This has been a great kicking off point, lots of great characters (literally) in this. I think a dungeon would be kind of neat, that'd be totally out of Gort's comfort zone, so it would be fun to play him in such an area. Seeker, Buckey and Gort in the confines of a dungeon? Look out, bad guys.

Also - sorry my interaction has been a bit more sporadic as of late. Sick children and travel for work has been draining the old batteries. Thanks for the understanding.

I'm enjoying the game a lot, the worlds vibrant, the characters are full of personality, and the story is really exciting. The rules are little confusing, but I don't know any of the other rule sets you mentioned anyways so I'm fine with yours :) . All in all I'm having a lot of fun, I'm with everyone one else so far, a dungeon could be a nice change of scenery. I don't really mind either way though, the encounters you introduce are great, I enjoy trying to put myself into Elktrans shoes and react to the environment. In a week or two I'll be mid switching jobs and (hopefully) I'll be all caught up in school, so i should be a bit more involved by then. Honestly common core is whipping my ass in this math class

Everyone,

Thank you all for your prompt replies. I really appreciate the input. I will continue on as I have. I know some of us have been slow to post occasionally; work and school tend to get in the way sometimes, and I appreciate everyone's patience.

I'm glad everyone is enjoying the campaign so far. And as always, I'm always open to criticism.

Thanks

Buckey would love a deep dungeon full of treasure and monster heads to smash.

Yeah, he meant it mostly about seeker and mister-my-horns-don't-let-me-fit-in-that-important-place :)

I was surprised, I end up not being able to be too active for a couple of days and when I get back you lot are clearing a tower while apparently I was still standing in the canyon shoving food in my mole rats face.

All, I have updated the Spoils of War thread. The very first item now has the XP totals for the group. I have added in gp treasure value to the total XP. If you have any questions please feel free to shout em out. You may update your character sheets accordingly.

Thanks

I must apologize for my recent hiatus. School and work have apparently teamed up in an effort to destroy my sanity, what is left of it anyway. Completing one of my many projects/presentations for one class today so I should have a brief time frame to breath a bit. Please feel free to shout obscenities or nasty remarks in my direction as you see fit.

Thank you for your continued patience.

Oh, definitely. I would only use the "Actions" line for brief statements of intent. Like: Attacking, searching, etc. I don't care most of the time if you even use it or not. Some of us use it for silly little quips and whatnot I think. It mainly gives me a quick summary of your actions.

I would much rather you detail out your character's action, being as specific as possible, than use the "Actions" line at all. I don't get too excited about that line.
Oh - is this permission for me to stop using the "Actions" line? If you do not care for it, Antman, I'll gladly stop using it. : )

Antman9 wrote:Hello all,

We have nearly come to the end of your first quest as zero level characters. I know it has not been all that exciting thus far. I chose an easy canned adventure, for the first adventure plot, that I have modified for my own personal tastes. My personal preference is for the dungeon crawl, but I thought I would start out with something different for a change. It is at this point that I would like to get some feedback from everyone to see where everyone wants to move from this point.

What did you like/dislike so far?
What type of adventure would you like to move toward next?
Do you want to stick with the rule set currently in place?
Would you rather shift to a 0e/OD&D/Basic D&D rule set?
Would you like to to stick with the campaign oriented, long plot scenarios, or move to one-shot adventures?

I have shifted my tabletop session to a basic 0e rule set, where the characters have started their own Dungeoneers Guild and their only purpose is to pillage dungeons for wealth and glory. They really seem to be enjoying it.

I have plenty of plot scenarios ready for a long campaign, but want to move in a direction that meets all of the group needs. So lay it on me!

I have started a website with the core rules, races, and classes for my 0e tabletop sessions. I haven't posted all of the information yet, but I'm working on it. I'm also planning on adding my current rule set once I've completed that for 0e. (link below)

Thanks

What did you like/dislike so far?
I find the writing on the part of the DM to be compelling and interesting. The NPCs are likewise enjoyable and fun to interact with. As far as the playstyle I can't complain - but I probably lean away from sandbox re: my preferences and I also enjoy a game with a high level of danger where death is a real possibility.
What type of adventure would you like to move toward next?
Wilderness and Dungeon Crawl are both fun! No preference.
Do you want to stick with the rule set currently in place?
Would be OK with that.
Would you rather shift to a 0e/OD&D/Basic D&D rule set?
I do have a soft spot for the classic rules (0e, 1e, 2e)
Would you like to to stick with the campaign oriented, long plot scenarios, or move to one-shot adventures? Either is OK with me.

Well....

What does 3 group projects + 2 research papers + 1 massive final + The Flu (during finals week) equal?

A royal pain in my arse, that's what!

Sorry for the disappearance the last few weeks. Hopefully I haven't lost any of you. So far we have encountered a crazy grey-bearded wizard, a white crow/looney fairy, a talking angry tree, ugly Molerats, a nearly deserted town, a hermit Druid, a knight in search of an evil Cleric and Priest, strange rumors, Giant Bunnies, living dead and dead living creatures, Orcs, Half-Orcs, glow-in-the-dark Scorpions, and a crazy red-bearded stranger.

How about we do a few fun things now?

I don't mind one bit Antman, it actually worked out rather well for me. I've also been having a whole bunch of crazyness swarm into my life between school, work, dying family members and a girlfriend... It seems like a lot of people are getting it rough these days. Anyways, I've enjoyed every bit of the game and I'm fine with the current rule set. The only other one I know is 2e anyways :)
I do like the idea of a dungeon crawl and I think that would be a fun venture, Sols post basically summed up my preferences in one fell swoop. Especially that tidbit about the threat of death looming, although my character is a bit uh... Puny in some senses ;) Personally I don't mind if you take your time at all, it's not a big deal to me.
