Don't worry Coleridge. I know this is all new to you, so when your character's ready to jump onto the scene we'll make it work

Put up a thread for all your Job/Bounty/Rumor needs!
For the Bittori-Daksha specimen run, Shefelbine provided you with a contact line for use when you're in Bittori-space.

Re: OOC Discussion
Are there any other rulebooks I should acquire other than the free pdf from drivethrurpg?
Also, does anyone recommend buying the core rule book? Man, I'd love another hardcopy book for the shelf behind my desk.

Re: OOC Discussion
Other Dust is a little helpful but not necessary. I would recommend the core book more to support the developer than additional content it offers. All of the supplements are pretty neat.

Yes, the core is pretty awesome in itself, and I do enjoy all the supplements. For the purposes of this game you won't need anything beyond the Core, but if you or anyone else has questions about the other supplements let me know!
Re: OOC Discussion
Mister-Kent, the only two I don't own are the Core edition and Hard Light. Would you say that the Core edition is worth it? It just adds AI, Mech, and Culture, right?

Re: OOC Discussion
Thanks for the bday wishes
I think those two books are good purchases from a GM perspective, but if you're just playing they may not offer as much as one might expect.
I haven't used the AI or Mech rules in a game yet. I have used Society rules to develop some worlds though. Again, I think it's a good purchase to support Sine Nomine, and I do plan on using those rules, just haven't yet.
Hard Light is an interesting standout from the other supplements because it feels more like a sandbox adventure module than a supplement book. It has cool info about creating ancient sky tombs (read: space dungeons) but unless you're going to GM it it might not be for you. It is good reading material though.

Re: OOC Discussion
I have been considering GMing one here. I didn't really want to steal this one's thunder and was a little wary of the time commitment aspect..

Not gonna lie, it can be a lot to handle, but it can also be a lot of fun! If you ever feel the urge to GM at Unseen Servant, I encourage you to do so

I decided to try it, Mister-Kent: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=4176
Re: OOC Discussion
Thanks for the tips. I went ahead and ordered the hardcover to support the publisher.
I found this related thing while go ogling for resources. Looks promising...

Re: OOC Discussion
Enoch, Explosiveghast and Rhal haven't posted in a while. Are you guys still playing? I'm hopeful Glintwine will show up soon too but should we move along with just the four of us (with Cole joining on Amir) for now?

Re: OOC Discussion
I will be posting the approach/landing on Amir tonight. Hopefully everyone who hasn't chimed in on the Amir thread will do so, but we can surely proceed with a reduced crew if we've lost anyone...
Re: OOC Discussion
Don't worry, I will be joining the crew soon.

Hey gang! Yup, I am still here. Unfortunately, I had a PC crash and a whole lot of overtime lately. Insert excuses and stuff.
I will post for Madoshi in a few. The old coot is super interested in the seeder technology...

Re: OOC Discussion
Sorry to hear about the crash, but glad to see you back! Moved your catch-up post to Prelude, and I'll respond there.
Re: OOC Discussion
We could roleplay this, but to save a few back and few posts of conversation, I thought I should ask here. Is Guy asking Michael to go with the party directly to the gray zone? I think it's a bit more prudent to go to the menagerie that our DM is directing us to first to see what the deal with the wildlife is before jumping into a potentially more dangerous situation....
I will say so in character, but just wanted to make sure that's what I was reading.

Re: OOC Discussion
I read it as "let's regroup and make a plan on the ship." That is why I wanted to plant a mic so we can still get some plot info while rectifying what is essentially an OOC problem.
Honestly, I would rather hand-waive it with a brief narrative that establishes as a member of the crew. The "do we trust this new teammate" thing is counterproductive and best avoided, IMHO. We already waived for the rest of the crew, I was confused that we were adding you in this way.

Re: OOC Discussion
Ok, whatever Mr. Kent wants is ok with me. If you read it that way, my character will respond appropriately. I haven't read all of the back story before I got here.
