Sure, I'm up for this. Find a road heading north, stick to it as far as it takes us, and see if we can't find one of these ruined mansions that folk were talking about.Wyzard wrote:I think we should question the one guy and then keep on our way. Or maybe detour north or south and approach from a different direction.
...
With as much civil disorder as there is, they can't keep an effective lookout for us and the dagger up for very long. We disappear for a week or two and they'll lose track of us.

Oh, okay. That makes sense then; I just didn't know that was your intent.

Re: [OOC] Into the Unknown
If we're going north from here I'd fancy going towards the city of mages, but we need to get the necessary gear.
Its right I don't think we need to honour any deal about holding an auction with all the risks that will make.
If Decimus had still been mounted I would have gone after the red cap dude and hopefully got out of sight of other people and tried using Charm Person on him to start pumping him for information.

Re: [OOC] Into the Unknown
I think we need to at least here what this dude wants to say to us; it would be extremely suspicious for us just to take off. I suggest we at least hear him out.

Re: [OOC] Into the Unknown
Once they have a few moments alone Cadmus will cast CLW on Decimus. Also, I think it is about time we examine this dagger. At the next available opportunity Cadmus when he is positive no one is around he will cast Detect Magic upon it. And that will do it for his spells this day.

Re: [OOC] Into the Unknown
Posting in a hurry.
1. Todd: question concerning green slime. Directed at PCs only or NPCs as well?
2. All: Who has the dagger? Is it on the wiki?
3.) At what pace is the party heading east? Normal or forced?

Decimus has it. It is on the wiki.2. All: Who has the dagger? Is it on the wiki?
I think we should head out at a normal pace and get off the road as soon as possible. I think going to Cad . . . whatever is going to be pretty dangerous, regardless of which gate we enter or how we disguise ourselves.3.) At what pace is the party heading east? Normal or forced?
Re: [OOC] Into the Unknown
I agree that we should stick to traveling at a normal pace.

Cool. I'm assuming that MM isn't doing anything crazy like having his PC refuse to let yours cast Detect Magic on it.thirdkingdom wrote:

I'll post more IC in a little bit. Been a long couple days.
EDIT: That's just a normal standard smiley that I typed---some of the emoticons look a bit weird here.

Re: [OOC] Into the Unknown
No, Decimus would like to know more about the dagger too, also if we get attacked somewhere outside of a town so no witnesses he will use a Charm Person to try and get an attacker we can question.

XP for the fight with the four crossbowmen:
Everybody gets 11 XP (the number is so small that, with rounding, there's no difference between a +5% or a +10% bonus to earned XP.

I vote for a detour to the north. The heat's getting too strong here.

Re: [OOC] Into the Unknown
Okay, so there's a majority for Todd's plan: go back to Concangis (the town where y'all defeated the crossbow-wielders), announce that you guys are returning to Durans Well, and then strike into the wilderness in a northeasterly direction, attempting to travel from Concangis, through the Desolate Country, and towards Far Valeria.
I'll update in a bit.
(Todd, I'm still kinda exhausted---I didn't make an error reading any of your plan, did I?)

That's it. Do we need bedrolls if we're camping out a bunch?

Re: [OOC] Into the Unknown
I haven't yet imposed any rules requiring the purchase of specific camping equipment not in the rulebook, and won't be doing so at this time, in answer to your question.

Re: [OOC] Into the Unknown
You know what, I agree with what Vek just posted. I don't think we should go back through that village; I think we should leave the road right now. That soldier riding back west has got me spooked.

Oops---I did not see this OOC before posting IC.
Would y'all like me to go back and edit?
Also....soldier heading west?

Re: [OOC] Into the Unknown
I think he was talking about the soldier who passed us. That soldier was force marching his horse east, right? That's why he overtook us.
I don't know if you need to edit the post. It's a simple matter to assume that thick forest, or a cliff, prevented us from traveling north at the place we made our decision.
