Norbold Ernessaeia (Sylvanian Elf Cleric): Scale Mail AC 6 : Hit Points 6 / 6:

Norbold proceeds inside, saying a short prayer to himself. Upon seeing the ogre munching away, he enters just enough to be visible to the ogre.

"Excuse me, Mr. Ogre, Sir, I come to make an offer of trading goods with one that walks in the woods that Rillifane Rallathil watches over.

In return we ask for access deeper into the mound so as to explore it's mysteries, meanwhile you will have the pleasure of knowing you will soon have sacks of coins, simply by the trading of furs.

What say you?"

Norbold Ernessaeia (Sylvanian Elf Cleric): Scale Mail AC 6 : Hit Points 6 / 6:

Norbold says,

"Oh, very well, then, I guess you don't want to have women clamoring for you then when they see your pockets are loaded with coin, ok fine then. Talk to you later."
With that Norbold turns to head back to the others.

Korin continues to hum his little dwarven song rocking on his feet. Takes out a dagger and picks the grime from under his nails.

Norbold Ernessaeia (Sylvanian Elf Cleric): Scale Mail AC 6 : Hit Points 6 / 6:

Unless the Ogre says something that continues a conversation, Norbold would see Korin and say:

"Sigh, the ogre is too busy eating to bother with anything right now."

As Korin and Norbold exit, and Korin repeats his intention to bury the dead monk, night suddenly falls over the land. The whole river bank is engulfed in darkness - then, a flash! A golden swirling cloud appears over the river, shimmering, presently forming the contours of a large, godlike being with elven appearance, dressed in mystically flowing robes, armed with a silvery bow, hovering over the water. It slowly turns to face the group, spreading its huge yet delicate hands, voice booming yet strangely soft....

”Lonely was the poor soul who fell here, faith his only companion, when trapped and cornered by what unspeakable horror. But he is not forgotten - compassion has been shown today, in this far, desolate land. Hark, ye, all! Rare is the goodness that lies hidden in men and their stout cousins,” (here pointing to Korin) ”too often forgotten by elvenkind.”

”Indeed, this will now be our holy brother’s final resting place. Behold!”
the ethereal being raises its hands - the air seems to vibrate when powerful energy beams forth, in the direction of the mound behind you all. A deep rumble rises from within, and a slow tremor is felt under your feet, causing pebbles to jump and ripples to form in the river.
The mound shudders, seemingly collapsing inwards, causing dust to gush forth from every opening.

When the dust settles, everyone is unhurt - just covered in dust. The godlike being is nowhere to be seen - daylight has returned and all is calm. The mound hasn’t in fact totally collapsed - it’s not much lower than before, just a bit resettled. But - all the entrances have been sealed shut by the implosion of rock and mud - and it can never again be entered like before.

Minn’s Mound has become the tomb of the unknown monk.

You have now completed the adventure ’Minn’s Mound’. I have DM:ed it exactly as it was written when I was an AD&D beginner in my teens. Warts and all! ;D

Here is the original map from way back then (it was published in a fanzine once).

XP awards will be sent out soon (I didn’t bring the adventure XP log with me, to where I am at the moment). In the meantime:

Thank you all for participating!

Yes Nordbo thank you for running the game. Sorry it got drawn out a bit or any trouble I might have given during the run of the game.

Thanks for running the game Nordbo!

Do you have another adventure planned for us?!?!

End-of-game XP awards

Phoenix

Since the last XP handout, Phoenix has gained another 427 XP which brings him up to 723 XP.
His XP have been earned through exploration of uncharted territories, applying gnomic talents, dagger attacks on ogre, casting spell on spiders, being generally alert and deductive, for landing on his feet as new member of the group and not least providing hilarious antics with his pom poms.
Still behind the others, naturally, but catching up rapidly.

Korin

Korin has, as thief added 433 XP to his previous awards which brings him up to 1693, and a level up! Korin is now a level 2 thief. Roll new hp.
As fighter, Korin gained 328 XP since the last handout, leading to a total of 2575 XP.
Korin's combined XP adds were gained by exploration, skilfully applying underground dwarven skills, being highly perceptive, checking traps successfully, killing a giant rat, showing mercy on the killed monk and being consistently ultra-present and totally engaged in the game.
Special bonus: after the elven deity appeared to single out Korin at the end, Korin discovers he has been magically bestowed with the ability to speak & read the Elven language (whether he likes it or not! ).

Ox

Ox was not as active on the fighter side in this last chapter of the game: as fighter he gains only 67 XP which means he remains on level 2 (2289 XP current total). His awards this time were gained as magic-user, where he got 230 XP, mainly for hurting the ogre and some spiders with his Magic Missile, plus a few points for exploration and occasional successful perception rolls (these are rolled by the DM in various situations). He is now at XP 1292 as magic-user.

Norbold

Norbold became quite active in this the last chapter of the game but unfortunately not enough to create any substantial XP increase; since the last handout he gets 199 XP, mainly for exploration and 'being clerical' ( = praying for both Thorelf and the dead monk ). His total XP is now: 940 - still some way to level 2.

How you all got home ? Your horses wondrously swam across from the other side then took you home safely to Slowcroft. All your stats and HP return to normal state.
Do you have another adventure planned for us?!?!
Thanks for asking! Well, perhaps... but right now I'm off on summer vacation. You could, in the meantime, for example ponder over that map the statue head spat out.....nudge nudge wink wink ;)

Thanks again all for this time round!
