This is the first time for many of you, entering Atlas City like this; it is a grand spectacle to behold, with shining obelisks reaching into the heavens themselves, great towers and statues erected in greeting of all new-comers to the island city. Somewhere, in the heart of it all, lies Rook Industries main HQ, and perhaps, the means to end the ichnorite threat once and for all!

Go ahead and post here when you are ready.

Raven takes in the surrounding, observing everything around them in detail. He makes sure that the sword is strapped to his belt and hidden by his coat, the coat hiding another secret of his as well. He makes sure that Daisy, the rocket launcher, is slung over his shoulder, the words written in marker along the side spelling DAISY still fresh and vivid. slung over his other shoulder is the rifle he procured from the soldiers, the rifle now sporting large words written along the side as well, spelling "MAURICE".

The emotionless man definitely looks ready to take down something.. or somethings.

The Professor keeps a discrete distance from the affectless man brimming with weapons. He looks faintly embarrassed by the whole proceedings.

As always in an uncomfortable situation, Perryton defaulst to pedantic. Gazing up at the awe-inspiring buildings of Atlas City, he quotes Winston Churchill, "'We shape our buildings. Thereafter, they shape us.'

"Max, observe the proportions of the dominant buildings. Every line, every space speaks to ascension, to energy, moving upwards towards the heavens in defiance of gravity. It is almost impossible for the eye to linger on the ground, to inspect the gutter. Have you read on psychotecture?

"What influence must it have on the mind to live among such mighty edifices? Does it press down upon the individual soul the weight of their insignificance? Or does living in a city for gods inflate the soul with divine pretension?

"I wonder if they sell picture-postcards?"

"Whoa! So this is Atlas City? This is the first time I've seen it from the inside, incredible!" Permafrost is ecstatic and it certainly shows as she darts her attention back and forth between all of the grand sights. The group of supers disembarks the ship they were on and makes their way to a security checkpoint. A bunch of scanning aparratuses is seen, as well as a few armored guards in high tech suits. As you approach, one of the guards with a clipboard holds up a hand and commands them to stop. "Halt. Atlas Security Force is to inspect all incoming persons and equipment. If you will place your items upon the conveyor belt and stand under that device over there, we can begin immediately." The guard with the clipboard stares intensely at Raven's equipment. He then writes something down on the clipboard and resumes his instructions. "Upon approaching the scanner, you will be asked to show proper identification, a hero license as well if you are a super. Failure to comply will warrant lethal force, if necessary. You may all proceed."

To your left and right, you can see similar lines of incoming people going through the same process.

The Professor unloads his pockets into the grey plastic dish: "Oh, yes. Of course. Let's see. Glasses—I'll want those back, dear boy, can't see a thing without them. Cell phone—do me a favor and keep that blasted thing, nothing but a bother. Billfold, with ID, and yes, there's the license, can you believe they would make an old man sign such a thing? Pocket knife—not a weapon, just a useful little tool, hmm? Good for paring one's nails. Has a little screwdriver in it, too. Oh, this pin? Yes, a silver feather. Quite sentimental about it, please be careful. And some change, a handkerchief, pen, notepad, and keyring.

"Now where do I stand for this scanning apparatus?"

Raven observes the other people as well as the Atlas security as the professor goes through his routine and scanning, Raven then nods and heads up to the station, placing Daisy, and Maurice on the belt he then carefully slides his sword out of his belt, enough that his coat does not open that much, and places that too on the belt before stepping in front of the scanner. He watches the security guard for a moment before pulling out his Hero license and handing it to the guard. The whole procession is awkwardly quiet.

Everyone else goes through the same process, Raven being the last one to raise any suspicions with the items produced. After being scanned under the various apparatuses found on the site, all of the belongings are returned, including the hero licenses.

The group of supers and friends make their way past the security checkpoint and enters the front entrance of the city. They are greeted by a robotic drone that approaches them, offering its tour services of the 'Park of Beginnings'. Looking around, you get the feeling that many heroes have started their journies here once upon a time, it just gives that whole feeling and such. A giant statue of an iconic hero stands before them in standing salute. Right in front of the statue, a short walk away, is what appears to be a holographic information terminal slash bulletin board. You see many individuals standing around this terminal, some of them being supers like yourself, others in official business attire with suitcases and hats.

Up in the sky, you can see the traffic of flying vehicles, something that you would expect to see straight out of the future, though for some reason, Professor Perryton is not as wowed as the others. Perhaps his trip to Gorillapolis has prepared his mind for such things.

Raven looks over at the hologram, commenting to Elsa, "I don't think I should use that." the past experiences of him and electronics still fresh in both of their minds. Raven will stay with the group, following along and observing everything around them.

Professor Perryton addresses the party: "Well, we have made it. But to what end? What are our intentions here? Do we have specific leads to follow up upon, or are we beginning a cold search?"

Accessing the holographic information center, he asks, "Business listings for Rook Enterprises; business listing for Arikas Shipping; accommodations listing for some decent hotels; and a restaurant with a good shrimp salad sandwich."

S.C.A.M.P. takes in this stange and wonderous place. He sniffs the air. Are the smells as unique as the sights?

Accessing the holographic information center, he asks, "Business listings for Rook Industries; business listing for Arikas Shipping; accommodations listing for some decent hotels; and a restaurant with a good shrimp salad sandwich."
Stepping up to the information terminal, the professor observes the actions of those around him and follows similiar procedure. He faces the terminal and speaks up, asking the computer a series of questions. A few windows appear before him in response, layered and seperated by tabs. From watching others interact with the console, the professor can tell that it is touch-based as well as voice commanded.

He opens up the first window and finds a list of Rook Industries' public projects, its subsiderary branches, its manufacturing facilities on the island, and a link connected to the business' main website. A similar page is displayed for Arikas Shipping, all the information clean and organized like the first, with the addition of showing a schedule for all out and inbound shipments relevant to public groups involved.

The third tab shows a list of hotels, rooms for rent, and available rooms for apartment complexes. The quality of the selection is varied, showing a selections ranging from 3 to 5 star accommodations. The window also displays a very futuristic version of mapquest with the added feature of a free modem of transportation granted to those with a hero license. The four tab brings up a keyword based listing on all places that serve shrimp salad sandwiches. The restaurants featured looks promising, and as the professor touches a selection, a fold up menu materializes into his hands, holographic of course, but fully interactable. Apparently there is a place not too far away that boasts an excellent selection of sea-based foods, including the sandwich that the professor inquired about.

All four tabs are left open. The information displayed is broad and covers many things, but does not get too specific in some areas. Further input from the user will help refine the search.

As SCAMP sniffs the air and compares it to his stored memory banks on all known smells, he can detect that the air quality here is abnormally high. The air is actually healthy, and has a unique reagant in it that makes it such. The robotic canine has no information on this reagant as of yet, but on that note, he can detect no harmful substances in the surrounding area. The park is almost pristine.

The Professor pulls out his phone and taps it against the touch screen. He asks the kiosk, "Can you transfer this information onto this device?"

If he does not receive an affirmative reply, he will pull out his notebook and jot down the manufacturing facilities for Rook, the highest-rated (but not ostentatious) hotel with the best view of the water, and the restaurant nearest that hotel.

The Professor looks mildly surprised, as he often does when SCAMP speaks."OH! Yes, off course. Cross-reference for animal accommodations. Can leave our little friend out in the rain. Might rust."

If he does not receive an affirmative reply, he will pull out his notebook and jot down the manufacturing facilities for Rook, the highest-rated (but not ostentatious) hotel with the best view of the water, and the restaurant nearest that hotel.
As the professor asks for an information transfer, the screen pulls up another window and begins the process automatically in a fluid like manner, very adaptive in its programming, very intuitive. Looking upon the list of manufacturing facilities under Rook Industries, most of it is highly technological in nature. Formerly being only a weapons manufacturer, it has branched out into production of robotic drones used for both military and civilian jobs, field suits commonly used by the ASF, supers, and other private contracters, miscellaneous machinery used for factories and other high tech facilities, and just recently, the company has dived into the energy market, producing their own line of energy generators built off of a miraculous and very new subtstance, its origins in which are kept a company secret in the eyes of the public.

When the professor begins to take a look at the hotel listings, Permafrost/Elsa steps in and holds up a shiny platinum card. "I've got all of the group's expenses covered. *laughs* Don't worry! I am well connected and have quite the revenue to go off of." She then whispers so that only those directly next to her can hear. "Being royalty has its perks you know." And with that nugget of information safely stored away, Professor Perryton finds his selecting process VERY easy, and finds the location he was looking for, one that can even hold accomodations for SCAMP and the rest of the group.

The group has their goals for now, but I would like to hear from Raven and Scamp to see what they want to do in this 'Park of Beginnings'.
Permafrost goes to an ATM and proceeds in pulling out money for everyone's shopping expenses. For the sake of simplicity, we will say you have enough for anything your character might want to purchase. Though you do not have a set inventory limit right now, all I ask is that you be reasonable with how much your character will be carrying. Raven, for example, is already carrying quite a lot (rocket launcher and rifle, with a sword), adding some considerable weight to his inventory. If he wants to purchase anything else like ammunitions or basic gear from a general goods store, you will probably need to invest into a backpack or a series of chest straps and belt pouch satchels.

If it has not been made clear before, you are all at full damage/health right now, considering you just finished a mission (4C rules). Right now, I have Professor Perryton heading towards 'Today's Catch' for his shrimp salad sandwich, and Steve and Max heading towards the 'Just rolled a twenty' store for some comics and table top game items; right across from the store can be found a music shop.

Raven stays near Elsa, he looks down at the rifle labeled Maurice and his old friend Daisy the rocket launcher. His mind seems to be calculating something as he stares at them, his face still showing now emotion. He looks back up at Elsa, "I think I need to trade these in for something. I will be looking for a man selling guns." He then waits for her response, whether she is going with him or not, after hearing what she says he will head off to look.
