"Alas," replies Llewellyn to Adel, "Sammy did not consult me before we set out on this expedition. Now that you mention it, however, I don't know why I didn't raise that issue before. We should all have estate plans in place before engaging on dangerous assignments, don't you agree? Most wills are quite straightforward, and could be prepared for a small fee. Of course, adventuring adds wrinkles, such as questions of property rights to unallocated treasure shares of the deceased, but these things should not affect the complexity of most adventurers' wills overly much. Do remind me to offer my services in this area to the party when we have some time."

"I have no family to speak of since the accident" says Debbie Downer Adel, just before Biblo bumps into him. Adel follows Biblo's lead, avoiding the vegetated area. As he passes by the mass he illuminates it as much as possible, spear in the other hand.

Fanxyl will fall in line with Qwydion. I still need to find gear if I to be of any use on this mission. He states to Qwydion.

"Don't worry my friend, we will assist you in reclaiming your stolen gear. And it's Gwydion, with 'G'."
Thinks for a moment.
"Should I light my lantern to reveal more of the mysterious green moss?"

Biblo's pebbles bounce off of the green mass without sound until they hit the cave floor. Adel illuminates the green situation. It looks, smells and acts like really plush moss. The water dripping down atop it seems to be the reason it is so green and full of life. It looks harmless enough, only glistening exactly where the water is falling on it.

Another soft shuffling sound is heard by all in the room. It comes from the black corridor to the west. Adel entering with a torch seems to be what set the noise off for a second time. Sammy heard the same noise when he rushed in with his torch just before that. The sound is gone quickly and then all falls back into silence, aside from the occasional drip of water onto the moss.

Llewellyn DeNonce, Attorney-Assassin

Llewellyn's ears pick up at the mention of an accident. "What sort of accident was this?" he asks. "Was it on your property or someone else's? Was it a workplace injury? How long ago was it?"

"By the way," he tosses off as an afterthought, "does anyone think that moss might hide a secret room or passage?"

Trendt "By my accounts it could but I suspect it is more than it appears."

Gwennethel, Elf Druid

Gwennethel tells the party Maybe a long stick poked into the moss would tell us more, or possibly even throwing a dead Kobold up against it to see if there are any deleterious effects to flesh. If there is no harm we could check for secret doors. However, I'm really worried about the "shuffling" and "scurrying". Maybe (she visibly winces) it's spiders? She begins a silent prayer to Corellon.

I will go back and grab dead kobold. MAybe we should toss a torch in that direction or if a Magic User has a light spell to cast over in that area where the noise is coming from.

Sammy the Barbarian


Sammy moves forward giving the curved wall a wide berth. "No sense in being sneaky, they know we are here. And my risks are my own, enough from the peanut gallery."

He holds the torch in front of him in his left hand, sword in the right and slides down the hallway.

Trendt does his best to keep pace with Sammy. Trendt has his weapon out and ready to strike.

The barbarian begins moving ahead because... well, because he's a barbarian and Trendt follows, fearing the barbarian's going to get himself killed. As they move around the moss and begin stepping into the hall, Sammy's torchlight shows him two kobolds falling to their knees with their hands up. They begin screaming in terror and are begging for mercy. They have dropped their weapons and slid them across the hall in Sammy's direction. Trendt and Biblo understand their language. ""Please, no! We'll tell all! We'll do anything you wish, just spare our lives! PLEASE NO!!" They are sitting at the other end of the hall, which opens up into another dark room, apparently the last guard room.

He is still watching the curved wall - just in case! But ready for attack from the West as well - in case the kobolds are leading us into a trap!

Llewellyn DeNonce, Attorney-Assassin, stays back near the entrance to the room with the curved mossy wall. That wall seems like a perfect spot for backup kobold troops to charge through, if there's a space behind it.

Flanxyl comes back with the dead kobold. Has the plan changed?Dropping the kobold on the floor.

To Fanxyl, Gwennethel says, No real changes in plan but now I'm thinking that since we have 2 prisoners, it would be an even better idea to make them stand up against the moss wall....you know, body heat and all might make a difference. Of course, if the wall seems harmless, we still have to figure out what to do with these sad wretches."

Merthyr

"Please, no! We'll tell all! We'll do anything you wish, just spare our lives! PLEASE NO!!"

Merthyr hears a lyric in there somewhere: "Please no....PLEASE NO! Hmmm...Please we! No, not quite right... Please me! Yeah that's it! PLEASE PLEASE ME! Thats's...quite catchy!" and jots it down in his song book, it might fit into some frisky ballad one day

Trendt in kobold to the kobolds "I accept the surrender, kick the weapons to me.Then come here we aint going to you." back in common "If yer makin a move Sammy I won't stop ya. I can't guarantee our lawyer will let em live long as it is." Trendt then kicks their weapons back to the others well out of reach for the kobolds.

The pitiful looking kobolds, without weapons now, look at each other with sadness, then begin to shamble toward Sammy and Trendt. They give the barbarian a fearful glance, not wanting to hold his gaze too long, but Trendt doesn't look too friendly either and they avoid eye contact. One pathetic kobold speaks while the other keeps silent. "Please be merciful to us. We only follow orders here. We don't want no trouble. Spare us and we will do anything. We swears it!"

"Ooh! Ask the little bastard who his 'Master' is. This should be good."
Still watching the green crud as well as down Western way.

"It also might be a good idea to have them in front of our party when entering a new section. Sammy is going to get killed sooner or later, if he keeps charging into rooms like a bull in a pottery shop."
