arrows in the box (52, if anyone wanted to spend the time to count them individually), so Sparrow (and whomever else) can take however many arrows as they want and the remainders will be destroyed.onlyme wrote:Did Sparrow take all the arrows in the armor box?
If you did take any arrows, please update your character sheet with the quantity taken. Thanks.

If Nighttail is a new PC I will be most put out. Always wanted to play a kobold.

Re: OOC III
Holy crap, I found it. We had to write a story about the characters we were going to play. If interested, look for Taptap. He was my kobold. Can't believe it's been so long ago...

Re: OOC III
Can honestly say I've never had the urge to play common type enemies as characters. Though I haven't been in DnD long, my go to is always elves, though if more races opened up in a game I'd explore them if possible. I am in a game where you can play a leprechaun or a fairy and that's pretty neat. I also was in a game where I was a winged elf, but that didn't last long.
