5. A Surprise Party?

Back up to the study you go, hoping that you can get a good night's sleep. The room has four doors, is kept immaculately clean, and the fire seems well-tended. Surely you won't be disturbed here. Right?
A couch still blocks the north door to the hall of statutes and the formerly-living tower. The other doors are shut but not blocked. The two doors in the north wall open into the study; the other two open out.
What's your watch schedule for the night?

"Is the young lady still in the other room searching for a party dress? I don't think the undead will bother her, they would have done so already. Should we lock her in though? Don't want her in the way should the ghoulies come calling.?"Agrippo will rest on the couch and take the midnight watch.

Re: 5. A Surprise Party?
Fendt "Perhaps we should leave her door unlocked it would be an escape route potentially if we need it. It might be wise to have her out of the way but I imagine she'd likely run if any ghoulies as you put it should come through. I think it is wise to block most of the doors but it would also make such sense to leave a couple exits should we need retreat. My offer to take up a watch still stands should you accept the offer."

"Aye," agrees Vorkath. "But let us check the behind the west door of the dining room, for that opens too into Gertruda's room."

Fendt "Yes let us check that one as well as the south door in the dining room. It would be good to know just incase we need to use that as an exit as well."

Illuq, "We cannot just kill her! She was not evil, simply misguided! When this horrible business is done with and the land can finally rest I am sure she will be a force of good intentions."
Life is a roller coaster, if you don't stop to enjoy it then you may as well not even ride.
Re: 5. A Surprise Party?
Robert says,"We should check out all the escape route and doors to make sure nothing evil is in the adjacent rooms. I can take first watch. Then I can ask for natures spells."

You discuss your plans for securing the study. The hot topic: what to do about Ireena? Leave her door unlocked as an escape route? Pound a stake into her heart? The very idea appalls the good cleric Iluq.
Fendt asks if the group trusts him enough to take a watch. Robert offers to take first watch so he can try to get a full night's rest to recover spells. Agrippo says he'll take the midnight watch: a mighty generous offer at nearly 1:00 AM.
You do agree to make sure nothing dangerous lurks behind the western door of the dining room. Vorkath opens the door and enters the room beyond. It is a bath chamber. In the center of the chamber is a huge cast iron tub. Curtains hang to either side of the curved south wall.

Re: 5. A Surprise Party?
Fendt smiles at Tumbler "Why thank you Tumbler. You honor me with your trust. Now as for a sleeping room I think this room is far easier to defend than our original choice. Let us rest here while there is still night to sleep in." mace still in hand Fendt prepares for a watch shift with Tumbler.

Re: 5. A Surprise Party?
Vorkath motions for others to join in investigating the bathing chamber. The paladin looks to see if Agrippo's sword is glowing. If not, he'll use his sword to part the curtains on the right.
Re: 5. A Surprise Party?
Robert moves with the group and rest as much as possible then stands watch unless it would interfere with regaining spell. The others will have to give him the time to rest and stNd guard for him.
Roberts says,"I'll stand watch but only at a time where it won't interfere with my needed rest to regain spells."

Tibbius
The green elf won't rest while others in the party are still investigating the room for safety. He approaches Vorkath and says Im right behind you big V and I got my wand ready, just in case.

Vorkath gazes at Agrippo's sword. The Sunsword has the soft glow that says no undead are nearby. Tibbius and Fendt stand behind the paladin. Tibbius has his wand in his hand.
Vorkath use his sword to part the east curtains, revealing a large walk-in closet filled with formal wear. Two windows in the south wall are blacked out with paint. The closet wraps all the way around the tub's alcove.

Re: 5. A Surprise Party?
Fendt "Well I stand corrected. A room with the least doors would appear best to rest but this place is ridiculous. Shall we scope out the alcove that we have now 3 doors entering into?"

Re: 5. A Surprise Party?
Illuq cautiously walks into the bathing area, watching the window and closets. If nothing comes out after him he will open one of the doors to the walk in closets, standing to the side as he opens the door so that anything being hurled or shot out flies past him.

Re: 5. A Surprise Party?
Robert says,"I will need 6 hrs of rest and a couple hours of study time so I will not be able to take a watch. Let's hope we are not disturbed."

Fendt changes his mind about where to rest tonight; he wants to come out of the closet.
Iluq pokes around the bath area then looks into the long, U-shaped walk-in closet. He finds nothing but dusty tuxedos, opera capes lined in scarlet silk, and ruffly white vests.
Robert points out that he will need 6 hours of rest and a couple of hours of study time to replenish his spells.
