To the bikers, I'm glad to hear that, guys. I have no problems with you two, or your friend for that matter, as long as he is healthy. I won't lie- seeing those things and knowing he was bitten terrifies me. I really hope we can find some medicine that can cure him, but it doesn't look good.

Derek then goes about gathering supplies.
You find an old large duffle bag in the break room. Plenty of supplies. (food, drink)

Chance heads to Mel's office and knocks on his door. If no answer, he'll talk through the door "We don't think it's safe here. We're heading somewhere more defensible."

He then helps Derek gather supplies, double-bagging trash bags if no sacks can be found to hold them. While doing so he keeps his ears open to hear what the others learn from their observations.
Plenty of strong garbage bags. A few cardboard boxes. Derek found a duffel bag.

Mel yells out frantically.
Stay away from me!!! Im warning you!! Just go!

Chingy knows a bit about robberies.

He begins to search around by the cash register and under the counter in that area looking for any weapons.

Chingy thats my brother you are talking about ditchin. But I cannot deny from what I see outside on some of dead walkers. It looks like some of their should of been survivable. If he goes crazy I will put him down myself.

Chingy

That's good to hear man. I don't want to do anything drastic but, keep in mind that it might have to come to that.

You look around the register, which to your surprise is open! Underneath the counter is a wooden baseball bat.

Chance, storage room

Chance shrugs his shoulders. "There's safety in numbers, Mel. When we leave, some of those biters will probably get in. I don't think this flimsy office door will hold for long."

He heads to the store room, and fills two double trash bags with supplies then brings them out to the front. "Right, so what's the plan? Sounds like from your discussions there are 20-30 of those biters out there. How about we use a long stick to open the fire exit, let one or two in, and see how tough they are to deal with? I'd like to know what we're getting into with a whole shitload out there."

Chingy

Grabbing the bat and the big bills (if noones looking) Chingy responds to Chance.

Thats probably a good idea. Let one in and we can figure out what we need to do to....... ah........ incapacitate them?

He then pulls out the registers tray to look for a small gun underneath.

Whitey-Biker

Lets start by shutting off the light and going into the back kitchen. If they cannot see us maybe they will wonder off.Whitey looking for a weapon of some sort with length on it. So he does have to be within biting range. A chair or mop handle to fend off attacks.

Chance, dining area

Chance lays out a plan. "Let's look for a rope or extension cord to tie to the handle of the fire exit door. We can open it from a distance then shut it by pulling on the cord after one of those things enters. The entrance hallway is narrow so we should be able to manage."

"We'll see how dangerous these things are."

Chance looks around for a long extension cord or rope-like material.

The door is a push bar door, no handle to tie too, but could probably be pushed open from a distance- but not very far.

You hear some moving around. Actually, the door looks to be solid wood, and seems pretty strong. Better than the other interior doors.

"If you have a trouble-free plan, enlighten the rest of us" snaps Chance. "What are the alternatives? Stay in here? They will eventually break the glass. Charge out there without knowing their capabilities? Doesn't sound smart to me. I'm going through with this plan unless I hear a better one."

What about the other back door. Is it also a push bar?

============

Yes, both back doors are the push-bar variety.- Bloodaxe

You find the main circuit in the kitchen. It has several switches- Front, back, sign, outer lights, etc. You can turn off some, and leave others on- or shut them all down.
Its about 11am, its rainy & cloudy, but light enough in the front of the diner, but it would be dark in the back.

Steve B. - Trucker

Steve grabs his truck's tool bag from the booth and moves to the back. He'll fashion a sling handle on it so he can wield the tire-thumper club in one hand and the large pot lid in the other. After he's ready, he moves(pretend fighting the air) in an clear area of the back just to check his mobility.
