Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
The rat dodges Korin's blow and snaps back: Giant rat to hit: [1d20] = 12, damage: [1d3] = 3 / 5% chance diseased bite: [1d100] = 89 without effect. Meanwhile, Korin senses the smell of the river drifting in from an opening in the opposite wall.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Korin takes another swing at the rat. Broad Sword [1d20 +1] = 20+1 = 21 to hit [2d4 +3] = 2+3 = 5 s/m dmg [1d6 +4] = 2+4 = 6 lrg dmg

Korin successfully decapitates the rodent. Its head falls splashing into the already crimson puddles surrounding the body on the floor.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Korin searches the area near the dead rat to get a better look at what it was eating/attacking before he opened the door.

Phoenix will move in to see what’s occurring. Andnhelpnsewrch the area for secret exits and such like. And treasure. Always treasure.
Greys Campaign.
Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Korin discovers that what the rat was chewing away at is a dead monk, who was probably killed by something bigger than the rat: as the monk's back head looks bashed in.
Phoenix finds no secret exits, however, the opening in the wall opposite that Korin saw is clearly visible to Phoenix as well.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Together, Phoenix and Korin discover that the monk was carrying 4 sp in his pouch.
Thinking back on the description young Timmy Oathead blurted out back at the pub:
Thinking back on the description young Timmy Oathead blurted out back at the pub:
and the picture Timmy scribbled of the event: doesn't really give Korin much to go on, to decide if this is actually the monk Timmy meant. But hey, it's a monk, 100% dead, hit from behind, and very near the spot Timmy described."First we saw a monk, a priest man, praying, on the other side, on the river bank, like, and we hid in the grass. Really funny, there's no church there! Just a hole in the mud! I laughed and Kev was really scared he'd see our bucket. Then the newt man came out, he was like a newt but on two legs!!! Really big! Milly began to cry, I said quiet and then THUMP he hit him. We ran as fast as we could."

Korin continues into the area the dead monk is in and begins looking around the room.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Phoenix will quietly begin to look for tracks in the ground/muck etc. If this is the monk we seek, which seems logical given his crushed skull, here may be some kind of lizard men/troglodyte type enclave nearby. We should be vigilant. Without my magic I will Be if little use if it comes to a fight. We need to rest!
Greys Campaign.

Ox- Looks around the room for any signs of what may have killed the monk.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
The front of the monk's blood stained robe is embroidered with symbols representing the elven deity Corellon Larethian.Norbold moves into area with the dead monk and tries to determine which church of worship the fellow came from and says some prayers for the departed.
It is a 20x20 room, extremely damp, with filthy stains and mould covering the walls. The floor is wet, with pools of water fouled by the blood of the victim. On the wall opposite is an oval opening through which fresh air wafts in.Korin continues into the area the dead monk is in and begins looking around the room.
Foot prints of rat, monk slippers and large clawed feet are everywhere on the soggy floor. A struggle has obviously taken place here.Phoenix will quietly begin to look for tracks in the ground/muck etc.
No signs - it was probably not the rat anyway.Ox- Looks around the room for any signs of what may have killed the monk.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
ooc: is the oval opening the only visible portal in and out of the room other than the way we came in?

<slam!> - The door you all entered through, closes by itself. No cracks, handles, or hinges can be seen in its place; just damp, mouldy wall where it was.
