XIII. Flooded Quarry - Trip Two

Leliana takes a stab at the Kolbold (K11) with her long, pointy sword.

Round 6
The kobolds already engaged in melee seem hesitant, but, fearing the scorched earth behind them, push the attack. Leliana is targeted by the southernmost kobold, but manages to evade the thrust of the tiny creature's short sword. Fulp gets swarmed by a trio of the pesky creatures, and successfully avoids all but the last strike against him, which barely scrapes him, and Sparrow easily avoids the attacker focusing on him.

Leliana retaliates against her attacker and issues it a deep gash with her sharp blade, and watches as her threat bleeds out. Sylvan is blocked from entering the fray by Grim, who swings wildly with his axe and growls at the creatures. Sorsha tosses two more knives, and nearly hits with both, but finds that both fail to hit their marks and instead clang off the quarry wall just beyond their intended target. Fulp, looking to beat the creatures at his feet away, swings and swats with his walking stick, but is unable to deter the ankle biters. Sparrow, with a second dose of his impressive fire-water already swirling in his mouth, takes a step northeast to secure a better angle before letting loose another blast of flame -- which incinerates the few kobolds in its path, but also causes Fulp to tumble backwards to avoid being caught in the burst himself.

Sorsha will draw 2 more knives, jump the boulder 128 into slot 129 and enage the kobold k14 in melee.

Sparrow can't hide his exuberance over finally being able to put his devastating potion to good use.

Noticing no more enemies exiting the cave, he jumps from the rocks and draws his smaller weapons. He dodges the incinerated bodies to rush at the only remaining little monster that isn't currently engaged k14 and attacks it with club and dagger.

He keeps one eye trained on the cave entrance in case another swarm of them try to rush the group.

Sorry bout that one Fulp! Hope I didn't singe your whiskers!

Where has that halfling gone off to this time? He must have seen something in there that was valuable and that he can carry? I hope he sends us a warning if he is chasing another bunch out this way!

Fulp bounces back up and moves in against k10 to help Grim finish it off with a swat.

If he can, Sylvan will boulder hop and charge k14, making sure that the fire breather isn't readying for another round.

Round 7
The outnumbered creatures continue their attacks just outside the northern entrance... and act quickly, and productively. The first engages Grim and sneaks the tip of its short sword past the defenses of the dwarven warrior, injuring him. Leliana, however, fares much worse as the remaining kobold rushes at her and catches her with a viscous attack, leaving the elven maiden fighting to remain conscious.

Grim and Leliana fight back weakly, but neither are able to match the success their opponents had just before them. Sorsha, whom originally intended on tossing more knives, pulls back and doesn't risk potentially hitting a companion now that her intended target has engaged itself in melee. Sylvan hops up on top of the bolder directly in front of the kobold facing off against Leliana and and slashes at it with his scimitar, but the creature is able to successfully duck out of the blade's path. Sparrow, clearly pleased with the effectiveness of his fire breath, hops down off his perch atop a boulder and, switching to his club and dagger, lands a pair of successful strikes against the unsuspecting kobold, at the same time as Fulp who cracks down at the now very deceased kobold with his walking stick.

To the south, a kobold fails at its attempt of climbing a boulder just outside the southern entrance and accidentally kicks some loose gravel, the noise betraying its location. And its companions.

Another swarm of kobolds, having emerged from the southern tunnel, ready themselves to attack with their short bows.

"I've got this one, take care of the next lot over there!" he manages to shout out between swipes.

Fulp will move to 113 (where Grim was) to stay sheltered from the arrows while putting him in position to charge and/or see if any more come from the northern tunnel.
He will attempt to bandage his recent wound if possible.

All, I don't have the time (or full capacity, as I'm writing this from my phone), but I misread the update from tooleychris for last round. Sorsha will be in cell 129, not her current placement on the map. Her two attacks on the kobold would have also applied last round, but were both misses.

Please consider this an official update announcing the retroactive placement of Sorsha.

Sparrow rushes forward, using the rocks 159 and the quarry wall 160 as cover. He attacks the remaining kobold k14 if it is still standing. If it isn't, he stows his melee weapons and pulls out his bow again, ready to shoot down the monsters to the south.

Give me a shout if you see another bunch coming from the north, Fulp!

"Get out of the battle!" yells Sylvan to Leliana. He slashes again at k14, hoping to get to heal her next round.

Leliana clutches her wounds and steps over to 127 "I'm hurt bad here..sorry.."

Sorsha will help Leliana exit melee by trying to come between her and the kobold and parrying blows. If safe she will try to bind her wounds with Lelianas cloak.

Round 8
The lone kobold just outside the northern tunnel is quickly swarmed and overcome... when a volley of arrows begin to pepper the group, with Sorsha, Sparrow, and Fulp being targeted. A single arrow pierces Fulp's armor, wounding him, but Sorsha and Sparrow avoid being struck.

The kobolds to the south ready more arrows.

Grim moves to next to the north tunnel (116) and, sinks to hs knees. Then, presenting as small a target as possible by just sticking his head around the corner, he peers in.

Leliana crawls her way to 114, bleeding on to the ground as she does so.

Fulp reattempts to hide behind the rocks at #83, and hastily heaves a rock toward the kobolds, but doing damage only to the rock itself upon impact.

Seeing that Leliana is out of immediate danger, Sorsha will launch a strike at a southern foe k9.
