Re: Chapter 04: What lurks below
Jacob moves up, keeping low and out of arrow fire. intent on inspecting that metal thing.
Life is a roller coaster, if you don't stop to enjoy it then you may as well not even ride.
Re: Chapter 04: What lurks below
NB: No goblins in sight. All you can see up ahead, in your general line of fire, is Korin's outline against a dark room's half-open doorway. Shoot anyway ?Ox - Fires his bow at the first goblin in his line of sight.
To Jacob, the metal thingy appears to be a clothes-rack, or an armour-rack, shaped roughly like a torso, to drape wearable items over. It looks like it has been broken loose from a wood stand, and also a bit bent, most likely from being tossed over the door.
Re: Chapter 04: What lurks below
Ox is drow he can see 120' ft in dark. If he still cannot see. He will not shoot.

Open Doors 1-3 [1d6] = 2Nordbo wrote:OOC: GW, I wondered about your "Open Doors 13" and 1d20 roll, and then saw that it said '13' on your character sheet. In the PHB a character with 18/28 strength gets Open doors on a 1-3 (using 1d6). So, guessing that a hyphen possibly got left out on Korin's character sheet, I'll convert your d20 roll to a d6 result. 6 on a d20 equals rolling 1.8 on a 1d6 (if that was possible), which anyway is well within the 1-3 you need. Success!Korin "Clear me a path." once everyone steps out of the way the dwarf charges at the door to smash it open with his shield and his muscle behind it. Korin Open Doors 13 [1d20] = 6
Korin's brute force and solid dwarven frame create the impact necessary to smash the door open and send the goblins tumbling backwards, shrieking. He can't push the door fully open though, due to the physical volume of junk behind it. As Korin straightens himself in front of the half open door to the dark room, something is thrown over the top edge of the door: some kind of metal frame thingy. It falls straight down towards Korin!
But behind him, Jacob and Ox and Norbold are amazed to see: when halfway down, the metal thing swerves sideways then crashes to the floor - without ever touching Korin.

Norbold Ernessaeia [Sylvanian Elf Cleric: Scale Mail AC 6 : 2 / 2 HP]:
Looks ahead through the door with his infravision, if no torch/lantern is interfering with it.
If there is obstruction in front of the door he would lob a light shot over it & hope it hits something, provided no one is already charging in & trying to push the obstructions aside.

Re: Chapter 04: What lurks below
Using infravision, Korin can only see dim shapes through the half-open door, from this angle. No living things in his line of sight:
I assumed Korin dropped the torch when he charged the door. Whoever picked it up glares out Ox and Norbold's infravision. Even if it remains on the floor, burning, it still disrupts any attempts from the corridor to infraview through Korin, who's anyway blocking half the half-open doorway. For next move, pls state who holds the torch, thanks !
However, he can hear living things - flustered yelps round behind the door. I assumed Korin dropped the torch when he charged the door. Whoever picked it up glares out Ox and Norbold's infravision. Jacob can hold the torch.
Jacob simply follows behind the others, providing torch light and not being the first target the goblins fire on.

Re: Chapter 04: What lurks below
When everyone moves up behind Korin to peer into the room, this is the torchlit view:
Round behind the door the raspy voices sound a bit more panicky: "Go go go! Big Wob kill you! Many Wob!" (in broken Common)
Some more of the armour/clothes racks lie toppled on the floor, probably after Korin's push. Plus other stuff used to block the door. Bunk beds seem to be fixed to the left wall.Round behind the door the raspy voices sound a bit more panicky: "Go go go! Big Wob kill you! Many Wob!" (in broken Common)

Poking their heads around the door, where Jacob's torchlight out in the corridor can't reach, Korin and Ox use their infravision to see two bipeds cowering inside the room:

Korin "You go right I'll take left." then he throws his axe at the one on the left (in the image.)
Hand/Throwing Axe [1d20 +1] = 18+1 = 19 to hit [1d6 +3] = 5+3 = 8 s/m dmg
init[1d6] = 5
