Re: XI. Hunclay's Manor
Fulp will wait just a moment for any slicing blades to fall on the dwarf before following him and Sparrow to the door.

Re: XI. Hunclay's Manor
My mistake. I wasn't looking at the map when I resolved Sparrow's door-kicking results, and just assumed he kicked open the door on the eastern wall. Correcting now.
Sparrow kicks open the door in the western wall and the door bursts open to reveal a hallway, with doors on the north and south sides near its end. On the opposite side of the room, Grim carefully opens the door on the eastern wall which opens into a kitchen, with cabinets in the northeast corner of the room and along the western wall from the door to the southern wall. There are two doors on the southern wall, and a curtained off area behind the curtains in the northeast corner. Ciar navigates from the north side of the room, and the birds, to the south, and the stairs, avoiding walking on the rugs. The halfling makes the journey safely, and begins to study each individual step intently, looking for any hint of irregularity.
The stairway appears safe.

"Looks like everyone wants to do something different. Good. Maybe we'll get this search done in less than two days!"
Ciar carefully climbs up the stairs, holding tightly onto the hand rails in case the stairs suddenly collapse beneath him and turn into a chute.

Re: XI. Hunclay's Manor
I got a couple of doors down here that I will check out. If I'm not back in 15 minutes....... just wait longer, he says jokingly.
I will yell loudly if I get into a jam.
Sparrow disappears down the hallway.

Kassal climbs the stairs some ten feet below the halfling.

Greys Campaign.
Re: XI. Hunclay's Manor
Grim does indeed enter the room...
Re: XI. Hunclay's Manor
Sparrow completes his investigation of the passage beyond the western door and returns to the main entry room, joining Sylvan who remained behind to keep watch while the rest spread out to expedite the search.

Sylvan pulls himself away from the birds, having been absorbed in learning their behavior. "Find anything, my friend?" he asks Sparrow.

Re: XI. Hunclay's Manor
Sparrow joins his brother in arms.
There are two rooms down that hall. One is a dining room that is void of anything of interest, the other, some kind of sitting parlor, is full of interesting items that look as though they may have some value.
I checked around a little but didn't find anything of interest to our reason for being here. I bet the gnome would know more about what the devices in the parlor are used for. Probably for studying the stars or some such thing I'm guessing.
Where should we check next? Is there a sub level to this place you think?

Sylvan and Sparrow, in the entry room, hear a loud scraping sound coming from some room off to the east. A moment later, the pair hear a male begin to weep uncontrollably.

Re: XI. Hunclay's Manor
Sparrow rushes to the kitchen doorway and peers in. He listens to see if the crying is coming from that room or possibly somewhere else. On the way, he addresses Sylvan.
You hear that Syl? Does that sound like one of our guys?

Re: XI. Hunclay's Manor
Sparrow peers into the kitchen, which remains well stocked with all the accoutrements needed to prepare gourmet meals. Cabinets are found in the northeast corner of the room, and also along the western wall, leading from the door they just entered from down to the southern wall. There are two doors on the southern wall, and a curtained off area behind the curtains in the northeast corner. The easternmost door has been opened and reveals what is nothing more than a well-stocked pantry.
Directly to his right, in the southwest corner of the room, Grim and Fulp are still standing at the second, now opened door in the kitchen area, which appears to be a bedroom.
The wailing is coming from within.

Re: XI. Hunclay's Manor
Sparrow sees his friends just standing there and immediately presses his fingers tight to his ears, trying to stop any sound from getting through.
He rushes over to see what the fuss is and if his friends are indeed alright. If they aren't stuck in place by some spell, he shouts loudly at them.
ARE YOU GUYS OK? WHAT DID YOU FIND IN HERE?

Fulp calls out to the whining voice,
Who are you? What are you doing here?

Re: XI. Hunclay's Manor
Fulp and Grim become aware of Sparrow's appearance behind them, but stay focused on the wailing sound coming from beneath the bed in the room they just unbarricaded. Fulp calls out, asking the weeping voice to identify itself, but there is no response or reduction in reaction from the man beneath the bed.

"Come on man, we're surely all friends here asure. What ails you?"
Grim makes no move into the room.

Re: XI. Hunclay's Manor
Sparrow is glad to see that his friends aren't under some sort of hex so he takes his fingers out of his ears and consequently, stops yelling.
Did you actually see someone under there? Could this be some sort of wizardly trick? A talking mouth or whatever it's called?

Re: XI. Hunclay's Manor
Grim's attempt at consoling the crying man beneath the bed is unsuccessful; the weeping continues, but may seem to be slightly less intense.
