"Well..." Ciar thinks for a moment, "I could loan you about 37 gold, in the form of copper pennies, if you needed it. There is the not-so-small task of retrieving it, though."

He chuckles at his own joke.

"In all seriousness, I could spot you the value of 50 gold, maybe. If you can convince two others to do the same, then you'd have the coin you need..."

He pulls out the two gemstones Fulp just handed to him and passes them over to Sparrow.

"I'll expect that back, mind you. Now where did you find such armour in this town? I wouldn't mind having a look at some wares myself..."

Fulp nods.
Seems like a wise investment. You stay alive long enough to pay us back.and maybe it fits one of us if not?

He will then hand Sparrow his own allotted two stones.

Sparrow smiles a wide, gap toothed smile that stretches from ear to ear.

I'll do you one better then telling you. Since you helped me out, I'll show you where the place is, Ciar. I never thought I'd get you to bite on a free loan.

What do you say gents? Could you help a brother out with a quick 50 spot? You know I'm good for it. You can take it directly out of the next stash we claim.

Sparrow hates to grovel but, he hates getting stabbed through cheap armor a lot worse.

Thank you Fulp. You have my word that if I'm dead before you're paid back, the mail is yours my friend.

Ciar shrugs, "Information is worth just as much as coin sometimes. Lead on!"

She wrinkles her nose and cocks an eye at Sparrow. "But its near bleedin me dry, so don't go dyin 'fore we're square. K?"

Sparrow

Thank you Syl! I knew you'd be willing to help.

You can keep your gold missy. I only needed 150. I really appreciate the thought though, considering we've just met and all. By the way, what is it that you like to be called? We have a tendency to use pet names a lot in this group.

Bird smiles all around, shaking each arm as he takes the coin and gems. He then happily leads Ciar to the shop of Theon Sensina to buy some stinky, well used armor.

Sparrow and Sorsha retrace their steps, and lead the rest of the group to the various locations they visited previously, which includes stops at House of Abadar, Shrine of the Seven Roses, Delbin’s Devices, Chance Smithy, and finally Sensina Hides.

The first stop is at the House of Adabars, where Eupaphenia Targas once again presents the crossbow, longsword, scroll, and wand for display to those new audience members.

The brunette shopkeeper explains that the wand is highly effective at healing wounds, and costs 4,500 gold. The lesser expensive scroll, she explains, is useful at restoring things such as paralysis, insanity, and other forms of mental effects.

Sparrow mentions the more powerful healing wand at the Shire, which has similar properties as the scroll from Adabars, that the group remembers learning about previously, so the group skips returning there.

Phedra Delbin, the namesake of Delbin’s Devices, takes some time to once again present the items available for sale in her shop.

She explains that the ring offers certain protections to its wearer should they ever come into contact with acid. There's also a beetle-shaped pin, or scarab, that enables its wearer to detect any golem within 60 feet. "Thankfully," Phedra starts, "This thing ain't gone off since I come into possession of it."

Finally, at Sensina Hides, Sparrow can barely contain his excitement as he returns with the money and presents the coins and gems to Theon to purchase the suit of studded leather armor that has been enhanced.

The leatherworker looks at the gems and begins to object. "How'm I supposta know how much these are worth?" he protests, but eventually agrees to sell Sparrow the armor.

"It's a little big." the red head says to Sparrow."But not bad."
She turns to the rest of the group: "How far is this rat hole we're headin to? Should we get some trail rations for the road? That is, if we're gonna go soon..."

Ciar asks, "You have anything my size that is... Similarly enchanted?"

If Theon doesn't have anything, Ciar heads back to Phedra's shop to see how much the ring costs.

Fulp will likewise ask Theon about such armor in his size.

Sparrow replies with a smile.

Ya, it is a little bit big. Maybe it will magically grow to my form over time?

Sparrow is initially quite happy about his purchase but reels in his excitement when he hears that the guys that helped him financially aren't able to get something for themselves now.

It is not far, just outside of town actually. We shouldn't need anything special as far as rations go.

He then looks to Theon again.

Do you buy normal used armor here? If so, how much would you pay for my old set?

Ciar asks, "You have anything my size that is... Similarly enchanted?" Fulp inquires as well. "Let me stop you," Theon says, interrupting. "That there --" he says, pointing to the suit Sparrow is working his way into, "Is the only special suit of armor I have. Or had."

Sparrow, finishing getting into his new set of armor, hears his name. "Do you buy normal used armor here? If so, how much would you pay for my old set?" Theon grumbles, still unsure whether the gems he accepted were a legitimate deal. "Why don't you just throw that into our original deal, yeah?", looking at the obviously well-worn and oft-damaged suit the fighter is discarding.
Damage Sparrow (and his armor) has taken:
Torture chair, falling damage, slime burn, ghoul claw, bear claw, and two slashes from a kobold sword.
Ciar, and anyone else interested, heads back to Delbin’s Devices shop and inquires with Phedra as to the cost of the ring. "That there," she says, "is 2,000 gold."

Just to let you guys know, only the scroll at the House of Abadar (700 gold) and a shield at Chance Smithy (800 gold) are under 1,000 gold. Magic is available, but it's not inexpensive.

Sparrow finishes donning his new suit and goes through his usual stretching routine.

After assuring the proper fit, the ranger dives onto his hands and goes into a handstand. He does a couple of push-ups and jumps back to his feet.

Yep! This should work nicely. Keep the ratty armor my good man. I think you already gave me a great deal. Thank you for your fine service.

Do keep my troupe in mind if something else shiny should come your way.

"All too rich for my blood. Let's waste no more time getting back to the kobolds."

If everyone else is ready, Ciar begins heading back to the quarry, fully refreshed and ready to go.

Sorsha catches up with Ciar. "So...you never did say if you saw me dancing in Sandport. Is that where you remember me from? "
She listens to his response and continues:
"What can you tell me about this quarry? I heard about the fallen tower from the locals but nothing much about where we're headin."

Ciar shakes his head, "Nyah, weren't no dancin' posters I was looking at. Must have been someone else..."

"The old quarry is where the kobolds made a home for themselves in some natural cave formations. It's a bit past the old tower. There is actually a tunnel that goes from the old tower to the quarry, but it's kobold sized." He glances over at Sorsha then continues, "It's a long tunnel, too; even you'd have trouble making your way through it."

"Anyway, lots of big blocks of stone, some water pooled up in another area, that sort of thing. Oh, and some dead rats and kobolds probably stinkin' up the place even more than it was before, I'd imagine."

"I have a feeling dead ones'll be my favorite kind, stinky or no." Sorsha laughs as they continue their journey.
"How many have you all killed?"
