Looking for Basic D&D (BX/BECMI/etc) [CLOSED]

#1 Post by barna10 »

I have been hungering for a Basic game for quite awhile. Anyone running one and need a player? I'm fine with playing any of the human classes or a Dwarf.

Thanks

Good luck Matt! Good to see you back!
--Ron--
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Me and Barna are waiting at the port looking for passage FronkyDondo, what ships look to be heading to their doom?

We can do this this with two and add more along the voyage, cast off!

Aye yie yie!!! Let me cogitate on that. Three issues: already playing in like 4 games. Work is ramping up this time of year. and it's been a loooooooong time since I've done Basic.

Sure would be nice if someone else could volunteer :)

I guess I'll throw my hat into the ring.....I've always been a big fan of BECMI and haven't had much luck in getting to play or run it. I can run X1 if people want; but be warned: due to my RL situation it would be a slower paced game and also; I am hardly an expert on (Mystara I think it's called?) the default world setting for BECMI D&D.

Oh yeah....also; while I own both the BX books and the BECMI books; I'm a much bigger fan of the latter.

Is that cool with people?

ON THE OTHER HAND; if somebody else really has a hankerin' to DM; I'm happy to be a player! :)

Yay! Max is definitely DM. You all read it. He volunteered. Now he HAS to do it.

I don't want to step on Max's toes here, but I think I could be talked into running X1. I've wanted to brush up on my BECMI skills lately. Work is slow right now so I've got some extra time. And if things go well, I'll be out of a job soon, which means more DM time! HA!

Oh you can go ahead and STOMP on my toes Tonixx! :)

Happy/sad to hear about your employment situation.....(not sure if your note was a 'thank god it's coming to an end' or 'sigh, this is inevitable....or both); but I'm definitely happy to just be a player in the game!

Ok, Max. I'll start reading the adventure this weekend, create a forum and post some character creation rules.

On the other note, the situation is that I hate my job, my wife is making good money these days, so it's a 'thank goodness it's ending' kind of situation. I'll be going back to school to get a master's degree (I don't quite know why, but what the heck, right?)
