Hi all

#1 Post by scottm »

Hi all, new to the site - trying to figure out exactly how to jump in and exactly how it all works (time commitment, frequency of posting, etc)...but am sure that will come in time. I am a physics/chemistry teacher who started with Moldvay D&D in 1981 and quickly progressed to AD&D (1st) where I stayed through 1991. Attended GenCon in 83-90 when it was in Lake Geneva and Milwaukee. Played many other rpgs, but have always been partial to D&D. Tragically got away from gaming when I married, but...got back into it a couple of years ago and have attended several small, local cons - which I now find that I prefer. Tried a few games on Roll20 (as player and DM) but it just didn't click...looking forward to trying something here and see how it all works. My best...

Welcome, Scott! Hopefully you'll find Unseen Servant a better fit! Hopefully you can get into a game of your choosing soon. If you are interested in running a game, I'd suggest reading the stickied thread at the top of the LFP/LFG thread. Honestly, a good resource if you want to find out more about the GMs on the site.

If you have any questions, do ask!

Cheers,

Al

Welcome Scott!

I'm sure some of the head honchos will be by shortly to say hello and help you out with some pertinent links and such. There are lots of cool games and great players here so please do enjoy yourself whilst you learn the ropes. Are those "local" cons you mentioned in Wisconsin by any chance?

Welcome! You'll find this a pretty welcoming and supportive community of PbPers. Heck it's all this forum does is play and support PbP games.

Ask questions if you have any and I hope you get into a game soon!!

Be well,
--Ron--
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.
