OOC Chat.

#1 Post by crazy ski 1701 »

Howdy howdy, this thread is for Out Of Character chat between players or asking questions, or just general messing about so we don't clog the in game threads.

Good, good, let's get this party started!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfgK2NagRJg
Here's some music to get into mood.
So what are we going to do now - now that it's here
But listen to you talking - about the after care
Living in boxes - covered in lead
In three feet of concrete - to keep us from the dead
It's a fallout - it's a fallout

You'd better run for shelter - and put yourself in a
Fallout suit
You'd better get yourself used to - just living in a
Fallout suit
A satellite clockwork information - is going to give you
The duration
Of the fallout...

EERRRRRRR........
GM concerns,

What gear are you taking to the Stuffer Shack? seeing as you just came out of a training area. you might be covered in paintballs, or real blood, dead chickens, sofa stuffing.. and so on.. and so on...

are you wearing your combat gear or street clothing. do you remember to re-load?

Like I posted in the game thread I am wearing my normal grunge wear, my longcoat (although I should be more specific - Mortimer "Ulysses" Coat), a survival knife, and my HK hidden in my long coat.

Sorry, guess I should have posted that here.

Well, the Stuffer Shack scene escalated pretty quickly, I guess I missed my cue there. Warn me when the game-game is about to commence!

Lol it sure did escalate quickly fulci! I don't think it is. I believe it's just a starter mission for us to get our feet wet and flesh out any bugs that come up playing shadowrun on pbp.

you can still jump in, with a "what the fuck is going on!?" moment

to be honest, i wasn't expecting the game to accelerate that quickly either, was hoping for a team coming together scene before the work sort of exploded :P

hey hey .. even though we're still wrapping up the "test" game i've got a few ideas on how to convert the game to PbP.

ok, biggest one, initiative. in the table top version, you can get multiple actions in one initiative pass, and many times, you may have multiple actions before anyone else goes. so you'd act, I as GM would give you the result, then you would act again. all the while other players are waiting. thats doesnt work in PbP as players maybe waiting for days before they can act! not fun.

thou to be fair, this scene was made messy because 2 players and myself were on the chat page at the same time, so we could play table top style without a problem. if that happens again, hopefully with the entire team online, thats fine, we can play that way.

ok, to fix this, i want to try this...
everyone rolls initiative and i stack you up as normal. everyone posts in the order of the stack, fastest to slowest, so you can see what the person before you is doing, so you don't have to attack the same target if you don't want to. Then, everything happens AT ONCE.
this creates a bit of a jumble on my end, but i shouldn't be under time pressure, like in tabletop.
so, if you roll in the 20s, you have to tell me all 3 actions you want to do in the Pass. i do the whole team in the order of the stack up, then the enemies. all the results post at 0 then we roll again.

all clear? muddy watter? obsidian stone?

please tell me whatcha think, i crave in-put.

Sounds good to me boss. Ill have to think up multiple actions but that doesn't seem like it will be to much of a headache.
