Vorkath the paladin will pray, then detect evil before he goes to sleep. He'll wake for his watch.

You once again settle in, hoping to finally get some rest. Gertruda returns to her room. Silent Tom goes with her, no doubt to "guard" her. Bob accompanies them as chaperone. Barnabus remains in the study, pacing around and waving his torch. He walks over to the huge fireplace and tosses another log on the fire, which has settled down some since you first entered this room many hours ago. Vorkath tries to sense evil in the area before bedding down, but senses none at that time.
Some of you can't help but wonder: with all the ruckus caused by the villagers, what might have had its attention turned to this place?
Alas, that question is answered much too soon. You haven't even had a chance to close your eyes yet when the Sunsword flares up yet again. Moments later, a ghostly female figure floats into the room through the north wall.
Barnabus quivers in his shoes. The torch in his quaking arm casts dancing shadows about the room. He cries out in terror: "It's the banshee!"

Tumbler jumps up and looks at the apparition. Oh fuck off he yells as he grabs his crotch at the spectre. I have had enough of this shit is his battle cry as he attacks the banshee

Re: 5. A Surprise Party?
Two clarifications:
- The save is at +2. We'll assume everyone is within Vorkath's Protection from Evil aura.
- If your character fails the saving throw vs. spell, he's overcome by fear and runs away or just cowers in a corner if he can't get past the spiked and barricaded doors.

Re: 5. A Surprise Party?
Fendt also cranky but we'll call it grumpy does the following to the banshee
Save: [1d20] = 17
Then takes out his continual light Bo Stick. To see if it makes the banshee flee at all.

Vorkath, paladin
"Back hell bitch!" roars the Sword of the True God. He hews the hallacious hell-whore with Excommunicator, looking to end her scream by beheading her.

Iluq is too shocked by the sudden appearance of the Banshee to move anywhere...

39343 Agrippo save vs spells [1d20] = 15
Agrippo reacts to the appearance of the banshee by launching an attack with the Sunsword
to hit: 5

Re: 5. A Surprise Party?
I guess I should attack with my over sized glow stick.
Fendt when done gesturing to the banshee will take a swing with the extra large glow stick.
Bo Stick Hit[1d20] = 1 Dmg[1d6] = 3 Lrg Dmg[1d3] = 3

Re: 5. A Surprise Party?
Im going to keep doing this until someone tells me to stop.
Tibbius
Seeing the fighters having their troubles with this new monster, Tib pulls out his wand and, in a move of pure desperation, fires at this frightening creature.

Tumbler shouts his battle cry as he attacks the banshee: "Oh, fuck off!" The banshee flies up and away from his hammer blow.
Fendt makes a rude gesture to the banshee. Then he takes his staff, the one with a bright magical light at the end, and swings it at the banshee. He swings so hard the momentum takes him off his feet. He lands on his butt. He also misses the banshee.
Iluq stands frozen in terror. Barnabus, also gripped with fear, drops his torch on the hearth and runs to the south door, pulling helplessly at the spiked door.
Agrippo flails wildly with the Sunsword. Robert attacks with his scimitar, a mighty swing that would slice open most foes. The banshee merely fades out when the sword passes harmlessly through.
"Back hell bitch!" roars the Sword of the True God. He hews at the spectral thing. Excommunicator hits where the floating figure's leg seems to be. The banshee flinches in pain, but the hit is clearly only a scratch.
Tibbius backs up and draws the Wand of Chaos Wonder. He flourishes it in the direction of the banshee and says the command word "aliquis." A gigantic boot appears in the air over the banshee's head. It falls to the floor with a thump.
The banshee floats to the middle of the room and begins to keen. The soft moan grows into a wailing cry that speaks of anguish, despair, loss, and hatred. Hatred of the living.
Hatred of you.

Fendt on his arse uses his bo stick to assist in getting him back up on his feet.

Re: 5. A Surprise Party?
The banshee's second scream pierces Vorkath's soul. The paladin sees the light of the True God. It is warm and welcoming. He reaches out to embrace him.

Save vs. Death (11) [1d20] = 13
Tibbius grits his teeth and bears this wailing souls ear piercing screech.
He shakes his head when he sees the boot hit the ground. He has no idea what to do against such a creature and hopes it doesn't wail again.
Vorkath! .....NOOOOOOOOO!!!

At seeing the ghost Robert says, "To arms!"
Saving Throw/Ability Checks[1d20] = 20 +2
)
With shield and Scimitar ready he attacks the ghostly visage.
Output: Scimitar +1 to hit[1d20 +1] = 2+1 = 3 Damage[1d8+1] = 1+1 = 2

Iluq's mind may be cowered but his faith keeps his soul alive and undaunted by the spectre.
Iluq Save vs. Death: [1d20+2] = 20+2 = 22
He cowers in place as he watches Vorkath drop to the ground, helpless to save his friend...
