Chapter 2 - Sorrowfield
Re: Chapter 2 - Sorrowfield
All four wolves carefully creep up to the chunk of meat. One takes the lead and carefully sniffs at it, eyes on the other 3 wolves who hang back but definitely interested in the prize. The lead wolf (obviously the alpha) greedily devours the meat, growling as the other 3 attempt to close the gap between them all.
Re: Chapter 2 - Sorrowfield
Craw tosses another chunk of meat at the wolves, more in the direction of the other three this time. "keep an eye on that one" he says to the others, nodding towards the alpha. "if things get rough, you want to kill that one first...".
He keeps tossing meat to the wolves, a bit at a time, making sure the wolves see who is feeding them. "hungry, lads? ... I know how you feel"

Re: Chapter 2 - Sorrowfield
Craw throws the second hunk of meat at the other three wolves, two of which grab the hunk at the same time and begin a tug-of-war contest over the prize, growling the entire time. The third hunk a meat is quickly gobbled up by the fourth wolf who managed to stay back from the two fighting over the second piece. A fourth hunk brings one of the wolves out of the tugging contest and chomps down on the meat, content to have his own meat.
Re: Chapter 2 - Sorrowfield
Craw calmly observes the wolves eating, keeping the last bits of meat in his hand (and tasting one). "Bah... wasted probably" he adds shaking his head.
Do the animals seem calm now? are they still growling at us?

After finishing the hunks of meat, they continue to growl at you.

Re: Chapter 2 - Sorrowfield
Craw attempts to determine the wolves' mood towards the group. Initially, the growling and their demeanor was hostile; if it weren't for the barrier they would have attacked immediately. Now their demeanor and crawling is more low keyed. More along the line of defending their territory.

"Good work, Craw," Erevan says. He gingerly takes a step toward the wolves.
These are ghouls. They hang out in graveyards, they have long tongues, and they eat people.

Craw [Fighter - AC 17 - HP 13]
Craw shrugs."I hope so... Anyway, before attempting to free the prisoners, I would be sure the other rooms are safe. Unless..."
He louds up his voice a bit and talks to the prisoners: "You there, are you all right? Can you fight?"

One of the men, presumably the farmer himself, looks at the others and then gives you a sorrowful face. "No," he shakes his head, "the gobbos gave us a pretty good beating when they surprised us in the bog. But the wolves ain't bothered us yet. I don't know how long that will last though."

Anger burns within Erevan as he listens to the tale of the farmers' suffering. Even though they're humans.

"Hold on there! We will let you out soon!" Craw looks at his companions: "Well, the wolves seem pretty calm. Let's go find the other goblins..." and with a nod he heads in direction of the other passage, shield and handaxe at the ready.

As her companions prepare to exit the cave, Leaf walks up to the barrier. Holding her yew staff with both hands, she regards the wolves and attempts to communicate with them.

Re: Chapter 2 - Sorrowfield
Seeing Leaf still in front of the wolves, Craw stops after a few steps and waits, guarding the entrance of the cave.
Re: Chapter 2 - Sorrowfield
The wolves all regard Leaf intently. Then, almost as one, they turn and look at the large wolf, the alpha of the pack. As the alpha approaches the barricade, the others draw back. He stares directly into your eyes and growls, "Who are you to make demands of us?"

Re: Chapter 2 - Sorrowfield
Leaf kneels in front of the wolf so she is on eye level. "Not a demand, pack master. I do not own you. No one owns you. I would set your free. But I need a favor first. Who are your captors and how many? Where can I find them? Help me to help you."

Give me another Persuasion role with advantage. What you are doing is attempting to alter his reaction status to you. Because 5e doesn't have one, I am using the Influencing NPC Attitudes table from 3.5
