Stepping forward, Ingrid places her hand on the ranger's back, praying to her god to deliver his divine energy through her. O Trithereon, your humble servant beseeches you in your glory to provide succor to Brevos as he returns these unholy abominations to the hell in which they belong.

Beneath the swamp, the dead woman strangling Telkis (Z5) cries out another piteous, heartbreaking wail from her heinously violated mouth.



Telkis cannot bludgeon his way free!

Grothnak attacks the abject horror strangling the gnome fighter, striking a blow that would cleave a man in twain. But the disfigured corpse labors on with frightful determination, throttling the life from Telkis! (-2hp)

Pelias and Pip bring weapons to bear to help Brevos wrest the cold dead hands from around his throat. (Z1) To no avail. (-1hp, Brevos)

The unceasing waters wept by the walls and ceilings cause Pip to lose his grip! His staff slips from his grasp and flies into the northeast corner of the cavern.

Long Bo and Mouser loose sling stones at the farthest horrendous cadavers, but both missiles hurtle off course.

Ingrid desperately prays for the power to heal Brevos (+8hp) even as he remains tight in the clutches of an abhorrent, macabre terror. (Z1)

Mouser tries again to hit the rear zombie abominations - dialing in his aim:

Brevos uselessly flails at the unhittable corpse

Telkis is rattled. He tries to reverse Cranach to strike with the butt end and leverage the zombie away but his hands slip in the grime and he cannot connect.

Pip leans over the struggling Brevos, and slams the zombie strangling him hard with his fist of iron.

Pip Fist Attack (ThAC0 20) [1d20] = 15 Damage [1d6] = 6

Pelias decides to shut his mouth and focus on fighting. He hacks at the zombie strangling Brevos, the one strangling Telkis, or any other (in order of priority).

Grothnak keeps fighting the zombie trying to strangle Telkis.

Unwilling to use her last healing spell right yet but unable to really position herself to be able to attack one of the undead foes, the cleric will watch helplessly until an opportunity for her to assist presents itself.

Bo just shakes his head at Hoom's unkind statement, thinking it to sound just like something a cultist would say. He fires again at the back ranks of the oncoming monsters that were all once good people.

In the nightmarish underswamp, neither Brevos nor Telkis can fight their way loose from the adamant grips slowly choking them to death! Brevos is driven to his knees as he flails his sword in vain.

Hoom watches the rear as Long Bo and Mouser let fly more sling stones. The grey druid misses. But Mouser's projectile whistles into the exposed skull of a ghastly revenant (Z6) with force enough to kill. However, the stone goes unnoticed.

Pip of Hochoch drives his iron-like fist over Brevos' lolling head and into the jaw of the ranger's would-be murderer (Z1). The noxious cadaver suffers the blow and keeps strangling Brevos.

Grothnak swings his halberd at Telkis' assailant (Z5), hacking off both arms clean at the elbows! The gruesome amputee expires, slumping to the ground even as its two dead hands remain clenched tight on Telkis' throat! Gulping for air, Telkis bats them off with the back of his fist and they fall to the ground, twitching and clawing until they finally fall still.

Ingrid can't find an opening to the front line. But Pelias' enchanted sword disembowels the dagger-riddled corpse choking Brevos (Z1). Its decaying black entrails pour out of the newly carved maw, splattering to the floor before it joins them there. Brevos gasps, able to breathe again.

The tortured souls of the subterranean netherworld do not withdraw.



The icy hands of another mutilated horror (Z6) form a noose of grey flesh around Grothnak's throat! (-3hp)

Telkis defends himself with Cranach, slamming the ruinous corpse of Avril's kin (Z4) into the cavern's stone wall. Nearby, Pelias' shield fends off a horrific, mangled terror (Z7) trying to crush his windpipe!

Grothnak bares his teeth in a snarling grin, leaning in toward the zombie grabbing his throat. He tries to slice the zombie in two, but his halberd is too long to be effective in such close quarters.

"Your stones are having no effect. Stop at once!" yells Pelias to those behind him. He turns his attention, again, to the undead that are strangling his comrades.

Brevos coughing now that his troat is clear tried to cut down the zombie choking grothnak

Concerned that she is unable to help battle the forces of evil before them, the cleric has no choice but to wait and see if someone needs healing soon.

Hoping to return the favor, Telkis jams the business end of his morningstar into the guts of the dead thing that's got ahold of Grothnak:

Mouser, wanting to ignore Pelias and fire another stone to do something to fight is way out of here, lowers his sling seeing that the rear ranks are too close to fire upon. He struggles with doing nothing while the battle rages before him.
