Re: I. Entry
Luken stumbles about a bit: There is no blame here, let's be off. I'll try to stay up.

"Yes, the faster we get moving, the faster we get out of this cursed place," Abelard agrees quickly.

Re: I. Entry
Through spells of nausea, Luken convinces the group that he's able to move, but likely not much else. "Who wants to lead now?" he asks, knowing his time running point for the group has to, at least temporarily, come to an end.
"Looks like we have another decision to make," Kernodle muses while thinking back to their other option -- a 'Y' intersection. "I vote for whichever passage the elf doesn't," he finishes under his breath.

"Stick to the right-hand wall," Abelard blurts out. "It's an old labyrinth trick. Always keep to either the left or the right wall and you'll not get lost and you should eventually make your way out. So turn right here, then keep to the right passage at the next intersection."

"Labyrinth tricks? I'll trust your judgement. My people avoid these places instead of devising rules to navigate them. May fate will that I feel fresh air, sunshine and a nice cool breeze on my face before long" whines Mulvey.

Re: I. Entry
A few seconds after speaking, Mulvey looks around and sees that nobody's prepared to take the lead. "Abe, I'm making the assumption that you're a holy man, so it makes sense for you to stay in the middle with Luken where you can look after him. Kernodle, I suppose you'll want to take the rear again. That way you can pick the gold off of our dead bodies once we've taken care of any danger." He taps the dwarf's armor "and I suppose the purpose of this is to make you look nice and sparkly while you do so. It sure isn't going to serve much other purpose back there."AleBelly wrote:"Labyrinth tricks? I'll trust your judgement. My people avoid these places instead of devising rules to navigate them. "Looks like we have another decision to make," Kernodle muses while thinking back to their other option -- a 'Y' intersection. "Stick to the right-hand wall," Abe blurts out, explaining a strategy he learned to better one's chances of surviving a labyrinth; a plan warmly met by the others.
Mulvey looks around and sees that nobody's prepared to take the lead. "Abe, I'm making the assumption that you're a holy man, so it makes sense for you to stay in the middle with Luken where you can look after him." Shifting his gaze to the dwarf. "Kernodle, I suppose you'll want to take the rear again." he quips, continuing the ongoing racial banter between the two.
Mulvey leads, followed by Abe, Luken and Kernodle.

Re: I. Entry
Mulvey begins to lead the group along the north branch in the unfamiliar underground environment. After only a few steps, the elf is forced to dive forward as a load-bearing rock is disrupted causing the right wall to begin to crumble and a near collapse of the passage ceiling as well. While the event turned out to be relatively minor, it does leave Mulvey on one side of a waist-high pile of loose rubble and the rest of the group on the other.
Once the dust settles, it is evident that this rubble pile is passable, but it would require crawling.-- Games --

Re: I. Entry
Abe eyes the rubble dubiously."It's possible this whole path may be unstable. Do you want to slip ahead and see what's around the corner before we all climb over? If it isn't anything good, then we can turn around and head south."

Re: I. Entry
Luken will lean against the side of the passage in an attempt to rest as much as possible. Bloody insect... he will mutter under his labored breath.

Re: I. Entry
"We share the same mind" agrees Mulvey. "Please place your lantern below the level of the rubble so it doesn't interfere with my vision as I scout ahead."
Mulvey will take out his bow and have an arrow ready. He'll wait about a minute before scouting ahead in case the noise of the rubble collapse aroused the curiosity of any nasties.

Re: I. Entry
Abelard lowers his lantern. He takes a moment to check on Luken and see how he is doing.
"Did it hurt you with its bite? Or is it the poison, you think?"

I think it's just the poison, play tricks with your noggin. I am hoping to be through it soon... thank ya for asking. Luken will say with a grin.

Re: I. Entry
Mulvey crawls back down the corridor to the group. "Well, not much down that way except three giant rats. Looks like it dead ends, but I'm not positive. I see two options. We can fill in some of the gap with rubble, draw them in and shoot some arrows at them. Or we can try to seal this entrance and take the last passage. I favor the latter corse of action."
Re: I. Entry
Abelard shrugs,"We could just leave them be and go on our way..."

Re: I. Entry
Squeaking sounds and scurrying footsteps are heard advancing from the north east west passage; the one just explored by Mulvey.

Re: I. Entry
Let's exhaust other means of getting out of here before we take on a known issue... Luken will say with a sigh. Do you think it's possible to seal this passage without killing ourselves in the process? While he says this he will sheath his sword and draw out his crossbow/reload.

Re: I. Entry
With no time for manners, Mulvey yells "Quick, get a flask of oil ready! I'm going to climb through this hole, then throw a flask, igniting the passageway...otherwise we're fighting three rats!"
Regardless of the actions of others, he'll draw his bow once he's on the other side of the rubble and fire at the rats - hopefully they're on the other side of a flaming pool of oil! If he won't have time to scale the rubble, he'll take his chances with his longsword.

Abelard drops his mace and shield and reaches into his pack for a flask of oil to pass to Mulvey.
