Sparrow

I tend to agree, Ciar.

We need to address those small groups one at a time and eliminate them.

I have a way to kill a bunch of them at the same time if we can get them to congregate or chase after us.

I am willing to go back in and try again if I can get a few of you to cover me.

Fulp shakes his head...
The problem I see is that we cant cover you. Who here can even fire arrows or rocks to hit them?

We need a way to get us up on those ledges to fight them hand to hand, or find a way to make them move off their perches.

Sparrow

If we can get back to the first set of kobolds undetected, and I could get a boost up so my head can be level with them, I think I can take all three of them out at once.

Anyone up for some chicken fights?

Fulp inquires,

How do we go about that, when they have the entire room crossed as far as surveillance?
Likewise they could see our lantern, just as you saw ours. I think we need to recruit some towns people with bow skills to rush them at once. They can cannot fire and prevent climbers at the same time.

Sparrow smiles down at the halfling.

I knew you'd be up for a crazy plan.

Here is what I'm thinking, the rest of you can tell me if you want to join in or not.

We sneak back in with no light, the non-humans leading the way. If we see any of the little buggers that are somewhere other than on top of their platforms, we pull out our torches and get to hacking.

If we don't see anything until we reach the elevated enemy, why can't we throw some oil and flame up onto each individual platform? Then they either flee off of their advantage point, or, they burn to death.

I suppose I should have asked this first but, anyone got any of that fancy burning oil left?

No, but... couldnt they still see us, even without the light?

Sparrow

Of course, but some of us can see them without the light as well. That takes their advantage away. That, and the fact that they won't be expecting it.

I don't like the idea of going all the way back to town in order to bring a bunch more people out here. Putting innocents in harms way for our own benifits doesn't sit well with me.

I say we strike now. They are obviously protecting something in that cavern. Ciar, did you see anything special in there when you were running about?

Fulp realizes he probably doesnt have the votes to push his idea.
OK, if we go in now...

One, they can see us, so other than the warning the lamp gives, there is no reason for us to be in the dark once we are there.
Two, we must have a plan to neutralize all three of their firing positions within seconds. Not just one or two...
Three, they are awaiting us, and are on high alert, and they know how many of us there are.

Or, we bypass them entirely and somehow close off that room.

Sparrow listens while he looks at his mangled, bloody hand. He looks at Sylvan but is too proud to ask for help.

Well, I'm not going to be chased off by a handful of rotten kobolds. I thought we might be able to burn them out by throwing oil flasks up there and lighting them all up but, if none of us has any oil, that's not going to work. I have a bow and would be willing to try to take them out one at a time but, they could just move out of sight with the elevation advantage and the rest of them could just keep firing at us.

If we only had a large shield or something similar, we could block the arrows from one direction while we try to pick them off.

Bird rubs the part of his hand that isn't still bleeding. He is running out of ideas and would welcome any others at this point.

"I like the idea of tossing some lamp oil up to'em." Sorsha says. "And if I can get a clear shot I can make pin cushions outta'em. Maybe one a you strong men can give me a boost up? How can you take out so many at once, Sparrow?"

Ciar raises an eyebrow. "I believe his plan was to do that by tossing some lamp oil up to'em..."

Bird seems reluctant to speak up, but does anyway.

Actually, I also have a potion that I can drink that will let me breath a huge blast of fire at them. It may be overkill to only use it on three rotten dogmen but, I'm absolutely sure that it will take out one bunch of them quickly and completely if I can get up to their height without getting shot to death first.

He pulls out and shows the group a stoppered metal flask with liquid sloshing around inside.

"Whatever the idea is, pick one and go with it already. While we talk out here like ladies during afternoon tea, the kolbolds are moving around inside. For all we know, they may be in a different area now. I suggest we pick one idea and do it, if it works, great, if not, well...it was fun while it lasted.

I am going to wait to update until everyone has had a chance to chime in with what their character is going to be doing. Below is a map of the cavern, which includes the north and south entrances.

Please indicate which cell your character will be ending up on at the completion of their turn.

"I don't see the point of attacking them when walling them off is a possibility. But my opinion is not that of the group. I'll remain in the rear to heal the inevitable wounds you'll bear after running into a trap" remarks Sylvan sardonically.

He will remain at the northern entrance of the chamber, watching their backs.

Dave, could you possibly post a map of the entire cave area that we've explored so far? I can't remember if there were still unchecked tunnels. It might also make it easier to formulate a plan. (with an escape route)
