A Village With No Name AD&D [Closed]
Along the road in a distant location is a village with no name but with citizens under siege by a gang of evil rogues, adventurers and rubes. Who will confront these men and their leaders? And what twist of fate awaits the PCs?
The Village with No Name is an AD&D 1st Edition Adventure for a party of 1st-to-3rd level adventurers. It is the first installment in a multi-part series of adventures involving the main NPC in this module. This adventure can be played separately or as part of the larger series.
Located along a remote road, miles from any settlement of consequence, is The Village with No Name. This village is not much more than a small Collection of buildings; an inn, a tavern, a stable, a general store, a few houses and, for the more pious of travelers, a church-where weary travelers’ and Distant settlers can rest and re-supply. The villagers tend towards neutral, and although the town once had an Elder (in reality, more of an elderly informal spiritual advisor.) There is no organized or official government. In fact, the villagers have never bothered to name the village, instead referring to it simply as The Village or even The Village with No Name.
Recently, a gang of men rode in from the wilderness and took to the town’s taverns. They drank and brawled before riding through the village, shaking down the townspeople and visitors for valuables. Unfortunately, they never left and the villagers are under siege. In the time since the gang’s arrival, some villagers have fled, a few have died and most live in perpetual fear while the gang roams the village.
The only thing I am not sure is if I will keep this AD&D 1st Edition or try and run it as a AD&D 2nd Edition game. This was a module/adventure I found on Dragonsfoot listed as DF30. http://www.dragonsfoot.org/php4/archive ... atchfile=0

I've no restrictions on who can and cannot play so it'd be great to have you play ybn1197
I'm just looking to see who is interested to start with.

Alright I'll add that as 2 to the list of interested folks. The only strange thing is I'm not noticing a suggested PC number there is a level suggestion...

Put me in there as well!
All my rogue characters are in Tooley's games and currently on suspended Hiatus so I need another game for my Rogues! I can't have all warriors or crazy magic users! the rogues would feel left out!
and when they feel left out... they steal my socks...

Re: Checking Interest: A Village With No Name
Any particular house rules (for either edition) we should know about?
And if its second edition, any particular books being thrown out?

Re: Checking Interest: A Village With No Name
Alright that makes 4 I think I will shoot for a group of 4-6 players so if there are any more interested parties speak up.NJWilliam wrote:Interested here as well.

If 2e I do allow the complete guides too....blah classes and races. I even allow players option books. I do not however allow psionics in either edition. For races I will allow Half-Orcs but not Half-Giants, or Half-Ogre. Drow elves are fine by me as well. No Tieflings either please. The other rules I am going with are I roll initiative for the group and the bad guys. Max HP for all first level characters. Going to start this party out at level 2. Once I have at least one more player interested I'll ask to have the game forum added. I also would like to see at least one post per normal weekday obviously if you are in a different timezone that is a day ahead I'll be off a day. I try to set the post bar low incase some folks cannot post as often as say MonkeyWrench or myself if you are familiar with my games I play in here.PiebaldWookie wrote:Any particular house rules (for either edition) we should know about?

So in a nutshell...
Allowed Races: Gnomes (Subraces allowed), Dwarves (Subraces allowed), Halflings (Subraces allowed), Elves & Drow (Subraces allowed), Humans (subraces allowed), Half-Orc (Subraces allowed), Half-Elf (Subraces allowed).
Allowed Classes: Fighter, Paladin, Ranger, Mage, Illusionist, Cleric, Druid, Thief, Assassin, Specialist Mages, Monk.
Not Allowed Races: Half-Giant, Half-Ogre, Half-Dragon, Tiefling.
Not Allowed Classes: Psionics.
There very well might be a significantly longer list of classes and races I'm not remembering off the top of my head. Just run it by me in a PM and I will say yes or no.
I also have no issues with spells from Unearthed Arcana provided I go 1st Edition. I would prefer to leave out classes and races that are found in the GreyHawk, DragonLance books namely sticking to the more core type classes and races.

Re: Checking Interest: A Village With No Name
Cool!
I was thinking of going for a Half Orc Fighter/Thief - a battlefield scavenger, raised as a camp follower and brought into the fold as a mercenary. A little more wily than the average Half Orc, and a little less likely to resort to outright violence than a good beating in a darkened alleyway.

Re: Checking Interest: A Village With No Name
I am still on the fence about what edition to run this in it was created for 1e but I am more experienced in DMing 2e shouldn't be a terrible adjustment to adapt it to 2e... I hope.
Bah the only bad news I have is that I contacted the folks that published this module and even though it was originally meant to be the first in a line of modules there are no further modules available that go with this.

What are you trying to say?!??GreyWolfVT wrote:I try to set the post bar low incase some folks cannot post as often as say MonkeyWrench or myself if you are familiar with my games I play in here.
Means you can wing the details! Let your creativity flow! I might be transferring my Character Varrick to this one, he was in Tooley's Silverymoon Campaign and I loved role playing as him. Hopefully you all can understand him! He tends to have a very bad accent...

Alright well I've sent the PM to ToniXX and have a potential for 5 players not entirely knowing how this module will go I don't want to take more than 6 players. Look for a game forum soon enough. I setup the campaign in the unseen servant roller if you want the ID now I can give that to you.

Re: [Checking Interest] A Village With No Name [Waitlist]
So here is the player lineup!
1. ybn1197
2. PiebaldWookie
3. MonkeyWrench
4. NJWilliam
5. Todd Spengo
6. PyrowArrow
Who's gonna make what? Also I've decided to play it in 2e that should make creation easier now that you all know the version. Granted Monk is a 1e class it can still be used.

I'm leaning towards playing a half-elf ranger.

Due to the possibility of Silverymoon being re-instated I believe I shall use another character that I created for something else! Crow the Assassin!

I'm leaning towards a Fighter of some sort... Gonna go rummage around for interesting Kits!
