Breaking News- The Dead Walk!- Recruiting New Players.
Breaking News.

Im checking interest for a pbp game here, "Diner of the Dead". This will use the RotWorld system from Goblinoid Games. No real knowledge of the rules is needed, just choose your characters actions and I will roll the dice and see how (un?)successful you are.
Diner of the Dead Several people of varying backgrounds & motives are at an out of the way diner when the shit hits the fan.

I have a few character types needed for the scenario:
Night Security Guard
Businessman/Travelling Salesman
Cross-country Trucker
Criminal/Gang Member
Reporter/Journalist
possibly others......

Sounds fun!
I'll play the Criminal/Gang Member! (shouldn't be too much of a stretch for me)

Re: Breaking News- The Dead Walk!
Post here to claim your spot & character. I am a pretty new player to Rotworld, so we can learn the system together. If we don't know, we'll wing it. I did play this scenario before a few years back at Goblinoid Games. There will be a definite starting point, but where you go from there is up to you. I'll keep it as open, sandbox, as possible. You can do almost anything as in the real world, but it will affect your chances to survive. It should be fun. A lot of ROLE playing alibi with some ROLL playing.
Fell free to ask any questions. More information will follow soon.

You know I'm here Bloodaxe. I'll go for a rookie police officer severely in over his head.

Ok, I'm new to US and haven't had much luck with PBP games in the past...but I'd love to give this game a try.Bloodaxe wrote:Breaking News.

I'll go with either the security guard or the journalist, depending on how the "dining party" ends up.

Hey Mike!!
Good to see you here.
Just FYI, there's a two post moderation rule. Hope that the reason you didn't finish your first post was because that messed you up.
After you make another post, and it gets approved, you'll be a full fledged member.

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

That went quick. One more spot open- possibly a second. As the game progresses(and people are eaten!) other spots may open up, or an existing player can take a new character.

Thanks for the welcome Ron... Your post about this game at dragonsfoot.org was what got me to come over here and try PBP again. I think zombie apok games could work well with PBP...I guess I'll find out won't I?

Re: Breaking News- The Dead Walk!
You can make a character, but I may have to modify it to fit the game. A decent pic is good too. Your characters will be out of his home element , at a pretty remote country diner. So vehicle & some personal possessions. No guns, weapons, crazy stuff. Also a reason you are there is good too. I handed pretty much all the character stuff before with some player input. But feel free to go ahead, if you don't mind me working with you a bit- you may want to use PM.sieg wrote:Back OT, Bloodaxe; I've got a copy of Rotworld so do I make up a character or will you handle that along with the die rolls and such?
Mike
You can keep things about your character SECRET.

Maybe you are an undercover agent, instead of businessman. Maybe you are drug smuggler, not a trucker. (or both) But for the most part these will be "regular" guys. No retired ninjas, etc.

I'd be inclined to join as a Night Security Guard

Re: Breaking News- The Dead Walk!
Ok, we have room for one more.
Young rookie cop - YBN1197
Trucker- Marcel
Criminal/Biker - OGRE MAGE
Reporter/Journalist- Sieg
Camera man - DocBennie
The businessman/travelling salesman is still open.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Somewhere in Pennsylvania, outside of Philly, is the Golden Gate Diner. You are each there for reasons known only to yourselves. Some for business, pleasure, boredom.....or just a quick bite. Its getting late, around 10 or 11 at night, the Diner isnt very full. A young couple, a small family, a few guys who look like they just got off work...and you. There are only two waitresses on duty, a young brunette and a loud red-head with hair bright enough to rival a fire engine. A scrawny bus boy cleans up & washes dishes. A big bruiser of a cook in the back, handles order and taps a bell when the food is ready.
Its the typical American Diner you've seen a hundred times before. Some well- worn booths, a few tables (complete with gum underneath) and some stools at the counter. The smell of coffee and grease.
Suddenly something strange comes on the news.....

I will just follow the game as a lurker as well uninterested in the businessman/salesman if an opening as a computer tech or ex military or security guard opens let me know.
