Did we get a chance to loot the white-skinned goblin's body before the Finger blew up? Also, how many arrows did Lug recover?

Since you had two members down I assume looting wouldn't be the party's first priority--so you can either elect to have looted the body or get two arrows back.

I figured some of us would be checking on the injured, some would be looting.

Lug will forgo two arrows to find out what's behind door #2 what the white-skinned goblin might have.

Also: have the rocks stopped falling nearby at this point, or are we still being bombarded?

(Rocks fall, everyone dies? :D)

No, the rain of stone seems to have ended.

Lug finds a pouch with thirty gold pieces and the shield the goblin was using appears to be--Orrin's magic shield of protection from whatever he said it protected him from.

Does it look like the smoke will reach us? If so, do we have a guess as to how soon?

It might reach this area, but you're not too worried about that plume of smoke at the moment. The bigger worry is the fires in the forest that have started--you have a small one here, but there are likely dozens, if not hundreds, more beyond your immediate vicinity but within the blast zone.

Lug gets his first good look at the shield. A dark look crosses his face. He draws Reason, as if to kill the white goblin all over again. But he closes his eyes instead. Anyone watching could see him silently mouth the words, "One...two...three...four..."

When he has counted to ten, he takes the shield. "Orrin's shield," he says quietly. "He called it 'Tall Ron's Dick' or something like that. Don't ask me why."

"This...doesn't mean Orrin is dead," he adds in a shaky voice, as if trying to convince himself. "The orcs would have taken it as soon as he was taken prisoner. So he's probably fine. Yeah. He's fine, and so are the others. I'm sure. We just have to rescue—"

The Finger explodes.

Lug holds the shield over Mormoth to protect him as much as he can from the incoming chunks of mountain. He looks east, to where his friends are held captive. Probably. Then he looks down at Jord and Mormoth again, and at Varas. "Yeah," he tells Varas, "We'd better go. Sure would like to use this to get into the orc hold, but we're too beat up now. Can we move Jord and Mormoth without killing them?"

Mormoth will wake up within a few hours, but Jord will need shelter and peace (i.e. not moving) in order not to deteriorate daily by 1d2 HP.

Can healing brews be administered to the unconscious?

Oh, and do we get the feeling that a few hours is way too long to linger and expect not to find ourselves in the middle of a forest fire?

How about a few minutes?

If the fires don't seem to be closing in at great speed, so that the group would have ten minutes or so before the fires are on them, Lug will give Jord sips of his healing brew a little at a time until the mercenary wakes up or the brew is used up. "C'mon," he says. "Someone help Mormoth."

If they fire is closing in too fast, Lug will give Jord all his healing brew at once.

If you get moving within ten or fifteen minutes you won't be in immediate danger, if your current locale is anything like it is elsewhere.

Marge will finish with Varas and move to help with Jord. If he requires any drinks from her healing brew, she will administer enough to get him on his feet so they can move out of the forest fire more quickly.

Nihilius scowls at the flaming stones, moving quickly into action. He takes the rope pieces and begins binding their hands and tethering them to a deadline. He directs Valorei to help.

Concerned about the humans she hired to the party's cause, Ruwyn does what she can to make the downed mercs comfortable while the others work on them.

"Help me get Mormoth on my horse. We can ride out of danger and tend to him afterwards. Otherwise we all could die" says Varas as preparations are made to move out.

He says this, then leaves the others to help as he loots the fallen goblins' bodies.

That's some dedication to haste, there. "We could die if we don't get out of here right away! After I spend some time looting the goblins, of course." ;)

Varas is a principled thief: that is, he has strong principles related to the profit motive.

Yeah, I'm glad you caught that. Tried to offer a little insight into Varas. He's not very wise. We're in great danger, but of course you loot the bodies, no matter what!

That's a 5 WIS score for you.

If Varas walked among us, he would smoke while pumping gas and text while driving.
