[Continued] - Quirin/Dwarves - 5 April, 1 VC
Re: Expedition - Quirin/Dwarves - 5 April, 1 VC
To be fair to me, the Duke is the one offering the reward for the black beast, and he's a known miser.
Re: Expedition - Quirin/Dwarves - 5 April, 1 VC
Then what about your 1,000 gold piece reward and the undying friendship of the Firedeep Clan? Are these things you'd sacrifice solely to satisfy your Fangir man-crush?sulldawga wrote:I was thinking we needed to speak with Dorvar as soon as we got back to town.OGRE MAGE wrote:Wait till the Thane finds out that a Dwarf already has the ring.
I'm also thinking we need to give the ring to Fangir, not to the Thane.
Re: Expedition - Quirin/Dwarves - 5 April, 1 VC
Sorry, options are Labyrinth/Black Tower (on way back to Vaul) or the carved door (on the way back to Vaul) or Crystal Lake (which we won't one-shot but we can at least begin to explore).
Quirin still votes for Crystal Lake. Exploration XP!
Note to Keehnelf: did Quirin ever get any vibes out of carrying around the staff?

Once Fangir becomes the rightful Thane of the Firedeep Clan, he can hook us up with the GP. I suspect the ring is a symbol of rulership.Keehnelf wrote:Then what about your 1,000 gold piece reward and the undying friendship of the Firedeep Clan? One always runs the risk of a mutiny with a decision like that. But at least Rhodri and Numen aren't here to stab you in the back.Keehnelf wrote:Then what about your 1,000 gold piece reward and the undying friendship of the Firedeep Clan? Let's decide that one (as a group) once we get the ring. Far be it from me to deny any of our more... monetarily-motivated colleagues.

I'll side with Quirin. Crystal Lake for me too.

Very vague things, stirrings and subtle sensations. Nothing you can put your finger on, however.sulldawga wrote:Sorry, options are Labyrinth/Black Tower (on way back to Vaul) or the carved door (on the way back to Vaul) or Crystal Lake (which we won't one-shot but we can at least begin to explore).

Abi votes for going to the lake.

Im no stranger to being out in the wilds for extended periods of time! Let's go find this lake! Fresh fish sounds great right about now!
And if we all ain't dead before we get there, we might even find this fancy ring that they want so badly.

OK, 4 for the lake sounds like a quorum. Which direction will you head from the dwarf hold?
Also, please add 7 days' rations apiece.

"To the lake" exclaims Crivit.
I assume he's told everyone about how his wonderful divine powers showed that the Thane isn't evil.

"the nearest shore of Crystal Lake lies three days' travel overland to the northeast, skirting the edge of the eastern wood."
This sounds like as good a plan as any. We'll go northeast until we hit the eastern wood, then around it.
Are these iron rations, can we assume?

Late reply here, but Galen is good to head to the Lake as well.

A week's worth of food makes Crivit happy indeed. He journeys with the others in a splendid mood.

Quirin is our leader, where he decides, Krysta will follow.
Did she get to show her helm to any of the dwarves? She was going to ask them about the amethysts inside. I think I mentioned it when we first arrived at the hold.
7 days iron rations added.

Winter is coming...

Yeah, just didn't get around to it, sorry!
Krysta chats with a couple of dwarves who point her toward an older one who was once a smith but has not had steady work since the clan relocated to this area and has poor facilities. He indicates that gemstones inside helmets were usually used as a basis for runesmiths to enhance the perception of mental faculties of those wearing the helmet. For dwarf-constructed items, the effects were usually very subtle since their magic is connected to drawing from existent energies and slowly and subtly shaping or influencing them, rather than exerting significant force on established patterns.

I think we're ready to go, Keehnelf. We'll head out to the NE until we hit the Eastern Woods.

Yeah just been a very busy day, juggling lots of stuff.
I work for University of Oregon, you might have heard that our football team is heading down south for a little game in a couple of days--needless to say, I am involved in at least some parts of that effort. Oof.
