Re: Part 5: Necromancer where for art thou?
I don't recall if I made this in any prior posts but lets just go with this simple d6 check system for searching 1-2 = finding something 3-6 nothing is found
Bandir search roll Search Roll [1d6] = 6, 1-2 = find something 3-6 = find nothing
Bandir searches but cannot find anything secret or hidden trigger, button or pressure plate or otherwise.
Arthur search roll Search Roll [1d6] = 5, 1-2 = find something 3-6 = find nothing
Arthur searches but finds nadda.
Crow search roll Search Roll [1d6] = 5, 1-2 = find something 3-6 = find nothing
Crow searches but comes up empty.
Pheras search roll Search Roll [1d6] = 5, 1-2 = find something 3-6 = find nothing
Pheras aids in the search but also finds nothing.

Yes appears the roller is quite evil lately.Cwreando wrote:Argh the DM dice are loaded.
I'll just assume the whole group will search so here are the rest of the rolls.
Krakus search roll Search Roll [1d6] = 5, 1-2 = find something 3-6 = find nothing
Krakus searches and finds nothing.
Mathias search roll Search Roll [1d6] = 1, 1-2 = find something 3-6 = find nothing
Mathias searches and locates something revealing to the others a secret/hidden button in the rock on the wall.
Arastor search roll Search Roll [1d6] = 4, 1-2 = find something 3-6 = find nothing
Arastor searched and found nothing as well.
Mathias the dwarf points out what he has found to the others at the first set of double doors.

Really Mathias found a button yet nobody has pressed it and you want to burn the door in a enclosed cave? Do you want to suffocate?

Re: Part 5: Necromancer where for art thou?
Bandir and Arthur state, "At Last we have found a button. Ok, I say everyone back here on either side of the hallway around the corner. Let Crow or a Healthy brute move up and press the button. IF there are traps he'll have the best chance of avoiding them. Once the door is open and it's safe we can move up and check things out together."
Arthur and Bandir move so they are just around the corner from the door in the other hallway. "Ready when you are."

Crow raises his eyebrow and shakes his head at his inability to find the button. He'll examine it for any signs of trickery before pushing it.

Crow finds nothing. He looks around to see that everyone is ready.. and presses the button. He is alert for any sudden pits opening under his feet, flying blades, or some other nefarious trap....

Re: Part 5: Necromancer where for art thou?
Crow pushes Mathias's button ... and the there is the sound of a door bar being slid open and then a click sound as it sounds like the door lock has been unlocked. Beyond that the door does not move no pit traps or anything happens aside from in the distance a metallic clink is heard near where you all rested and fought spiders and werewolves. The necromancer or dark mage's voice issues forth again no seen magical mouth is seen "I do so hope you are enjoying your time here with my pets. Though I have to admit you defeated Frank far easier than I would've thought. Never mind that you are now in my cavern, we'll be seeing each other again once more in glorious battle. Oh and there is a welcoming party on it's way do enjoy the fray." evil laughter rolls on for a bit then the voice is gone once more.
What do you do next check the other door down the other passage? Try opening the doors and see what awaits on the other end? Go see what that loud metal clank was back near the spider/werewolf den?
Actions?

Crow spits out a 'that fukin' figures..." and quickly retreats, "Fall back towards the pit - we'll let that be a barricade for us for what may approach! 'Ware the rear!"
Here we go!

Re: Part 5: Necromancer where for art thou?
Falls back to the pit as Crow suggests. He draws his sword and looks down the back way ready to be a rear guard as the others follow behind. "It never ends here, does it?"
ooc: Should the attack come from the front, would Arastor be able to safely shoot over their heads ect into melee, or would the way be too narrow?

Map Update:
Retreating you are stopped before you can reach the pit trap area. This is what you see...that your path is barred quite literally. You notice also the doors you left open are closed.

Skidding to a stop he turns around to hollar back as he rushes back to the rest of the group. "We have a big problem Gentlemen! The way we came is blocked. I suspect we have a fight on the way, and we are trapped."
