Doubtful

When his panic stops, the humiliation seeps in which turns into a seething rage.

Gritting his teeth he mutters, You know what, burning this goddamn house down to the ground might be just the thing. My uncle always said: fire cures laughter.

Doubtful takes a look down the back hall to make sure he can still Ermulf and Ben safe (assuming this means Vhing will be too). Then he quietly stalks back into the room he fled to make sure the others are ok, fingering his crowbar and honing murderous thoughts.

Keilif:

Keilif hurriedly follows the three petrified men into the other room and attempts to rationalize with them, "Calm down before someone gets hurt! We need to get to Danny and Alec before they run off the edge of the damn cliff!" He rushes out the back door to check on the other two men.

Jónas Gillman

To defend himself against this psychotic onslaught, Jónas imagines the soothing solitude of his favorite secret bay... He delves under. A sound fills his mind: very different to the sonic torture experienced beforehand.

To calm his nerves, Jónas casts his "Conch" cantrip on himself. He stays in trance about a minute. Hopefully this will strengthen him a bit against future brain wrecking!
--Conch
Effects one person (either the caster (no save) or somebody humanoid (gets to save))
This cantrip causes the target to hear that specific reverberating 'sound of the ocean' you usually experience when you put a conch to your ear. It's loud enough to be a distraction, or to break concentration even.
Jónas, on the other hand, has another use for it as well: he casts it on himself, to reach a sort of a trance-like dreamstate he LOVES. He also uses it to cancel out the insults shouted at him.
When he casts it on himself, he can either enter into a meditative state, or do some simple, repetitive tasks in the meantime. E.g. he drifts of, while his hands are still moving and he keeps punching holes into leather belts.
But when he casts it on somebody else, he needs to concentrate to maintain the effect, and cannot act in the meantime.

Burly stands there, mouth agape, as his companions shit themselves and run screaming from the room..."like a bunch of girls." He mutters to Keilif, who then leaves to console their friends.
Burly figures they'll come back eventually...and so he grabs the handle and yanks on the trap door to open it.
Winter is coming...

Ben looks at Ermulf in surprise, "Where the hell are they going in such a hurry?!?" He grabs his club as tight as he can in his sickly condition and peers up the hallway from which they came. Does he see anything alarming?

Keilif:

After seeing Danny and Alec return to join the group, Keilif appraches the unconscious Vhing. The young fisherman then rummages in his pocket and retrieves a small container. "I found this in the old desk before all hell broke loose. Maybe it can help our overzealous friend."He unscrews the lid and examines its contents. As an after thought, Keilif adds, "If we've learned anything so far, I think it is that we should try to stay together as much as possible."

After a bit of chaos, the group is able to come to their senses once again. Ben looks around and sees Keilif suddenly take off out the back door as well. Down the other hall, he sees the members of his party beginning to slowly regain their composure. Keilif passes Alec who is on his way back inside and then finds Danny near the well.

Alec the dwarf feels a little silly for running away like that so he returns to the house and joins the others in the kitchen. He isn't exactly sure if he even wants to return to that freaky room. Ermulf just shrugs at Bens question as he addresses the embarrassed dwarf.

What the heck happened up there? You must have seen something pretty darn bad if it made a dwarf run away!

Jervis wonders what just took place in his mind as Jonas drifts off magically to find his happy place. Doubtful runs through the many bad emotions in his mind. He quotes a deranged uncle and again mentions burning the whole damnable place to the ground. He begins to notice that everyone is still ok so he decides to move back towards the laughing room to check on the ever curious baker who is now all alone in the madcap laughter room.

Keilif, Alec, and Danny stop by Ben, Ermulf, and the unconscious Vhing in the kitchen. Keilif is completely honest about the little treasure that he found in the secret compartment in the desk drawer. He pulls it from his pocket to have a closer look in hopes that it might contain something to help out his ailing friends.

The small glass jar has a metal screw top and a wax seal all around the lid that still looks intact. The future acolyte of Shileil unscrews the lid, breaking the seal and releasing the demon. ;)

Inside the small glass jar is a yellowish salve that has an odor similar to a baby's dirty diaper. There is a divider inside the container that splits the salve into three equal amounts. The smell of the salve is incredibly offensive to the olfactory senses and is extremely hard to get used to.

Ben quips, "if we want to do that, we better keep our ambitious friend here unconscious..."

Watching curiously at the foul smelling drink, he'll volunteer to try a sip if it works on Vhing. Anything to stop throwing up all over the place.

Jervis shakes his head clear. Listenign to the conversation about the rank salve he shakes his head and goes back to the trap door.

Such foul magic can only mean what we seek is below.

Once again Jervis moves to open the doors.

Keilif:

Keilif twists his face up at the putrid smell of the salve. He looks to the others, "What do you think? Should we apply some to Vhing's wounds?"

Alec
I cannot explain why it affected me so strong. If you choose to use the salve on Vhing, it can do him no harm-else it kills him.

Alec grits his teeth and returns to the trapdoor, looking down and hoping his Darkvision will help identify the source of the noises.

Ben jokes around that maybe the group would be better at cooperation if Vhing remained unconscious. He pays close attention to what Keilif does with the stinky salve, hoping it might also cure his debilitating spider poison ailment.

Unwilling to simply take it upon himself, Keilif asks those nearby if he should apply the disgusting cream to Vhings ghastly neck wounds.

Alec answers that it couldn't hurt him too much more as he then reluctantly moves back towards the front of the house to join the others.

Doubtful, Jonas, and Jervis also move back into the westernmost room to join back up with Burly. The baker greets them with a sly smile on his face.

He quietly shuts the trap door with one finger pressed to his lips. He then turns to address his friends. He exclaims to them excitedly as they enter, "I got him, fellers! I got him!"

Keilif:

Saying a prayer to Shiliel, Keilif dips two of his fingers into the salve and smears some of the disgusting smelling ointment onto Vhing's gruesome neck wounds. He only applies a small amount, hoping to get some positive reaction from the half-orc before proceeding to add more. "Shilel help me if I've harmed the man further" He waits patiently for any response.

Doubtful

Worried about how potentially alarming this may be, Doubtful reluctantly asks: What do you have down there, Burly?

"I opened the trap door and there was this man playing some god-awful sounding tune. Sounded like he was skinning a cat. So...I figured he was a person of interest, maybe even the reason they say this place is haunted. I didn't want him to get away, so I glazed him to the floor with one of Granny's simple charms. Go ahead! Take a look!"

Burly walks back to the trapdoor and reaches to open it.
Winter is coming...

In the kitchen……
The concerned Keilif begins to apply the awful smelling salve to the half-orcs numerous neck holes. Almost instantly, the obvious infection that was beginning to spread starts to diminish. After a few seconds the wounds look much better and are actually starting to close up and heal. He then spreads more of the disgusting goop from his fingers onto the wounds and more healing occurs. healed 5

Vhing suddenly sits up with a curious look on his usually sullen face. He still seems rather weak, but he is now able to function somewhat normally. Ben looks into the small jar in Keilifs hand and sees that there are still two doses of the pungent yellow slime left. Despite the nasty smell, the future cleric watches Vhings wounds heal right before his very eyes and soon realizes that the salve must be a highly magical gift from the gods themselves.

In the trap door room……
As the others return, Burly explains that the noises they were hearing from the other side of the trap door came from a man playing badly on some type of recorder or other similar musical instrument. He then proudly exclaims that he cast one of granny’s minor spells that will keep the man stuck right where he is.

The door is cracked opened slightly again and the bakers report turns out to indeed be true. Beyond the trap door is a set of steps that lead down into a large, well lit room that looks to be used as a barracks for a substantially large group of people. Even from your limited vantage point, you can see several makeshift beds that are all lined up against one long wall. There is also a long wooden table at the foot of the stairs that is surrounded by about a dozen small stools.

The man is seated at the corner of the table near the base of the stairs. He is positioned with his back partially to the stairs and it would appear by the sound of his continued horrific playing that he hasn’t yet noticed that he is being watched. The man is dressed in a white puffy shirt and thick brown leather pants and boots. He wears a red bandana on his head for a do rag and a large floppy leather hat over the top of that. His playing is absolutely terrible and actually hurts your ears a little as you listen.
