Testing emails, and Opera mini 8.

#1 Post by Jack »

I'm taking part in a Swords & wizardry PBF, and the DM wants to move us here to Unseen.

Is it possible to get an email when a thread you're subscribed to gets a reply (I've selected the "Notify me when a reply is posted" option)? Can you reply to a thread via email?

I'd also like to see if I can roll and post using the Opera mini 8 browser.

Welcome Jack! The game move should be smooth. :)
To answer your questions:
* Yes you get an email when a thread you are subscribed to gets a reply;
* No you can't reply to a thread via email;
* I have no clue about the mini browser.

So again, welcome aboard and I hope you find Unseen Servant as enjoyable as we all do!

Be well,
--Ron--
PS: We do have a 2 post moderation policy, see here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1014
just so you know the first two posts may take some time, but the posts after that should be up and ready to read automatically. :)
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Thanks rredmond, email confirmed.

Rolling ([3d6]) with Opera mini 8 works fine, but not when previewing this post:

When I checked your roll id, 74331, it shows me that the "macid" should be zero "0" to post the link. So let me try that:

default.asp?
do=showone&id=74331&macid=0]
[3d6] = 12[/url]

Disregard as I was obviously talking out me arse.

Ah Opera added line breaks, that's where the problem is...
It added a line break after the forward slash and after the question mark. Otherwise the code is fine.
Sorry for the confusion. Good luck!

Thanks. It also adds a line break after the first closing square bracket, but that doesn't cause any problems because it's outside a tag.

I tested it too and see what happened. Interesting about the line breaks... but easy enough to fix.

Glad you got it sorted, and welcome.
