Chapter 2: The Scramble for the Egg Begins

The Party is gathered in Lord Warden Hart's Manor courtyard with all their gear & the pack mule, Tewahutes.

Lord Warden Hart & Jahyain & now Berenion Galithil whom was filled in on what happened this morning, are here to see

the party off & wish them well on their journey.

As you leave the center of town, you see that the sun is just starting to rise.

Two guards somberly escort you to the mountain road.

The map you were provided seems to indicate that your path leads this way towards Gaer Anobaith and The Foamy Mugg Inn.

The guards stop as you reach the town gate. “Gaer Anobaith is sixty miles along this road.

There is an inn there to rest from your travels." The guards say they think that Idhrenwen can be found there.

"May Brennna hasten your steps.”

Elusev:

Silently nods towards the guards, ready to move out with the others as soon as possible.

Tuireann:

Will guide Tewahutes by his lead along the snow covered mountainous road with the rest of the party.

Dungeon Master:

The party will march at a rate of 3 miles per hour.

It's up to the party how many hexes worth of travel per day you wish to go, however you will become fatigued & i will have you roll a constitution check.

There will also be the usual wandering monster checks.

Cayley:

"A prayer before we start out," she fingers her holy symbol and bows her head, "Lord help us do well, all we have to do. Guide us and keep us, the good people of this city, and the dragon's egg free from harm on our important mission."

The priestess raises her eyes, "Lead on." She takes a position near the rear of the party.

Jenks:

The rogue appears from the shadows as the party is about to set out. He stifles a yawn and takes up a position towards the middle of the group, though not behind the mule as he wishes go keep his new boots clean.

Four miles out from Caer Brennau's gate you see what appears to be a merchant caravan coming down the road towards you.

You make out 2 guards on horseback to either side of a 4-horse-drawn covered wagon, of which a man & a woman sit in front.

The Doctor:

Hope i am not confused as to what game and character i am it's been a very busy week or two for me. Will follow along with the rest of the party near to the front of the march.

Arn:

Question: Do the guards look to be from Caer Brennau, another town, or mercenaries?

Arn the Congealer waves his hand and hails the caravan as they approach. He attempts to be courteous and friendly, but formal in his address.

'Good morning to you, sirs and madam. Have you come from Gaer Anobraith? We are headed somewhat that way, and ask tidings of the place if you have been there recently.'

If he gets within 60', Arn will also attempt a Detect Evil, first on the caravan (or rather, the interior of the caravan), then the merchants & guards.

Hemlocks:

Again, why are we going towards Gaer Anobaith and The Foamy Mugg Inn? Is it to gather more information about who stole the egg. Who are we to speak to at the inn?

Watching Arn approach the caravan, Hemlocks takes notice off to his left and right of the party for a possible ambush.

Teladrin:

Content to let Arn do the talking, Teladrin keeps an eye on the guards, looking for any signs of hostility.

Elusev:

Remains where he is, watching the caravan and the surrounding forest.

Dungeon Master:

The guards appear to wear similar outfits as the guardsmen in Caer Brennau, so yes they appear local.

Arn says,
"Good morning to you, sirs and madam. Have you come from Gaer Anobraith? We are headed somewhat that way, and ask tidings of the place if you have been there recently."

They all acknowledge Arn & the party with a "Good Morning."

The Guard on the side closest to Arn replies,

"Aye Sir, yes, we come from the area, these folks here are farmers, looking to sell their crops in Caer Brennau."

"Things in Gaer Anobaith, have been hectic as of late, as bands of Goblins have been making raids in the area. I am afraid it may get worst."

Muses to himself saying in a low tone "Isn't it strange to be aiding a dragon?" T

hen he looks as if in a conversation in his head "Ah yes well that would make a bit of sense now wouldn't it."

Again i looks like you might be hearing parts of a internal conversation. He stops if anyone starts to stare at him,

"Hmm well I must have been thinking out loud again Terrible habit I've got sorry everybody."

Tuireann turns to the doctor. "It's no bother. I would only worry if you started arguing with yourself and were losing." cracks a smile on his face when he speaks.

"Greetings, any word on a half-elf named Idhrenwen?"
