"I believe Varas and Dorvar have bows, long and cross, and Harold and Master Wendall have darts and slings," Olympia tells the new companion, doing her best to whisper though it is clearly uncomfortable for her. "My faith in Fortis' Strength bids I only use my lovely hammer!"

"The Wendall could do his signature sleep trick," suggests Harold as he readies his sling.

Valorei nods his head in understanding, "I see, then shall we follow with the ambush plan? Or does anyone have another plan? Those wolves could prove to be a problem, it would be best if we could kill them before they reach us, that or some how remove their mobility..."

Valorei looks over the goblins and wolves assembled, Checking to see which goblins had which kind of weapons, does any of them have bows? Type of weapons?, He then looks over to Wendall, "Do you know the sleep spell? That would make our ambush much more easier."

"We've faced these foes several times now, Valorei. Aim for the goblins. We find that when we remove their masters, the wolves tend to flee" smiles Varas.

The goblins all seem to have spears and short swords, except one that has a short bow and short sword.

Waiting for The Wendall to chime in about whether he wants to run his usual trick or not.

Valorei gives Varas a blank look before shifting a smile and nod, "Of course, you all would know best." He now comments to everyone quietly, "If young Wendall does indeed not know the sleep spell I would suggest those with bows aim for the one with the short bow first." he points the one out subtly before quickly adding, "That is if you all agree, being the resident experts on goblin combat."

Wendall gives both of these newcomers a cross look.

You came out here with a charm and the ability to read magic? What's wring with you two? This is serious business out here. We better have a talk about spells before we rest tonight. Now....... step back please if you know how to do that.

Wendall cracks his knuckles and goes through his now familiar routine of sleeping the enemy.

Valorei scoots back while suppressing a chuckle at Wendell, allowing him to sleep the monsters, Valorei has his spear in hand, readying to end the monsters, whether they sleep or not.

Surprise Round Summary:

Waiting to see who gets slept and who doesn't before firing means you lose the surprise round, but at least you've got distance.

Goblin saves [4d20s16] = 3
Sleeping goblins (4 has bow) [1d4] = 1

Wolf save [3d20s16] = 0

3 goblins stay up despite the magic--including the one with the bow--but all three of the wolves immediately fall asleep where they had been lying on the wet grass awaiting their masters' next commands. The one goblin that fell asleep lands face-first in the pile of sticks they had been assembling to build and fire, and the impact is so sudden that the other three immediately are shocked out of their routine to scan the area, where they spot the Wendall just finishing his arcane gestures.

Actions and initiative! The goblins are 60 feet away.

Varas chuckles at The Wendall's dressing down of his two fellow mages. "Well done, boy!" he cries as he unleashes one of his new arrows at the bow-armed goblin. I'm assuming he's standing in front of Wendall given actions posted earlier.

Valorei is huddled down next to Olympia, his spear in hand, waiting for the goblins come closer so that the ranged members can have a volley or two. He uses his shoulder to nudge Olympia, giving her a playful grin, "First one to kill a goblin owes the others a drink eh?"

What the hell are you all doing? We can't sit here and wait for them to come to us! They could just wake the others and the sleep spell will be useless! Attack! Now!

Wendall begins to move forward waving his arms and shouting Boogie Boogie Boogie! with the hopes that the conscious goblins move away from the sleepers and charge our group.

Varcand will cast Charm Person on one of the Goblins.

"You've been betrayed," he will then shout. "Kill them before they kill you!"

Valorei watches Wendall run down the hill screaming incoherently, he gives the others a simple shrug with a grin as he rises, charging towards the goblins as well.

As he runs down the hill he begins to veer off instead of running directly at the goblins but instead arcing towards the left to attack them from the side, his spear at the ready.
