Kormak ducks back out of the way.

Maya will remain in cover, waiting for the ranged volleys to end
Victor stays with the rest of the group, torch held and waiting for the battle dynamic to change.
He does not let the cultists join in their reindeer games...

Jareth Sands
Jareth is beginning to become irritated with the enemy forces. They are bogging down his group with missile fire and their is nothing he can do to help.
" I hope this exchange of missile fire concludes soon in our favor. I am beginning to her myself think and we both know that is a dangerous thing don't we Borum old friend."
Borum
" I can surely agree with that Jareth. The less thinking you do the less likely you are to get us all into trouble. But look on the bright side, as supporting members of the party we don't have to charge the enemy first. Oh wait you did that earlier oops. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha.

Jareth sneers down at Borum and his jest.
" Very funny Borum "

Ok, now that Luna recognized 2 of the shambling figures as members from his adventuring group, what do you do here?!
Luna knows that their poster & manner of walk is all wrong & you know something behind them may still have more javelins or bolts on them !

Re: Chapter 13: A Fate of Unlife?!
Luna quickly noting Lutha's tragic mistake, snarls at Lutha "Egad...you fool" then points to the figures up ahead and continues "It's Gus!! You've maimed our brother elf!!"
Lutha, not having a clue who Gus or Trindon are, just stops, staring at both Luna and towards the shamblers.
Wolfram however, quickly realises the gravity of the situation and pulls/drags both his uncles by their beards back to Mort and Kormak, hissing "Psst! A combat error just took place. Friendly forces up ahead - but we may have hit them"

Mort "Yes and they may have hit us as well. That or someone behind them using them as shields is attacking us. Kormak is in no shape to do much of anything at the moment."
Kormak 2/10 HP sits down out of the way groaning and holding his head.

Lutha: "A shield is attacking us ? What does he mean, Wolfram?"
Wolfram: "Nevermind, uncle. Luna - hand us your belt" aiming to bind Kormak's head
Luna: "Many hands save nine! OK, here, young Wolfram. But I want it back, soon" he says while keeping one eye on the 'Gus' group

Re: Chapter 13: A Fate of Unlife?!
Mort "Ever hear the term meat shield? Or Human shield? That is what they are using your friends as. Behind them are hobgoblins or orcs shooting at us." the rogue explains getting a bit irritated having to explain to an adult what most children should understand. Rolling his eyes as he hears Lutha speak.

Is the party going to wait for Luna's friends to come around the corner? (They were only like 20 feet away down a straight passage going west).
Or some other action going to take place?

Luna admonishes Mort: "Tut-tut, an empty mind delivers no heroes!", then to all: "We must save Gus. A mean little grave-robber he may be, but he fought well on our side. And now we've hurt him"
Lutha: "Huh ? Who's hurting ? Speak up, brother, you're mumbling"

Re: Chapter 13: A Fate of Unlife?!
Luna quickly decides that magic is the only option. He nods to Wolfram, and they both swerve around the corner. From behind Wolfram's shield cover, Luna quickly fires off a sleep spell (range 3" + 1"/level) at the oncoming shamblers (=< 2" away).
(As Luna bungled a sleep spell last time round, he will this time be very careful to aim it only at the approaching group, so it won't affect Lutha, Wolfram, Mort or Kormak. If Gus and any other friends used as shields by the shamblers also fall asleep - then too bad; they can be dragged off to safety while the sleeping shamblers are dealt with)

Maya will wait for the sleep spell to go off, her sword and shield at the ready to go around the corner and begin cutting down any enemies not affected by the sleep spell.

As Wolfram & Luna swerve around the corner & Luna fires off the Sleep Spell, the sound of weapons clanking on the floor is heard from behind what appears to be 4 shambling figures now, which are still standing & coming for the group ! "Luunnnnaaaa"
The Spell is cast on either Gus Niminus or Trindon the Monk & both are 20 feet away from where Luna Cast the spell.
The spell's target can be up to 90 feet away.
The spell's area of effect is 31 ft diameter & after I put an aura up, it appears Wolfram is right on the edge of it !
I'll say it made Wolfram a bit drowsy & starts to fall but that Luna sees this & grabs & shakes him & slaps him right after the casting.

Re: Chapter 13: A Fate of Unlife?!
Just after I decided to let Luna cast the spell I realised I wasn't 100% aware of how 'Sleep' works in this particular world. So: apologies if this means that a sleep spell from Luna might once again unintentionally upset the game.
Re: Chapter 13: A Fate of Unlife?!
Borum and Jareth follow the party in almost total confusion. Bickering back and forth about their grandiose dream to one day open a pub that hosts the grand illusionist JARETH!!!!(Air guitar solo) As entertainment.

Borum
" Jareth what should we call the pub? "
Jareth
" This is a good question my short friend. I believe we should name it something classy in order to target wealthy clientele. Something like "The Hearth and Vale Tavern " or " The Inn of quiet Repose ".
Borum
" Hmm....... I like that one about the hearth, I'm not to sure about that quiet repose stuff. "
