Hahahahaha, no. No one is dead... yet. The kobolds may have something to say about that, though.

Don't forget my Dodgeball reference, if that helps...

But you probably haven't seen Dodgeball, have you?

How badly is Grim hurt? If I understand it, two arrows hit him. In the cast of characters thread it shows him in good health. Just asking b/c it will affect Sylvie's actions.

Sorry.

The proud dwarf attempts to mask it, but Grim is noticeably struggling with his injuries, and appears to be in considerable pain. The 'Cast of Characters' thread has been updated, and now includes entries for Sorsha and Leliana.

(Note: FantasyChic, please feel free to provide me a description of Leliana in your own words, if you'd like.)

No problem. I know how hard it is to keep up all of the information up to date throughout all the threads. ;)

I was planning on updating the game this morning but the website was down.

I will try to post the update this afternoon, but it might not be until later tonight.

In our predicament, later is probably better. somehow I see a couple of pin cushions in our future.

OOC: I've never posted that Ciar has given his up, so I'm assuming he still has it. I think Kas had the other. Someone else must have it, though, at this point.

I thought Ciar had one, too, but didn't see it on his character sheet (sorry if I missed it). I did see them listed on two or three other character sheets, though... so...

Actually...

I do know that Fulp was the first to search Kassal's body, and Kassal did have one. I also remember Ciar saying somewhere (I didn't search for it) that he took one when he went exploring the rat nest. So, it's possible that both everlit torches are on the southern side of the room, and those to the north do not have one.

However, I know that at least one character in the north has one listed in their possessions.

As much fun as it would be to DM a blind party (yes, I know non-humans have sight in the infrared spectrum and aren't completely blinded in the dark, and others will undoubtedly have normal torches or lanterns that could be lit), for sake of gameplay, let's just assume that one torch is with the group to the north, and the second is with either Ciar or Fulp.

If we do go with this proposal, I will need you guys to reach an agreement over who is actually carrying it.

Cool?

I will also start tracking them here: viewtopic.php?p=129240#p129240. So, in the future, if possession of the torches were to change for whatever reason, let me know.

onlyme, if you don't mind, I'll add one to Ciar's character sheet. He seems to do most of the scouting and can't check for traps with infravision, so it seems like he should have one.

Can we get a vote on what we are wanting to do?
Leliana - doesn't care as long as it is something and quick and fun
Sparrow - can breath fire on 3 of them.
Sorsha - can fire at them with her daggers, also mentions lamp oil which doesn't burn them anymore ever since the invention of greek fire.
Grim - can tunnel to them, though it may take several weeks or months
Sylvan - wants to lure them with a cask of amontillado
Fulp - wants to hire some trogs to clear out that death trap for them.
Ciar - Ready to attack with his sling and hope.

My assumption for wanting help is that all 8 can hit us in range without hitting each other. Unless we can get 2 or 3 fighters up on the ledge(s) in one round, we are sitting ducks. If everything goes perfectly, we have a 50/50 chance. If not, it quickly is a TPK.

If we want to clear this place out I think it's obvious that we are going to have to take some fire, but I agree we could also all die here if we don't plan this correctly.

I would suggest a well placed sleep spell but I don't think we have one. An entangle spell might be an effective option as well. :?:

I propose that we take out the first three on the western platform first, obviously.

We can have two members that can attack with missile fire pop in from the north passage and draw their attention by attacking. When they counter attack, Sparrow with someone else tall and strong enough to carry him up on their shoulders enter from the south and use the potion to wipe them out from behind.

Maybe the other members could use the two bigger shields in the party to try to block some of the incoming arrows from the other groups as well? (not sure if that would be a viable option)

Sparrow also has a net (that he hasn't caught one living thing in yet) that he could try to throw up at them if you think the flamebreath is too much.

Or, we throw Ciar up there and see if he can take them all out by himself? ;)

Don't know if there are three on the western side still. Ciar hit one of them solidly with his sling. I believe it dropped.

What if two come from the north to draw fire and then two sneak from the south to apply fire? And maybe the brightness of that fire will mess with kobold vision for a round or two, as well.

Maybe Sorsha could be bait? They're not overly intelligent. She fakes being hurt, screams "DONT LEAVE ME HERE!!!" and sees if they come running. We only JUST left the tunnels...

I like Tooley's suggestion. I think if we can lure them from their safe perches we have a chance.

I do not like the idea going into battle with what we have so far. The other two archer groups can tear us apart while we defeat the one. Custer had better odds.

If we cant lure them into a fair fight. we need to close them off . We cannot fight them in that cavern.

Sure, that's sounds great if it works. I would much rather fry them all at once if we can trick them out of that cavern of certain death.

Let's do it.
