What would you like to play/run? (Interest Catch-all)

I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.

OK. give me a week or two to get organized and I'll see if I can get an ASE game going. Either using LL rules or DCC RPG.

i'm leaning towards DCC RPG but I realize they may not be a rule set most people would have....

I'd like to try a DCC game if you think you'll need another player.

I have a pdf of the DCC rules, and have been on the edge of committing to the physical object. So count me in!

Do you think you'd go funnel?

Yes, there would be a funnel. I think I have an interesting way to do it also that would fit in with the ASE campaign setting.

Give me a bit of time to prep and I'll see about starting a ASE game using DCC RPG

I played it once online. It seemed to have some interesting mechanics, but we didn't get too far into play before the game died. Fun to try it though.

Dogs is high on my list of games I want to play.
On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

Thanks for the input. Sounds interesting...not that familiar with the rules but sounds like something that would be fun to try

Dogs always feels like Fiasco and Burning Wheel hooked up in a Revival tent and had a weird mutant baby to me.

Among Vincent's games I definitely prefer Apocalypse World--for the Dogs feel of putting it all on the line for your character every time, I like the mechanics of Burning Wheel more, but it's a matter of personal preference. Dogs is definitely a game everyone should play at least once.

Fiasco--now there's a fun game! Played it pbp a long time ago, and wouldn't mind doing so again.

Just bought Fiasco, haven't had a chance to read it, yet. Looking forward to it.

Though I've never tried, Fiasco seems like it would be a good candidate for a fairly short fast-paced PbP.

This is just a pipe-dream post for now, depending on how smoothly my Warhammer 1e sandbox goes in the next couple of months.

I've been thinking of doing an OD&D open sandbox, mixing some of my go-to house rules with some new ideas I've been picking up at the OD&D Discussion and OD&D Campaigns boards.

The basic rules would be OD&D without supplements, plus Chainmail combat (i.e., 2D6 combat instead of the D20 tables).

The theme would be a Fantasyland mash-up, inspired by traditional fantasy and the early gonzo megadungeons. So the general atmosphere and feel would lean heavily on Victorian gothic folklore, with dwarves, fairies, dragons and puppet children created by crazy clockmakers (basically, think of fantasy movies from the '20s-'50s, when Errol Flynn and Disney's Nine Old Men had their careers). This would be commixed with bizarro Wonderland-style fantasy and OD&D gonzo stuff, like the occasional horseless buggy, robot, laser gun or six-shootin' cowpoke.

Besides using Chainmail combat instead of the 'alternative' D&D combat, some of the more important house rules would be…

No clerics. Instead, magic-users have access to both lists. This also means that turning undead will be more powerful, since there isn't a starting PC class that can do it.

Magic-users can now wear all armour and (potentially) use all weapons. When casting in armour, roll 2D6 vs your AC: if you fail, it fizzles, and you possibly lose the spell from memory. Magic-users start off with the normal weapon restrictions, but can train to use any weapons.

This will just be a run-down of the top of my RPG wish-list at the moment, not necessarily an exhaustive list of everything that I would be willing to play. So, in no particular order:

Other Dust - I recently purchased a sizable chunk of the Sine Nomine RPG catalog, and while I've played some Stars Without Number and know that it is generally the more popular setting/ruleset, I would love to try a game of Other Dust. I would jump at the chance to play in a campaign and could even be persuaded to run my own campaign if there is enough interest.

Stars Without Number - The reasoning here is pretty much the same as with Other Dust, with the added bonus that I've played SWN before and so sliding into the GM chair would be a lot easier.

Spears of the Dawn - As I said, I recently bought a lot of Sine Nomine books. xP This book in particular I have not yet finished reading in-depth, but likewise for the above two games, the system is so simple and yet familiar to D&D veterans that I wouldn't be opposed to running a campaign with it, or jumping into one if someone else assembles a group.

Dungeon World - A favourite of mine. While I'm not 100% in love with the base rules, lately I've played more of this game than any other simply for the simplicity of the system and the ease with which a new campaign can be started and new players introduced. If I can get a group together, I will almost certainly want to play a few games of this with them first to establish some rapport since I am new on the site.

Scarlet Heroes - Another Sine Nomine game, but kind of my last resort just in case I am unable to put together a group for any of the above games and likewise don't manage to find another game to join. This is an an old school RPG with rules to accommodate play with only a single player and a GM. As a bonus, it also has one of the most interesting fantasy settings I've read in a long time in the form of a Southeast Asian mythology-inspired world.

If anyone might be interested in a campaign using one of more of the games above, let me know and I'll be happy to run one! Likewise if there are any games in need or want of more players, I'd be happy to join just about anything that I've seen on the site thus far.

Spears of the Dawn is high on my list too. I have the adventure module they put out for it and would be willing to either GM or play. I haven't read the module since it came out, so I don't remember it except that it looked good.
Playing: At the Forest's Edge: Desmond Halfling Vagabond
The Northern Marches: Hengist Cleric of Baudh

I would definitely be up for some Spears of the Dawn! I've been focusing more on learning the GM systems of Other Dust so I don't think I'd be comfortable GMing Spears just yet, but I'd be happy to play in the module if you run it.

Ooh, ooh - I am desperate to play Warhammer 1e! Are you doing it online or FtF?
