OOC Stuff

#1 Post by OGRE MAGE »

This is where we can discuss Out Of Character ideas or issues that aren't related to character generation.

I like to keep the main game threads as clean and tidy as possible, so please use this thread to post any non game related content, jokes, memes, or whatever else that doesn't belong on the playing field. :D

I will start adding players to the game here shortly, so we can get this thing moving.

Welcome to the game and thanks for getting in!

I am just waiting on 2 more players to finalize their characters and we will kick this one away from the docks and see what happens.

I have started to populate the Meeting thread, but I left it locked for now so we don't get too far ahead of anyone.

(and because I have found this tactic to be a great motivator)

Once we get going, there will likely be a long Q&A session, so you can start thinking about your questions regarding the murder.

You mean we can't just ask Pelltar who did it? (and expect him to just give us the answer)

I do see this:
"I can handle getting any bits bits of unknown information around here, but I assure you if 7 people start walking through the castle or streets of Restenford, accosting anyone who looks guilty with concerning questions, this quest will be over before it starts. As I mentioned already, I believe your investigation starts in Garrotten. Blowing your cover by bullying folks in the streets is the last thing we need to do right now."
Does that mean everyone is forbidden (or encouraged against) speaking with the guard, even if it's not all seven of us? Maybe just one of the smaller groups and not the whole party? Or even just one or two of us?

I'm fine to skip Restenford. I just don't want to potentially leave without capturing all the details we can beforehand.

I'm not sure I understand entirely what you mean by this?

I don't want to police how others play their characters, if that is what you're asking?

And honestly not even sure how to do that, in a live game when someone does or says something that you might think is foolish you could yell "No", but that doesn't work so well in a online environment.

I am sure he means teamwork, consideration of how personal actions may affect other characters, communicating in character well with each other, having agreed plans rather than just doing random individual acts.

Our original plan had Redgrave and Lestadt in different groups.

Rex wrote: Fri Feb 04, 2022 4:24 pm Group 1: Redgrave, Carling, Zap, and Ashley

Group 2: Zahra, Draxon, and Lestadt/Michault

Should we re-organize?

Or maybe just swap Ashley and Lestadt as it doesn't matter to me which group/location Ashley investigates?

Right. I was improvising and continued the implied association Lestadt showed with Redgrave. We can regroup as originally planned at the inn.

However, another group could go there directly and recon the establishment and the regular customers, which as it sounds, might be on the shadier side.

So, maybe Zahra and Draxon meet Luna, Redgrave and Ledstadt visit the theatre, and the others recon the inn?

I think having a plan is a good idea and not going off on tangents is important.

Spearmint has the right idea, but please never feel obligated to do anything you don’t feel comfortable with.

I do enjoy seeing the table talk here. This thread will be your friend in this game.

If everyone is in agreement with this idea, I will get this rolling. Any objections or other ideas are obviously welcome.

I am good with it. Zahra makes sense for a couple of reasons as the one to talk to Luna.
