[Closed] Briarbeard Tavern (Vaul) - II
Re: Briarbeard Tavern (Vaul) - II
"Aye, we offer monthly contracts for routine work--guarding work sites, caravan escorts, garrison for castles and forts and the like. There's me--I'm the captain of the company and the guild's director, treasurer and chief enforcer. We also have young Jord, still a bit wet around the ears but a hard worker--skilled too. Then Mormoth, who took coin from the Bronze Princes for a few years during their civil wars a while back and has seen his share of fighting. What's your need?"
She eyes Numen shrewdly. "Or perhaps you're considering joining? We could use an elf for specialty work for sure."

"My need is...uncertain," Numen answers. "I do know I'll be needing assistance soon."
He is taken aback slightly when asked about joining. "Join?" He says it slowly, contemplating the concept.
He shakes his head. "How would such an arrangement work? I remain in town, and you bring me assignments?"

Abi will return to the dwarves when the party forms

"Yes. We'd assess your skills to determine what appropriate rates would be for your services, you'd be bound by your agreement with the guild to a certain set of standards and expectations, like always fulfilling contracts and the like. You can seek out your own work, or take on contracts through us as they become available."

Re: Briarbeard Tavern (Vaul) - II
Numen raises an open hand. "I will consider it. I must confess--I have already vowed my loyalties to An Other, in deed and heart, if not by word. I would refuse any jobs that oppose his plans."
"I await word from an ally on when it is time to leave town. When it comes, I shall return and hire one of your men, if he stands available."
Numen will spend some days in town, but not sure how many just yet...

"Well, we definitely don't take membership from those who owe fealty already--it's far more trouble than it's worth. If your situation changes, though, let us know: and in this territory we don't have any conflicts of allegiance yet so keep us in mind if your lord requires services like ours".
Re: Briarbeard Tavern (Vaul) - II
Quirin will return to the dwarves, and is willing to pay his share to hire one of the mercs if we need more muscle.
Re: Briarbeard Tavern (Vaul) - II
Is this Quirin agreeing to lead the party? There seems to be a consensus on destination, but nobody's taking the reins

Re: Briarbeard Tavern (Vaul) - II
I believe Bertram's running the show but Quirin will step up if he declines.
Re: Briarbeard Tavern (Vaul) - II
That was my assumption, but I prefer the red-text treatment for setting up expeditions so I don't make any errors of judgment. (Haha, like I can avoid that)

April 5
Bertram, Abi, Galen, and Quirin are in. Anyone else up for a trip to see the dwarves?

I assume he's just afk for the holiday, and we'll hear from him soon enough. He posted Monday in his other PC's expedition.

Buryl would join if you want another fighter type.
Otherwise he is about to set out on his own.

Cool! Thanks!
He's a bit surly but he has a strong sword arm.

Krysta would join up to visit the dwarves, if you don't mind another cleric...and a woman who likes to bathe naked in the rain.

Winter is coming...
