That, and the woodworking proficiency or skill. I'd fail my check. Miserably.

Would woodworking fall under:
intelligence (what kind of wood is this?),
wisdom (measure twice cut once),
dexterity (how nimble the hands are),
constitution(how many fingers are left)?
Mine would be Charisma, because if it doesn't look good, then I've failed.

In all seriousness, it is really a combination of several things.

St Francis of Assisi is attributed the following quote:
He who works with his hands is a laborer.
He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman.
He who works with his hands, his head, and his heart is an artist.

I like the way he put it.

If I tell you, you wouldnt be amazed the next time I do it. (but honestly, I think it was more out of pity that he bestowed those points...)

I can assure everyone, all awarded experience points were properly earned. Contrary to previous statements, I may occasionally post a snapshot of the current experience point totals I have recorded for each character, such as these (modified) totals:

Jareth Cutter: 173
Gwillt ap Rhys: 248
Garth Malschionnay: 50 / 55
Shannigans McLookout: 75 / 83
Ewell D'Alton: 195
Kaltar: 184

Those that have their already updated their character sheets have done so properly. A few of you have not, most likely due to the very recent rewarding of said points, but your totals should match the above. If not, please let me know and we can work to verify the accurate amount (remember, though, that the burden of proof lies with the player).

Excellent start so far, guys, at least from where I'm sitting.

Reason: Kaltar's experience point bonus: (xp * 1.6) or (115 * 1.6) = 184

I know it isn't required, but I also know it isn't difficult.

It really just depends on the players. There are a few options, though.

I have no problem with spoils to the victors. By that, I mean only those directly involved in a fight get a share of that loot. Like the current example - if Gwillt had recovered anything useful from the two goblins he killed, he would have pocketed whatever it was without thinking twice about it. And I'm good with taking time after each encounter to properly divide loot, as well. Everyone takes care of their own spoils. And if someone doesn't want anything due them, then others have the chance to take it. For example, if someone wants to lug around six short swords to see if they can sell them to the local blacksmith in town, then they're welcome to do so...

Other parties will do something where one person collects all the loot (jewelry, coin, gems, etc.) and then they'll divide it out later. Since we're really focusing on encumbrance and weight, I don't think that's fair to the one person holding all the coins all the time.

But certainly we should put it up to a party vote.

My vote is: To the victors go the spoils. Divide loot after the encounter. Everyone carry their own.

What does everyone else vote re: treasure/loot?

Alethan: split only among those active in the fight, split when possible, each carry his own
Onlyme: doesn't matter
Saalaria: even split, one carries all and split it up later
Computer+1: ?
Nuke66: ?
Stonjuz: ?

I'm fine with going to an even split, but Gwillt isn't trusting enough to let someone else carry his, nor does he want to carry someone else's loot.

Jareth is not concerned about money, I think he would want to do an even split between everyone regardless of how active they were in the fight.

Bing vs Google

#160 Post by dmw71 »

Bing vs Google
http://www.bingiton.com/

I have to admit, I have been a huge advocate of Google (their Easter eggs are the best!), but Bing really surprised me. I've rematched the two search engines several times, searching for a wide variety of topics, and many times I find myself actually preferring Bing. I'm not prepared to formally switch search engines, but I am intrigued and will almost certainly be giving Bing an opportunity.

Anyone else willing to compare the two and share their thoughts afterwards?
