Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Phoenix uses his gnomish expertise to check the walls and floor and ceiling inside the tunnel for safety, looking to see if they slide or shift at all. Does the passage slope downwards at all?

Korin uses his dwarf abilities to determine more about the tunnel they are in. "I can tell ya it's not a long passage fer sure."

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Neither Ox nor Korin see any warm shapes emerging when using their infravision - it's just low key monochrome ahead.
(assuming he has now entered the passage) Phoenix' gnomal abilities keenly sense a slight upward slope - i e the passage ascends ever so slightly from the entrance. But not very much.
Apart from that, he finds no trace of any sliding or shifting wall sections just here.

ooc: I was meaning that I was using my dwarf abilities for underground not infravision. The following is what Korin was trying to learn. Determine depth 50%, detect grade or slope 75%, detect new const. passage or tunnel 75%, detect sliding/shifting walls/rooms 66.6%, detect traps involving pits or stonework 50%

Phoenix will enter in the marching order planned once it's clear nothing lurks just inside the mound here.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
- OK, gotcha, sorry about that. As Korin's infravision is 'always on' when in the dark, and as he was first in line I thought I'd just mention what he (didn't) see when gazing into the dark.ooc: I was meaning that I was using my dwarf abilities for underground not infravision. Korin, like Phoenix, too applies his natural skills in sub-surface orientation and comes to the same conclusion: the passage they're in goes a litlle upwards, but not dramatically so - and no other special features noted at this time.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Korin shrugs and proceeds to follow the passage motioning for the others to join him "Might wanna bring a light but it be a short passage going slightly up."

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
After a few more steps, Korin and Ox note that the passage suddenly widens. From how the sounds they make (footsteps, clanking of armour etc) bounce back, it seems to suggest that the passage has ended in a walled enclosure of some kind. But how this space looks exactly is hard to say, as it is pitch dark.
Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Letting his infravision adjust to the darkness Phoenix will try and figure out what shape the room is and if here are any other different temperature things or beings within, apart from the companions of course.
Greys Campaign.
Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
When Phoenix squints ahead in the passage, all that his infravision can pick up is the warm fuzzy silhouettes of Ox and Korin who are right in his field of vision. Whatever lies beyond them (if anything) is all but indistinguishable from where Phoenix is standing just now.

Korin follows the passage at a slow pace trying his best to move silently while moving forward.

Norbold Ernessaeia (Sylvanian Elf Cleric): Scale Mail AC 6 : Hit Points 6 / 6:
With a left hand lightly upon Phoenix's head, as it becomes darker inside the passage.
Quietly says, "Eh, anyone bring any torches?"

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Ox reaches back and pulls a torch from his pack and lights it. I guess stealth is out of the question with the clanking of our armor.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
In the flickering torchlight, a damp, dingy 20x20 square room emerges, with various footprints, fish bones, twigs etc across the floor.

Korin checks for traps and the like on and around the door then once decided if it is clear will listen at the door for any sounds.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Korin tries the door to see if it is locked. If it is not locked he opens the door.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Ox stands ready behind Korin. Shall I kill the lantern before you open the door?

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
The door does not seem to be locked.
Please roll 1d6 for Korin's door opening attempt ( + reply to Ox about killing torch o/no) Thanks.
