GreyWolf,

Thank you for making aware of this (CAPS). I hadn't even considered how annoying this might be until you mentioned it. I printed out a copy and realized how irritating it was to read. I am going through now and fixing that problem.

Thanks

confusion how can i even afford armor with only 50 copper? Also how would i know what edition to add modifiers from...? I don't see them in your core rules... Also if i am supposed to use a weapon larger than i am i am large so yeah doesn't get any larger than large weapons. I'm lost as to what stats to use on weapons and armor as i used 2e and you are correcting my weapon damage to i have no idea what version. :?
You can find everything you need for the Zero-Level Character creation in the "Core Rules 3.1.7" pdf under the Core Rules thread. (I have added part of these rules below. You start with 25 cp (Your gear/armor/weapons do not come out of this amount).
Size: take a look at the top of the Weapons list for your character's size and use the damage for one weapon size larger.
Hopefully the Core Rules pdf should clear everything up. If not give me a shout.
I apologize if my initial LFP post wasn't clear about the campaign using "Custom Rules." Let me know if that is unacceptable for you. I will completely understand.

Zero-Level Requirements
Prime Attributes
The Prime attributes, as listed in the Class Table above represent, in order of appearance, the primary skills inherent to that Class. Players are in no way required to follow or assign attribute scores according to this list. They merely signify the inherent strengths for a given Class. When assigning attribute scores try to think about the intended personality of your character and where those skills will be most effective. Those attributes may not necessarily be your Class’ prime attributes.

Hit Points
Zero-Level characters start out with ten (10) hit points.

Weapon Allowance
Choose one weapon from the list below. See the Weapons section for additional information on each weapon type. The character’s Race (physical size) will determine the stats for each weapon, and Class will determine which weapons can be wielded effectively.

Forest Axe
Hand/Throwing Axe
Quarterstaff
Short Bow
Shortspear
Sling
Small Club
Smithy Hammer
Whip

Armor Allowance
Choose one of the following armor types and/or shield types below. Be sure to follow the Class armor restrictions. See the Armor section for additional information.

Armor
Brigandine
Light Leather
Studded Leather
Padded/Quilted

Shields
Buckler Shield
Light Wood Shield
Heavy Wood Shield
Starting Money
A meager 25 cp.

Starting Items
Every character will begin their adventuring career with the following items:

Backpack, Small
Bedroll
Belt Pouch, Small
Blanket, Light
Chalk, 1 piece
Flint & Steel
Small Sack
Torch
Waterskin

You may also choose two (2) of the following items. This may be two of the same item or two separate items—Player’s choice.

Candle
Chalk, 1 piece
Hammer
Hemp Rope [25’]
Knife, Simple
Net
Piton
Torch

when I looked in it it did not give full information on weapon types or anything that is why I used the AD&D 2e PHB at least on the weapon. Even there again there is no weapon size larger than large..... if the lucern hammer is not an option then I am not using a weapon. The rest listed in the 0 level part has nothing of interest. As for the armor i cannot select one since I have no information other than what is in the 2e book for studded leather and padded.

your height has you listed as a medium so your hammer is still fair game yo.

Dm Antman,

I read up on the Cleric Rules and love them. Looks like I will be getting a nice selection of spells at L1. Thanks for writing these up.

Hey GreyWolf

Sorry, I was out for a bit. I went ahead and gave u the hammer because of your class and because u specifically asked for it. The weapons table lists three columns for damage. These represent the size of creature they are craftert for. Your character falls under medium size. Because knights wield weapons one size larger than themselves you wield a large Lucern Hammer which does 2d6 in damage.

I calculated your AC based on the armor from your inventory and DEX adjustment.

Weapon and armor tables can be found near the end of the Core Rules pdf.

Thanks
Marc

Glad you like them. You can just call me Antman or Marc. It feels funny when people address me as "DM". Like I'm a supervisor or something. Heehee

Anyway we should be getting this party started sometime tonight.

Alrighty Then...Let's get this party started shall we? A few items I would like to address first:

Adventure Thread Posts
1) Please begin each post you make, as your character, with the following information:

[Character Name – Class & Lvl] (HP: Current/Total Avail) (AC: Total)

2) Follow this with any actions you may wish to perform such as hold, charge, grapple, defensive stance, retreat, etc. Just a few basic words about your intent that round.

3) Next should come the actions your character will take, along with any dialog. Try not to be too specific here, such as Harold chops the Giant Slug's antenna off. If you want to attempt this type of action that is fine (may require a difficulty check), just have your post reflect Harold is trying to do so, not that he does it. The DM will do the doing.

4) Follow this with any Dice Roller links. I would like your Dice Rolls formatted as follows:

Initiative, Attack (includes ability modifiers), Damage (includes ability modifiers): Initiative [1d10], Greataxe [1d20+3], Damage [1d8+3]

Example Post:

[Harold – Fighter 0] (HP: 5/6) (AC: 12)

Attack

Harold looks at Taran and says, “I don’t know about you, but I hate slugs.” With a large smile he hefts his greataxe with both hands and charges at the Giant Slug with a great yell, “Aaaaaaaaah!

Initiative [1d10] = 1, Attack [1d20+3] = 16+3 = 19, Damage [1d8+3] = 3+3 = 6

OOC: Some players may find this annoying, but in the end it is really quite simple and allows everyone, including the DM who has to compile all the action into one post, to comprehend basic actions quickly.

with what you gave me for modifier to STR your score chart does not have a modifier for. so I assume +3 for 21 STR? never mind I figured out what i messed up on you were giving me my modifiers to add to the sheet for my scores not adjusting my scores

I think my sheet is accurate now with armor plus race AC bonus and Dex bonus. I also made 2 macros one for gore and one for the lucern hammer I'll post sample rolls here tell me if i goofed em up.
Gore [1d20+5] = 2+5 = 7 Dmg [1d8+3] = 1+3 = 4 race bonus + str modifier.

Lucern Hammer[1d20+3] = 5+3 = 8 Dmg [2d6+3] = 9+3 = 12 only str modifier.

You need to add the initiative roll [1d10] to the front of those, other than that they will suffice.

Example: Initiative [1d10] = 1, Lucern Hammer [1d20+3] = 16+3 = 19, Damage [1d8+3] = 3+3 = 6

Also your AC should be 12: AC = 9 + 1 DEX Modifier + 2 Armor Bonus = 12
I'm using an increasing AC (the higher the AC the better)

that's fine if you want to do it that way, just make sure you roll Initiative every time you roll an attack.
