Ioriston points a finger at the nearest goblin and casts Ray of Frost!

Initiative: [1d20] = 6 +3= 9 (forgot my bonus)

Kelton Will step up and take on the goblin coming towards him. He will swing is great axe. He will continue to swing until it drops then move to the next. Always being mindful of what is around and behind him.

To Hit [1d20+3] = 4+3 = 7, Damage of Great Axe [1d12+3] = 11+3 = 14

To Hit [1d20+3] = 5+3 = 8, Damage of Great Axe [1d12+3] = 5+3 = 8

To Hit [1d20+3] = 4+3 = 7, Damage of Great Axe [1d12+3] = 6+3 = 9

To Hit [1d20+3] = 11+3 = 14, Damage of Great Axe [1d12+3] = 12+3 = 15

ooc: put a few rounds of rolling in, didn't know if you wanted it this way?

As the light changed from red to green to yellow and back to red again, I sat there thinking about life. Was it nothing more than a bunch of honking and yelling? Sometimes it seemed that way.

Triboar Trail > Round 1

Initiative Order > Ioriston (20), Stiches (20), Goblins (14), Aslaan (11), Kelton (9), Baer (0)

As the goblins rush the wagon, Ioriston points his finger at the one coming at him. A thin bluish ray bursts from his fingertip, striking the goblin in the chest, knocking it down. It writhes on the ground, struggling to get up, its body covered with frost.

In the woods below the trail, Stitches grimaces from the pain of the arrow wound, but it doesn't throw off his aim, as he shoots his goblin attacker in the chest, dropping it like its companion.

The three remaining goblins howl as they attack.
One runs up to Aslaan, wielding a scimitar, but the fighter is able to block its attack.
Goblin scimitar: [1d20+4] = 4+4 = 8, [1d6+2] = 6+2 = 8
Aslaan draws is great sword and attacks, but the nimble goblin dodges the blow.

A second goblin charges Kelton, and cuts the blood out of him, delivering a nasty slash to his stomach.
Goblin scimitar: [1d20+4] = 17+4 = 21, [1d6+2] = 3+2 = 5
Kelton staggers back, and then chops at the goblin with his axe, but misses.
OOC: One attack roll per round will be sufficient for now.

The third goblin, who can barely stand, ducks under the horses and attacks Ioriston, but thanks to the mage's protective spell, the blade glances off his skin as if he was wearing armor.
Goblin scimitar: [1d20+4] = 9+4 = 13, [1d6+2] = 5+2 = 7

Aslaan will take out his greatsword and take a hack at the goblin.

To hit: [1d20+4] = 9+4 = 13, damage with greatsword [2d6+2] = 7+2 = 9

If he can't do that he will draw it and get ready for another attack from the goblin..

Round 2

Aslaan will continue his attack with the greatsword if the goblin is still there. If not, he will move up towards the wagon and help with the others.

To hit: [1d20+4] = 16+4 = 20, damage with greatsword [2d6+2] = 12+2 = 14

Ioriston fans out his fingers toward the frosty goblin in front of him...and this time sparks fly from his fingers, electrocuting the goblin to death!

The other two goblins continue to fight Aslaan and Kelton.
The first ducks under Aslaan's greatsword and delivers a wicked cut to the fighter's stomach!Goblin scimitar: [1d20+4] = 15+4 = 19, [1d6+2] = 5+2 = 7
Aslaan grits his teeth and brings his greatsword to bear on the goblin, lopping off the little creature's head!

The other goblin sees its opportunity and lunges forward, driving it's scimitar clean through Kelton's gut! The big warrior falls to his knees and then to his face as the goblin dances away, cackling with laughter.
Goblin scimitar: [1d20+4] = 19+4 = 23, [1d6+2] = 5+2 = 7

Seeing the rest of its companions dead, the goblin dashes into the woods...with a casual glance, none of you can see the creature as it disappears into the thick underbrush!

Actions?

Stats:
Aslaan > down 7 hp
Kelton > down 12 hp; "0" hp = unconscious
Stitches > down 3 hp
4 Goblins dead
Winter is coming...

Are there any goblins left? I counted 5. Four are dead and one escaped.

Stitches moves up to take cover with the dead horses and shoot an arrow at the goblin that just dropped kelton

Ioriston shouts:

"Baer!!! We need your healing acumen!!! Kelton is down!!! I'll make sure this one doesn't get away..."

Ioriston's chant makes the wretched and cowardly goblin groggy and...

Sleep Spell Affects: [5d8] = 24 HP

"Let's no one kill him just yet. We can tie him up and question him. He will only be asleep for but a minute. I happen to be fluent in the goblinoid language. Their literature is incoherent at best, but their language will allow me to discern whether or not he is a random brigand or part of a bigger syndicate."

Aslaan will will make his way up to the downed warrior and try to stop any bleeding since everyone else seems to be firing at a goblin that Aslaan can't see.

Ioriston unleashes his spell into the underbrush...did it work? The only way he'll know is to go searching the bushes and brambles off the side of the trail. He does have an excellent memory and can "see" where the goblin disappeared into the thickets...

Aslaan finds Kelton unconscious, but still bleeding. His breathing is shallow and he is pale, but Aslaan doesn't think he is dying.

Baer sits stoically in the wagon, seemingly too shocked at all the death around him to react.

Stitches looks around from hehind the cover he's taken to make sure at least the imediate danger gone, then notices himself bleeding, smears some more blood on his face and starts limping out towards Alasan and keaton,

aaaagghh....im bleeding out...tell my auntie i died bravely, and that i didn't mean to knock my cussin out but he deserved it..... take my share and give to big martha, tell her i'm sorry for getting on with her sister but i still dont think the redhead halfing is mine but get him some decent shoes.... aaagghhh, cough, cough...

Ioriston doesn't believe the performance but totally thinks it's possible that Stitches has a half-halfling whelp somewhere out there.

Baer smiles while he sees his companions deal with the goblins.

He jumps down and runs to Aslan, "Great lord, heal me companion"
as he casts Cure Wounds.

to heal: [1d8+2] = 2+2 = 4

He then goes to Kelton, "I gotcha !"
as he casts Cure Wounds again.

to heal: [1d8+2] = 6+2 = 8

"I's done !" Baer says as he has channeled all the healing he can.

Kelton awakens seeing his new friend, Baer, kneeling over him. Shakes his head and says, "thank you my friend. That last shot was a jolt." Kelton will sit up and look around. "I think we need to find out what this was all about." After Kelton shakes the cobwebs out of his head, he will walk over to Loriston, "I believe we do need to get information from this creature."

stitches gets up with a pissed off look on his face as for all his acting he didnt get any healing

"hey! i need some stitches at least"
he says pointing at the broken arrow sticking out of him and tries to pull it out on his own and get ready to follow the goblin or find their lair

"lets get these dogs, their hideout must be close by and they might have some loot they've stolen from other travelers"
