Gandrel targets the further large frog - wanting to limit any chance of hitting his friends

Additionally he will keep an eye on Cast and jump in to melee if he is attacked by a frog.

Prologue 0.2 (Adventuring)
579 CY, Goodmonth 10 (10:30pm)
40h/28l, 5mph

Gandrel's first bow shot of the round sails way over the head of the large frog and off into the night.

Quoro's in the meantime makes his way toward the skirmish that Karl is involved in. Picking his time to enter safely as to avoid a wild sword swipe by his companion, the dwarf takes a swing of his own which misses his enemy and actually glances off of Karl's shield.

Cole heads forward to the small frog directly in front of him and raises his blade in an instant fury, striking down on the small frogs front leg severing it. In a pool of blood the frog slumps to the ground lifeless.

The two small frogs directly in front of the party then engage Cole in melee but prior to their arrival the (furthest left) small frog flings his tongue and connects with the warriors left leg. Wrapping it tight around his leg it begins to tug violently. The two in front of Cole bite madly at him. They are soon joined by the large frog (leftmost large frog not engaged in melee with Quoros and Karl) who snaps at Cole's right thigh and causes a medium sized gash.

Seeing this, Asus sweeps his two handed blade overhead and lunges at the frog who has Cole entangled (furthest left) and barely misses skimming just above it's head.

Castien you are on the clock.

I will try to update the map at the start of every round.

Castien, hoping he doesn't regret this decision, attempts to carefully move up behind Karl and Quoros. He studies the action taking place in front of him and, keeping his two friends in front of him, at a time he calculates to be safe, he attempts to jab over the the head of Quoros, the shorter of the two, at the large frog they're engaged in battle with.

"Oh, regret will be had" he thinks to himself as his jab attempt misses badly.

Gandrel takes his second bow shot at the same frog as before (the large one who just bit Cole). His arrow makes it much closer this time grazing the aggressors skin (hit).

I believe that is everyone. Roll initiative again!

Doh:

Modified Initiative [1d10-2] = 10-2 = 8

OOC - Omega is there a way I can manoeuvre to get a clean shot in, or would any shot be deemed 'into melee' now?

Castien, figuring it's more important for the party to actually survive their current encounter than it is to maybe run into a more difficult encounter later, retreats a few steps from behind Karl and Quoros as he prepares to cast his Sleep spell.

Initiative (Casting Spell): [1d10] = 1 (plus casting time: 1) =2

Edit: Add casting time adjustment.

The only clean shot you would have would be on the same one you shot at previously. Even though he is engaged with Cole, you can sidestep to the right a tad and I'll still give you both shots clean this round. Now if you roll a 1 on the other hand...LOL

Castien feels a sense of calm come over himself; for the first time in a non-simulated situation, he is finally doing what he has been trained to do. He focuses sharply on a spot in the path, directly in the middle of the triad of smaller frogs. The necessary gestures and words feel completely natural, as if he's practiced them a thousand times before, when he feels a surge of energy being released from his body.

Sleep Effect (2-8 hit dice) [2d4] = 6

Prologue 0.2 (Adventuring)
579 CY, Goodmonth 10 (10:30pm)
40h/28l, 5mph

All three small frogs and the wounded large frog attacking Cole immediately enter a comotose slumber as the sleep spell takes effect. The tongue attached to the warriors leg subsequently goes limp and falls to the ground no longer restricting movement.

Karl continues his assault and connects this time staggering the frog he is engaged with (hit, he is still up).

Quoros, Asus, you are up...

If Gandrel is left with no suitable target he will move to cover the direction the frogs came from with his bow - but staying out of range of the remaining frog

Quoros brings his mace down in an overhead arc on top of the giant frog's head.

To Hit, Melee or Missile [1d20] = 19
Damage, Footman's Mace, S/M [1d6+1] = 5+1 = 6

He flashes a smile as he feels the mace make a solid connection.

Seeing only one opponent still moving, Ausus rushes forward, attempting to slay the creature before it can cause any harm.

Giant frog: [1d20+1] = 12+1 = 13 to-hit, [1d10+2] = 2+2 = 4 damage

Giant frog: [1d20+1] = 4+1 = 5 to-hit, [1d10+2] = 5+2 = 7 damage

Prologue 0.2 (Adventuring)
579 CY, Goodmonth 10 (10:32pm)
40h/28l, 5mph

Everyone in the party hears a loud thud followed by a sudden crack as Quoros' mace lands solidly on his aggressors skull, smashing it in and causing the frog to go limp. Karl breathes a sigh of relief as Asus comes over to prod it with his sword making sure it breathes no more.

Encounter rounds officially end at this point. Three small frogs and the remaining big frog appear to still be asleep. One round has passed since the spell has taken effect. Time will continue at this point so feel free to post your next actions or flavor posts.

Quoros reaches for his dagger, a habit of old, and quickly realizes he no longer carries such edged weapons.

"Damn," he grumbles, then turns to the others and hisses, "Quick! Dispatch the others while they sleep."

Then he rushes over to Cole to administer to his wounds.

"That bite on the leg looks bad, lad. Let me look at it."

Quoros will first try and use his Healing proficiency (restores 1d3 HP) to bind Cole's wounds. If it appears he could use more, Quoros will cast Cure Light Wounds (1d8), as well.

OOC: Don't know if you want to make healing rolls, Omega, or if you want me to... I'm good either way.

Prologue 0.2 (Adventuring)
579 CY, Goodmonth 10 (10:32pm)
40h/28l, 5mph

Cole sets his sword and shield aside and begins to rip his pant leg off at his upper thigh.

"Bah, it doesn't look bad at all,"
he claims and sits down as Quoros moves over to tend to the wound by bandaging it up. (Quoros go ahead and roll a d6 and half it for your healing proficiency)

"The priest is right,"
he continues. "Dispatch the others quickly before they wake."

You can roll your own CLW and heal proficiency in the future.

"well done fellows. Quoros that was a mighty blow! If only old Nalan were here - a pretty ditty could he have strummed on his lute about it"

Gandrel keeps watch for any further enemies.
