Sorry for the delay, folks. Final exams followed by family obligations really ate into my free time during the last week. Back now, though.

You trudge back downriver toward the bridge and the statues on this side of the river. You make you way along the hilly terrain along the bank of the river, and eventually the ruins of the bridge come into view. You approach the near side of the bridge, and the pair of statues standing near them.

As you approach, you notice something that you either hadn't noticed this morning, or has arrived since, three large, sleeping golden forms... Dragons! They are each about 20 feet long, curled up and basking in the cool spring sunshine, they are certainly not full grown. You do not see a hoard anywhere.

As the party approaches the the pair of statues & notices the young Gold Dragons:

Erico to Party in a soft spoken tone:
"Oh Wow. Gold Dragons are in our way. Uhmm, this could be a illusion or perhaps they are guarding something."

"Should we try to sneak around them, while avoiding the downwind to them, or would you all rather try to actually talk to them?"

Damiane looks at these 3 magnificent beasts and says: "I think these three are only interested in eating, mating and plundering. I doubt we want to be involved in any of that..."

Lucius looks slightly awe struck, but manages to stage whisper: Agreed, let's just move on. Maybe we can visit this side of the bridge another time.

"So gang what will it be? Sneak around the Gold Dragons to investigate the bridge statues? Talk to the Dragons? Turn around & go back, to come another day?"

Zaid agrees with Lucius and Damiane. He whispers, "Let us leave these creatures in peace."

Just to be clear... The dragons are sleeping "near" the statues, on the hill, but they are not encircling it or anything. It would be possible to get to the statue without bumping or stepping over them, but the entire company probably could not easily gather around it, with horses, etc, without running a substantial risk of waking them.

We should stay well away from these creatures. They could easily be the death of us.

Damiane looks at Erico and saysLook, if we all walk over there we will get eaten by dragons. IF you think you can sneak up and check out the statues I am sure we could wait over there and wait for you till you are finished...

Zaid nods. "By all means, Erico, go forth and look. I shall eagerly await your return and report... from here... Or possibly a bit further down yonder."

Damiane watches Erico sneak off and says "10 gold that he doesnt make it back in one piece..."

Zaid confirms that the group stands downwind of the dragons. If not, he suggests moving to a safer location to wait.

The winds are blowing to the northwest, so the bulk of the party, being to the west of the dragons is more or less downwind of them.

Erico sneaks up to the statues. Whatever noise he makes, the dragons do not stir as he approaches. Once he gets close, he sees that these statues are of two young men, holding a bowl aloft, just as the others were of two young women holding a bowl. These statues are crusted with a thin layer of dirt, and the underside of the bowl has a bit of moss gowning on it. peeking over the top of the bowl, he can see that there are damp leaves and sticks in it., and a thin layer of water covers the bottom of the bowl.
