Athriel, loaded crossbow in his hand, continues to cautiously advance towards the source of the sound, hands probing the space in front of him, when he senses the unseen foe just elude him once he reaches the end of his movement. Petra does not detect anything during her continued monitoring of the rear of the inn.

The unseen adversary, once again on their feet, scampers backwards after Athriel comes within feet of making contact. "Duis rhoncus posuere lorem, nec lobortis ex sodales vel." the unknown foe utters while backing away, revealing themselves to be a human male wearing a blue hooded cloak with gold trim.

This unknown male attempts to cast a spell at Athriel, but his effort is apparently thwarted by the half-elf's threat.

Marshal and Ty, catching a momentary glimpse at the now-visible opponent before it backs away, begin to move in a knowing direction towards their threat.

Marshal took a five foot step to the south (88) lifting his crossbow to his shoulder to fire at the man, thanks to his darkvision seeing his enemy should not be a serious problem. He mumbled a little wordless prayer to his gods and pulled the trigger. Than without even seeing if the bolt struck home he spent the remainder of his action to load the crossbow again, since it was a light crossbow the process was fairly quick.

Apparently his prayers fell on deft ears, and he would likely be surprised by whatever terrible thing might occur due to his ill luck.

(Botched that roll so make me suffer whatever it is you wish for me to suffer)

Once there, if he can see the man, he throws his starknife at him.

Athriel acts first, and is the closest to the opponent, so while I have everyone else's actions noted, I will wait for his action before resolving the round.

Athriel raises the loaded crossbow, pointing it at the adversary whom he had tried to find. With it pointed at the man, he eases back on the trigger and fires the loaded quarrel but Athriel's shot is too wide.

Athriel watches as the quarrel shot from his readied crossbow sails wide of their adversary. Petra, unaware of what exactly is taking place inside the office of the inn, continues to keep watch as she moves east along the wall of windows.

The magic-using opponent continues to utter words of an arcane nature: "Pellentesque habitant morbi tristique senectus et netus," the magic-using opponent utters; at the completion of which, two missiles launch forth from the casters hand, targeting Athriel, and striking him unerringly (-7 hp), formally staggering him (see 'Disabled (0 hit points)', below).

Marshal takes a five foot step to the south, lifts his crossbow to his shoulder, and speaks a prayer to his gods as he pulls the trigger. The bolt misses its mark, but the dwarf remains undeterred, loading another. Ty steps into the doorway moments after Marshal's bolt sailed past. His starknife already in hand, he sends it twirling at his target, striking him squarely.

Marshal fired another seeing his comrade go down. He frowned as he didn't reload his crossbow, but moved trying to get closer to the enemy so he could get his axe into the business.

Hearing a body fall Petra rushes toward the door (111) and hisses "Don't kill him! We have questions!"

Athriel falls to the ground, dropping his unloaded crossbow.

Now without a weapon in his hand, Ty launches himself at the man and attempts to beat him unconscious with his fists.

Athriel releases his grasp on his crossbow, sending it falling to the ground... with the weakened half-elf tumbling down after it. Petra, hearing a body fall, rushes toward the door and hisses "Don't kill him! We have questions!"

The cornered mage sends an orb of acid hurling at Ty, but the orb misses its mark, catching part of the crumbling wall instead.

Marshal witnessing his comrade go down, frowns as he sends another bolt at the arcane caster, which misses. He advances closer, looking to engage in melee with his axe. Ty, having just thrown his ranged weapon, launches himself at the the opponent... who successfully stabs the lunging half-elf with a dagger (-2 hp), barely causing his grapple attempt to fail but is unsuccessful in his grapple attempt.
