"We still have a few hours before dark. Let's scout around a bit more and then we can make camp, okay?"

Burly glances sideways at the rat nest and shudders that he actually didn't have to fight the giant rodents. "Gods, I hate rats," he murmurs.

Danny Cruester

when arriving at the scene of the rat fight, Danny quietly flicks out his fillet knife, goes round the slain critters and cuts off the tails of each one, tying them to the fence around the broken part. To hang them up for drying - or to make a warning sign for other rats ? Who knows - Danny ain't elaborating.
Task done, he will then go over to shake hands with Keilif - and if that succeeds, tries to use the last drops of healing water that rubbed off from Keilif's hands, to clean his own rat-stained fingers. Hand hygiene is all-important when handling animal by-products, be it fish or rodent. And Sea Witch Mother sounds like a good a brand as any.

Keilif Zythanthus:

Seeing Danny approach with gore stained hands, Keilif avoids his sullied handshake at all costs. "No need to shake hands right now my friend."

Jónas Gillman

Jónas has been hurt before, but this is different. This isn't a mishap at work (like toppling down from a ship's mast or dropping heavy crates on various body parts). This is a combat wound. He'd almost feel happy, if not for the searing pain...

"Thank you," he says to Vhing who offers a helping hand. He doesn't take the sledgehammer - it's harder to walk with the heavy instrument.
Mant72 wrote:Suddenly, both of his cupped palms seem to fill with what appears to be seawater. Keilif is completely in awe of this miracle, for this has never occurred before. He slowly turns back to the group and addresses both Jonas and Alec, "The Sea Mother offers her healing. Drink and be assuaged of your pain." He offers the holy waters to both of the wounded men.
Keilif will use his Healing Waters cantrip twice. If neither men choose to drink, he will drink the offering himself. Healing Waters: a handful of salt water miraculously appears in the caster's hand. When ingested, the water heals very minor wounds (1 hp).
"I... accept!" he himself is in awe as well and drinks from Keilif's hand with dutiful piety. The salty water reminds him of his dreams and long swims in the small, secret bay and the pain eases. (Heal 1 hp)

"What did you find in the well? Shall we go to the house now?"

"Danny found a snake. Other than that, not much worth getting bit over."
Burly gives Keilif a look of wonderment and pats the man on the shoulder with a nod of approval. "How did you do that?"

Still in awe of the miracle, Keilif stammers, "I...I don't know. I was offering a prayer to Shileil, and I suddenly felt a sense of peace come over me. The next thing I knew my hands were filled with the water that I knew would provide healing."

I still don't know if we should go in the house right now, but I'm down with what the group decides. Three of us are still hurt. Hey Ogre, what time of day is it at this point? How far is nightfall off?

"ah yes," agrees Vhing,"I think at the bottom of the well, Danny felt that very same sense of peace."

"More like a sense of piss than peace, I would say." Burly replies, rolling his eyes at the half-orc, trying not to smirk. ;)

Danny catches on, pulls back his hand, morphing the attempted shake into a Garfish Gang hand signal instead (maybe wasted on this lot, but looks cool)

....then wipes his hands on some grass

"Yes, let's try to enter through the back, but we must remain aware of the time. I do not want to be caught in the house after nightfall, and I still think it's a good idea to have two groups watch both entries into the place as we camp."

Vhing Cranepool

Taking back his sledgehammer Vhing will go to the front entrance."well what do you think boss," he says to Doubtful,"some round the back and some through the front. We chase all the ghoulies to the middle. "

Do we buddy up in two groups or stay as one?

I vote we stay together. Splitting the party is usually a bad idea, especially running 0 level characters.

Doubtful

Nods solemnly to Keilif after the miracle of healing. Praise to Sea Mother and Her faithful servant.

First, let's fix up our brave lads as best we can.

Who else still needs healing?

Concentrates and casts succor to healsuccor [1d2] = 2

Now, I believe the rats taught us a lesson- stick together. Always take someone with you. Right, Ben?

The back door sounds good-one big group for now. We can do a quick recon inside then set up camp...two camps to monitor both entrances. Smart idea. Even smarter is that the front yard camp will be nowhere near that rat nest. Let's make the most of our daylight, boys.

Ben nods in agreement. "Definitely should keep together. I tell ya, there was this one time we pulled into port down near quagmire town - the place was a dive like no other - and a coupla of us hearties went a drinking and it seems this pissant little town enjoyed having its way with sailors. Particularly small groups. No trouble ambushin us in ones and twos. Lots of us that first day were wincing and whining on duty after the muggings we took. Next night, though, we turned the tables on those bastards. Ones and twos went out a drinkin with fives and sixes quietly backing them up. Well, seems like those bastards showed their real brass that night after a half dozen beatings. Was all quiet at the pub after that, eh?"

Alec

Ja, I would like some healing. I tink we should stay together, also.

Alec ties his handkerchief around his wound.

Vhing Cranepool

Vhing walks ruefully past the front entrance doors wagging his finger at them. Rubbing the head of his hammer, "Looks like 'brute force' gets to knock you open next time around."

Going round the back of the house, he sees the door slightly ajar. Looking at the group he grins a toothy grin and wipes his nose on his cloak sleeve, soot staining a black smear like warpaint across his chin."So do we do like Saltmartians do..? Send the greenarse first in and last out?"

With that, Vhing will begins to step across the house threshold pausing just enough to whisper with a wink to the next in line behind him, "if you're scared we can always hold hands."

Doubtful

Rolls his eyes as Vhing goes in before any chance of discussing a plan.

To the others, any splitting up for brief periods- groups no smaller than four. Watch the light. We still need daylight to set up camp as well once we come out. And Alec, your vision will come in quite handy right about now.

Keilif Zythanthus:

Keilif follows the others to the back entrance of the decrepit mansion with his mallet held tightly in his fist. He observes the floor of the partially open door, looking for any possible footprints.
Jonas' infravision should help out too.

Ermulf Jormundson

Ermulf is glad to be in such company, he would have rathered stayed outside overnight first, but the priestess said hurry, so hurry we must. Luckily the half-orc was brave enough to go first.

Ermulf follows closely behind, with his putchfork held vertically like a banner, so as not to poke anyone accidentally. he is careful not to touch anything or even bump against the walls.

How's the lighting in this room? plentybof wimdows for natural light? or are we wishing we had a torch?
