Hey guys, back in town, finally. TV and internet never looked better.
Well, guess I came back too late. Been great playing with you all. Kelton is dead!

Call me slow, but I just noticed that you (Belkregos) keep your character sheet in your signature! That's brilliant! Once I'm by a computer, I'm doing that too!

Re: OOC 1 > The Place for Chatter
Let me give you guys some perspective here > both Aslaan and Kelton are down and out...until they are healed either magically or with a long rest (8 hours or more). Baer is out of spells for the day and no one else has any healing.
Now, you've a few options:
1/ You can leave them here, hoping they will be okay, and go on and try to find Sildar.
2/ You can explore around a bit and see what you can find out about the goblins in this cavern while someone watches over them.
3/ You can regroup back at the wagon and rest up until your two fighters can heal or until Baer can regain his spells and heal them.
This is up to the three conscious characters > Baer, Ioriston, and Stitches > to decide. So, what are you going to do?

Of course, kelton will do what ever group decided, since he doesn't have a vote. He is getting to where in his head. sheep are jumping a fence and he is counting then in his head.

Re: OOC 1 > The Place for Chatter
Howdy fellers > just a quick note to let you know, posting will likely slow down beginning Tuesday, when I return to work. It's been a nice long summer, but all things must come to an end.
Also, I "threw out" my back (not sure where that statement originated) on Saturday and spent the rest of that night and Sunday walking with a cane. I really feel old.
Hopefully, every day will be better as the week goes on, but that, coupled with going back to work, may make for sporadic posting for the next couple of weeks.
Just wanted you to know.

Re: OOC 1 > The Place for Chatter
Hey fellers > it's been a manic Monday at school (crying kids, lockdown, lots of rain), but I'm eating lunch and decided to check in on the game. I'm going to post later today, but wanted to put something out there for you to chew on; something I've copied from another game I ran.
If the group is in combat and you do not post after two days, I will take control of your character for the remainder of the combat. If this becomes a pattern, I will take over your character permanently as an NPC and you will be out of the game.
In role playing situations, if you do not post, you do not act, nor do you have a voice in what the group decides...or what is decided for your character. Also, I will speak for your character as needed to move the game along.
These actions will directly affect the amount of XP awarded to your character too. If you're not participating, it's not fair to give your character the same XP as those who contribute regularly.
I say all this not to be a jerk DM, but to hopefully make it clear as to what I expect from all of us. And to remind you of why you signed on in the first place. I hope you agree, and if you want to discuss it further, please PM me.
Hope that is clear to everyone...and now, back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Re: OOC 1 > The Place for Chatter
Totally agree on the new house rule and my profuse apologies to
Gary and the rest of you for my silence.
I am back in the saddle and ready to rock and roll with Baer, if I am
allowed to.
Cheers,
Malcolm

I don't think its being a jerk DM at all. Ready for the update. LET"S ROLL!
As the light changed from red to green to yellow and back to red again, I sat there thinking about life. Was it nothing more than a bunch of honking and yelling? Sometimes it seemed that way.

Per my statement above, after we finish this battle, I will relinquish control of Baer and Kelton back to their respective players.mordechiyoel wrote:Totally agree on the new house rule and my profuse apologies to

Re: OOC 1 > The Place for Chatter
Since the three players (Marc, Johnny, Octavio) posted actions, I went ahead and posted Round 4.
And it was not a good round for the group!
Kelton is mortally wounded and bleeding out fast, and everyone else is severely wounded. And now, Klarg, the bugbear leader has entered the fray. It looks bad for the group.
But can you survive? It's what I love about low-level D&D > you just never know what will happen.
Edit: In fact, Kelton might be dead already. I'm trying to make sense of the 5E rules on death and dying. If a character reaches "0" hp, they are unconscious and must make death saving throws. However, I can't find anything in the rules about when a character has negative hp. Of course, I could be overlooking the text. Any help?

I'll do my best to add an updated map tomorrow.

Re: OOC 1 > The Place for Chatter
Went ahead and rolled Kelton's death saving throw.
Kelton death save: [1d20] = 20
Does that mean he now has 1 hp?

I totally agree. Im sorry, but my situation is, im covering two schools right now and i do not have the luxury of a At the moment. Im sorry but there is nothing i can do. By the time i get home i am totally spent and regrettably have no enthusiasm for anything. Im not saying this to make you all feel sorry for me, just want to apologize and tell you i have no ill wills to what happens to my character. Im just want to apologize and im sorry i let you all down!hedgeknight wrote:Hey fellers > it's been a manic Monday at school (crying kids, lockdown, lots of rain), but I'm eating lunch and decided to check in on the game. Re: OOC 1 > The Place for Chatter
Player update:
mordechiyoel (Malcolm) contacted me today and will no longer be a player in the game due to RL issues taking precedent of his time. I appreciate him letting me know so that we can move forward with the game.
At the end of the current battle, a new player will take over Baer Battlehammer.
