Still got some painting and straightening up to do, but I think it will work just fine...

Please don't rush and hurry to get your characters done. I am in no rush to get started - I want all of us to be ready to go. That said, looking ahead, when do you think would be a reasonable starting date? Maybe the weekend of the 12th? Or should we shoot for the 19th?

Well, lookie here what I found:
"Dwarves can advance up to the 12th level as Skalds."
http://www.purpleworm.org/rules/CBH/DD04961.htm

It's more of a "Warlord-like" class. With war chants, and even battle chants to buff MYSELF in battle. Are there any Nordic-like dwarves in the realms? I don't remember.

What do you think of this?

Well I was hoping that we could have started two weeks ago but if we have to wait I guess the 12th or the 19th will work for me as well...

I have been re-learning more about the 'Realms, and if I can't be a Dwarven Skald, I guess I could be a Ffolk/Northmen from the Moonshae Isles.

I say go with what you want to play. I ended up with a half-orc champion of Illneval...he's a berserker.

Mith here is a bit more of my nerd-passion from the 80's.

Warrior's Prayer/Blood of the Kings
& another favorite from them
Crown and the Ring

He was willing to let me have a 19str, which after some thought I just couldn't do. I can't speak for him but he's been pretty darn lenient so far...*cough* wildmage *cough*
