Good here liked the posts with the images of the three ships we now have.

Re: OOC Thread
no worries, they are already up in the standard mode. thou if you think we need to angle them, call something out, like, "sooo, how do you angel shields again?" so the pilot or I know to take that off your hands.
as for shooting, trying and failing is better then not trying at all.

Re: OOC Thread
yeah I'm thinking angle the shields may be beneficial to us at the range but once they get closer might be a different story.

Re: OOC Thread
if i add in angle the shields during the maneuver, (4d+1) then my blaster shoot would be at -1d = 4d.Gavin "If you've a moment Jackson, do you think we can angle the shields until we are closer?"
was thinking that we go on Fraaks pilot skill for now: 4d, + Sublight Speed: (+2) +, Maneuverability: (+1), plus range: medium +20, to keep us safe, so the two of us had the best chance to blast the SOB in the first go.
my theory, to keep yourself from getting a broken nose, KILL your opponent before he can hurt you.
maybe i should change my signature to, "their ain't no kill, like Overkill! =D "
now that i think of it, i should jump from co-pilot to the other gunner/sensor station to get the full fire control and system bonuses, since we have a dedicated pilot. ... next turn

Re: OOC Thread
alright so then just leave the shields normal i guess. It was more of a suggestion from Gavin than an actual demand or order.

Re: OOC Thread
You've mostly got it right there Ski; only a couple of minor things.
At the moment the range is Medium; Difficulty number 15. The Speed factor only comes into play when ships are trying to close or increase the range....it won't affect the Difficulty number for hitting a ship. The Maneuverability does though; and yes; Farak can (and will) do a Full Evasion to add his Piloting Skill roll (4D) plus the Shuttle's Maneuverability rating (+1) to the base Difficulty number....15 this round; but will be 10 next round as the TIEs are DEFINITELY closing.
I'm gonna give Angelic a bit more time to make a post before I throw up the next action post later today/tomorrow; but I'd make a recommendation for La'Reth to basically just keeping doing a Full Evasion every turn. This will give a 3D roll (2D MECH + 1D Maneuverability) to add to the Difficulty number for anyone shooting at the Out Runner. It's just a thought; but of course, you can do whatever you like!
-Okay; so I've got Clark going to the Laser Turret controls this round
-Farak doing a Full Evasion at the Pilot's seat of the Shuttle
-Gavin taking a shot with one of the Shuttle's Turrets at the TIE fighter squaring off against them
-Jackson doing the same with the other Turret at the same TIE fighter; but at the Co-pilot station (so no Fire Control bonus)
-Zinn taking a shot at the TIE fighter facing off against him (with what weapon/weapons?...I will default to the Assault Laser if not told otherwise. Also; do you have the Targeting laser engaged?)
-La'Reth doing.....?...(I will default to him making Evasive maneuvers if not told otherwise)
Everybody doing okay?

Then that is exactly what he'll be doing! Just basically trying not to get us all killed!max_vale wrote:I'm gonna give Angelic a bit more time to make a post before I throw up the next action post later today/tomorrow; but I'd make a recommendation for La'Reth to basically just keeping doing a Full Evasion every turn. Re: OOC Thread
right. i'm just playing the odds. farak's evasion, 4d+1+15, averages out to about a 28-32 roll. the average role being 3 or 4 on multiple dice. my shield roll from the co-pilot seat is only 4d+1. for the shield angle to work, id have to beet the Tie's 5d+1dFC roll, and only IF, he beets faraks roll.alright so then just leave the shields normal i guess. It was more of a suggestion from Gavin than an actual demand or order.
in return, we have the best chance to blow the Tie away in the first go, before it starts to evade. even if we don't, i'll jump to the other system seat next turn to get the +1d shields and FC bonus, so ill have a good chance to beat the Tie gunnery roll.
i stayed in the co-pilot seat because i thought i was going to be driving the buss. oh well

if things get too harry, i can always jump in the stored b-wing to give us more fire power. sure that mean venting the cargo hold into space, but if the verpine are strapped into the seats, they wont get blown out. then all you have to do from the cockpit, is close the doors again, and re-pressurize the hold with the emergency life support system. the air will be thin, and it would be Really cold, like sitting on a mountain top, but they'd be alive. Mostly. i think.

and yes, I'm good with my action for this turn.

Re: OOC Thread
Um no; the time it takes to get the B-Wing unstrapped (which requires the Cargo ramp to be lowered as well for the clamps on the end nearest the cargo ramp) means the Verpine won't survive in the Cargo Hold. You can cram 3-5 in the Cockpit; but the others won't make it. So; while it remains an option; it's not a pretty one. Sorry.
Also; the TIEs will be evading AND shooting this turn; but the evasion is the Quick version; which means whatever the Piloting + Maneuverability roll is will be the new Difficulty number; which can be good or bad; depending….next post coming up in a bit after I make all the rolls….let's see what happens!

Re: OOC Thread
Ski: No worries!
Everybody: Okay; the first round is over and now everyone has an opponent at short range. If Jackson wants to switch seats; that will take the whole round. Zinn's B-Wing is down to 1D shields; pretty much nothing else to say at the moment!

Re: OOC Thread
well Gavin is attempting more shots with the guns but really he would be far better off if he was trying to shoot with his own blaster out of the ship. So he is confessing and asking for assistance.

Re: OOC Thread
Hey there Grey: Metagame moment; while you never know what the dice will do; statisically now that they are at close range; and in all probability likely to continue shooting; this means they can only do 'quick evasions' as opposed to 'full evasions' (unless they decide they DON'T want to shoot). This means that a typical TIE pilot with 4D in both skills (Piloting and Gunnery); taking two actions; will have his skills reduced to 3D for each. With a Fire Control of 1D for the TIE's twin lasers; he'll be rolling 4D to hit 10 + whatever Farak rolls on his 4D Piloting roll if he continues doing Full Evasions (which he probably will), +1 for the Shuttle's Maneuverability. Or in other words; probably trying to beat a low to mid 20s Difficulty number on 4 dice…no easy task to say the least.
On the other hand; to hit HIM; you will be rolling 4D (3D MECH + 1D Fire Control) to hit a Difficulty number rolled on 4D+2 (3D piloting + 1D+2 Manueverability)…so while you're a bit behind the 8 ball; it's not THAT unlikely!
Hope that helps!
Jedi: I went with 2 assumptions; the first that when you fired at the TIE; you meant the Assault Laser; and second: that the targeting laser is on and active. My apologies if these were NOT your intentions; you can switch the targeting laser off for 'free' or switch weapons as well for 'free'; in terms of actions in a round.

Re: OOC Thread
That does make me feel a little better about it. Perhaps one day Gavin will learn Gunnery and maybe shields as well.

I'm fine leaving things as they are. I didn't mention anything about the computer or which weapon, so no worries.
Re: OOC Thread
I'm thinking of saving Clark's last Force Point for when we have to deal with the Frigate... or should I burn it now to help take down the Tie Fighters? Thoughts?...
