The hunters all look at one another in awe. The original elf speaks up "We have heard stories of such we did not think they were real tales. I wish you luck in this quest." the other hunters nod their agreement with the statement. Then the halfling speaks again "I don't think these were anything but large dire wolves. They acted like over-sized wolves as far as I could see in the dark of night. I don't think they walked on hind legs alone."

Arastor eyes Mathias skeptically. "I beg to differ. Wolves are part of the natural order and should be treated as such. Indiscriminate killing of them upsets nature's balance. But dire wolves are an abomination and should be hunted and brought down."

The hunter party sits in silence a bit eating milling over the new news as well as the halflings words. Then after what seams like a hour but really turns out to be only about 10 minutes the Elf and apparent leader of the party declares "If we see this pack of dire wolves we will hunt them down to ensure the safety of others. I wish our halfling friend had told us sooner. We could have done something about this sooner. We wish you all good fortune in your quest and hope we will see you when we go to North Vale next week. We sell our hunt to some of the local merchants there." the hunting party finishes their lunch and sets to the woods there is about another thirty minutes of time the party can socialize with them before Rethor informs everyone it is time to move on or you wont make it far before having to set a camp up. By the time the party moves out it will be 1:15pm.

Pheras mutters a "Good luck" to the hunters, but with his low voice, they might not have heard it.

The hunters smile at Pheras's well wishes to them. They bid the party farewell as they begin moving off into the woods for the hunt is afoot.

Rethor gets the cart back onto the road then gets back upon his horse and takes up the lead "When you're all ready I'll once more lead onward." he says with the sound of leadership in his tone.

Arastor keeps pace with the group, keeping his eyes scanning the woodline for anything that could cause harm.

Brother Wilken is relaxing in the cart, enjoying the scenery.

... with the weather getting cooler, this might be a good time to start looking for either apples or a late grain harvest ... perhaps a cider ... or apple jack.

The party moves out Rethor takes the lead everyone else falls into their marching order. Which I had forgotten to get since we have a whole party once more. Please post a marching order in OOC topic.
Rethor continues on still a fine travel with little to no events for the next 2 hours after the lunch break. Time is now roughly 2:30pm sunny a delightful day on the road north. When Rethor stops and signals to the party to hold up. Rethor dismounts and scouts the road ahead then comes running back after only a few moments. He signals to the party to take up positions and you can see why. About 20' behind Rethor are 10 figures following him in pursuit. The party recognizes them as Gnolls!

Canis(Crow) quickly unslings his bow and nocks an arrow, taking aim briefly and letting the arrow soar towards the upcoming group.

Crow Long Bow: [1d20+2] = 5+2 = 7, Damage: S/M[1d6] = 2, L[1d6] = 5

Mentally cursing himself and nocking another arrow, this time letting the creatures get closer...
