(CLOSED) Eddistone Point
Re: Eddistone Point
Buckey, Weary Halfling Traveler {HP: 20/10, AC: 12}
Buckey pulls out his trusty forest-axe, Skullcleaver, and motions for the rest of the party to prepare for combat. "I smell trouble! Either there's been a conscription recently that didn't go well and also targeted dogs and children, or there's been an attack of some kind!"
He smirks a bit to himself,"And before you chide me for pointing out the obvious, you jerks, I'm working on pretty limited intel here. Also, I'm freaking tired."
Buckey will advance as quietly as possible toward the giant "4" carved into the ground and surrounded by bright-green grass to see if he can get among the trees and peer along the road west without being too visible.

Gort - Savage 0 lv (HP: 10/10; AC 11)
Action: Spear at the ready, cautiously advancing w/ Gorthak
Seeing the devastation, Gort shakes his head and says "Gorthak, dis place look worse than stinky elf house. I hope no more ugly mouth things here. If they is, I burn them good. What we do now? See if anyone hurt? Gort help if you want him to."
Gort crouches, sniffing the air, scanning to see if he spots any bad guys or anything amiss (other than a busted up village)
(Rolling an INT check just in case, Difficulty Check Int [3d6-1] = 12-1 = 11

Re: Eddistone Point
Gorthak with his big lucern hammer in hand also used as a sort of walking stick. Stops and smells the air. Being that his kind can fight using sense of smell better than most everyone else in the party. "Be ready for a battle my friend Gort. Buckey is right something is not right here. We help those in need but we must also be ready for enemies to fight. It might be wise to find a dependable location and stay there for the night."

["Seeker" Jyrbian Talanador of the Bleeding Eye - Lvl 0] {HP:4/10} {AC:9}
Action: Standing tall with a pig.
Jyrbian stands with his staff in front of him and his molerat tucked under his arm, surveying the town. He looks over the group, he get a confused look about him for a moment before addressing everyone, "Indeed we must be prepared for the worst. I am glad you all have at least the basic sense of fight or flight, having nothing would be a shame. Such as our lizard friend, it seems he wandered off while we were at that elven hovel and has been left behind. Let us rest here for the night and return to that decrepit little earth dwelling in search for our lizard hireling that follows a god supposedly built on cannibalism."
With that Jyrbian will head over to building (25) and inspect the outside, examining any entrances or windows and listening for movement inside.

Re: Eddistone Point
Buckey saunters over to the giant number “4” on the ground to ascertain its genetic makeup and specific origin. The number itself seems to consist of a heavy granular carbon based material, similar to charcoal but heavier. The bright green grass seems to have been died with some substance, possibly some form of Violet Fungus die obtained from the Underdark.
The building nearby appears to be an old farmhouse. Much of the structure is caved in, but there is still a section at the south end still standing (roughly the south half of the structure). The damage appears to be somewhat old, maybe a month or more. A fine layer of dust covers the damaged areas as well as everything nearby.
Gort and Gorthak, in unison, Gort crouching low, Gorthak standing like a statue, sniff the air for the telltale sign of pheromone or body odor. The air is clean of all molecular signatures. Only the fresh breeze form the arid plains greets their olfactory senses.
Jyrbian inspects structure 25 for sign or spore. It is a simple wooden structure and appears to be intact for the most part. The door stands party open. There are no sounds of any kind in or nearby the structure. It’s looks to be abandoned, and for some time form the state of things.

Re: Eddistone Point
Gorthak goes off with Buckey "I cannot smell anything in the air but the fur on the back of my neck indicates something is still very wrong here." he investigates their surroundings and listens and smells ever so often with his heightened sense of smell he should be able to tell you if a wolf crapped in the woods 5 miles away.

Buckey, Halfling Bravo {HP: 20/10, AC: 12}
"I think we're relatively safe, at least for now, but we should keep our guard up as we explore until we can be sure that all the dillheads who did this are gone."
Buckey will set about cautiously inspecting the intact half of the building, looking for danger, loot, and innocent survivors/witnesses (in that order).

Re: Eddistone Point
Jyrbian finds the building almost empty. It appears that the occupants either left in a hurry or the place has been ransacked. There are no personal belonging of note, nor weapons, armor, or food. What little that is left has been smashed and tossed about. It looks to have been a herdsman dwelling of some kind. Half of the structure is a barn with hay and a few large stalls.
Gorthak continues to follow Gort and taste the air. A breeze, blowing from the southwest, flows softly through the trees and buildings. He can smell nothing but prairie and dust.
Gort cautiously enters the remains of the farmhouse. The portion that remains standing is of solid craftsmanship. There is a small hallway and several rooms that were once bedroom or possibly storage. There is nothing left now but broken bits of furniture and useless debris.
Esilia follows Gorthak closely, peering over his shoulder from time to time. She seems very tense.

Re: Eddistone Point
Jyrbian roots around in the barn and discovers a broken pair of sheep shears and a 3' square roll of tattered wool cloth. He continues to root around, determined to find something, going so far as to climb around in the rafters, and eventually finds a small wooden box containing 9 gp and 33 cp.

Action: Latches onto Gorthak's back!
Esilia jumps into the air with scream, as Gort takes off in a mad dash toward the center of town, and latches onto Gorthak's back, "Aaaah, what is it? Don't let it get me!"
Still latched onto Gorthak's back she says, "I've heard of this place but I've never been here. Delea tells me all kinds of things, but I can onl remember part of what she says. Most of these towns had only a few peasants, struggling to get by. I stay in Dragons Belch for the mostly. There are too many things that want to eat me out here!"

Gort dashes into the center of town, his rudimentary spear jabbing at the air while he shouts, "Grrrrr... RRRRAAWWWW!" He runs into the intersection, near building 8, glancing in every direction simultaneously, frantically thrusting his spear at anything that might happen to lunge out of thin air. Then he notices a figure down the east road, near building 10. It appears to be a small human in simple clothing. It stares at Gort for only a moment then sprints off to the south toward the high stone tower (building 31) shouting something as it goes. Gort can't make out what the humanoid is saying.
